SPECIAL FEATURES​

• Blade Construction:
  
  • Mono-molecular Edge: With a mono-molecular edge, the weapon has a higher chance of penetrating armor or natural carapace than a traditional beskad, whose ability to do so is already very impressive. This also has the added benefit of functioning even without power unlike several of the other systems built into the blade. Additionally, it has higher potential to do damage to body tissue, bones, organs and the like than a traditional beskad as well.

  • Repulsor Generator: The user can activate the repulsor generator with the push of a button to augment the force of their strikes, greatly increasing armor penetrating capability and damage potential.
  • Ultrasonic Vibration Generator: The ultrasonic vibration generator's output can be adjusted using a sliding switch on the hilt. The lowest setting shuts the generator off.
  • HUD Link (optional): The blade can link to the user's HUD, putting the button controls at their disposal with all the convenience of a HUD. Status indicators also display over this link

STRENGTHS​

• Beskad: The weighting of a beskad's blade and it's grip lend itself very well to heavy swinging motions that are more likely to penetrate armor and cause serious damage to any underlying tissue or bone beneath.
• Armor Penetrating: The ultrasonic vibration generator, energy cell/projector and the mono-molecular edge enhance a beskad's natural armor penetrating qualities to an exponential level, even giving it the ability to potentially deal with exotic materials and advanced composites and alloys such as beskar, phrik and the like.
• Lethal Wounds: The weapon's ultrasonic vibration and repulsor generator greatly augment the deadly wounds that a beskad is capable of causing. Even a graze is capable of causing grievous wounds. In the case of the repulsor generator, what might be a critical wound with an unaided strike could become an execution blow with the aid of the generator.
• Rylith Power Cell: The weapon makes use of a Rylith Power Cell, making for significantly increased battery life, as well as the capability to recharge the cell with exposure to sunlight.

WEAKNESSES​

• Somewhat Less Finesse: A beskad is not a weapon for graceful parries and elegant flicks of the wrist, rather it's about battering your opponent's defenses down and then hacking them to pieces. That doesn't always work.
• Beskar: The weapon is, at the end of the day, made from beskar. Given the number of anti-beskar measures in the galaxy, there's a relatively high chance of running into one of them.
• Out of Power: If the power cell runs out of charge, then weapons more advanced functions will be disabled, notably decreasing its lethality.
• EMP/Ion: Should the weapon's EMP/Ion defenses be overwhelmed by a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, the weapons more advanced functions would be rendered unusable, notably decreasing its lethality.

The B-02 is the latest iteration of beskad designed and produced by the company, primarily for use by Strill Securities, but also for sale to Mandalorian customers. An export version of the beskad is planned for later release. As with previous models, export configurations are bundled with a year-long training package to turn even an amateur beskad enthusiast into a competent combatant. This particular configuration of beskad is the one favored by the Breshig clans, who usually user a Kal or some other knife in their off hand as a parrying aid or use their beskad in conjunction with their sidearms.​

Distilled from combat experiences with the previous B-01M model, the B-02 features a number of improvements over the previous model. The new HUD link was initially criticized as an extraneous feature by members of Strill Securities who tested it, but as testing progressed it was appreciated for the utility it offered. The other new feature was a new Rylith energy cell that offered more stable power delivery as well as a number of different modes that gave the blade a number of new utility features. ​

Unfortunately, none of these improvements were able to offset the older model's flaws. A beskad at the end of the day, as stressed on by a number of Strill's combat instructors, is still a beskad, This means that the B-02 comes with all flaws of a traditional beskad. Despite the notably long life of a Rylith energy cell and the EMP/Ion protections of the weapon, running out of power and having the weapon fried by a particularly powerful EMP/Ion weapon is still an issue that the user should be aware of. Finally, the blade of the B-02 like the B-01 is still made from beskar, meaning all the nasty anti-beskar measures developed by the galaxy are still effective against it. ​
