SPECIAL FEATURES​

• Blade Construction:
  
  • Mono-molecular Edge: With a mono-molecular edge, the weapon has a higher chance of penetrating armor or natural carapace than a traditional Kal. This also has the added benefit of functioning even without power unlike several of the other systems built into the blade. Additionally, it has higher potential to do damage to body tissue, bones, organs and the like than a traditional Kal as well.

  • Repulsor Generator: The user can activate the repulsor generator with the push of a button to augment the force of their strikes, greatly increasing armor penetrating capability and damage potential.
  • Ultrasonic Vibration Generator: The ultrasonic vibration generator's output can be adjusted using a sliding switch on the hilt. The lowest setting shuts the generator off.
  • HUD Link (optional): The blade can link to the user's HUD, putting the button controls at their disposal with all the convenience of a HUD. Status indicators also display over this link

STRENGTHS​

• Beskad'ika: The weighting of a Beskad'ika's blade and it's grip lend itself very well to heavy swinging motions that are more likely to penetrate armor and cause serious damage to any underlying tissue or bone beneath.
• Armor Penetrating: The ultrasonic vibration generator, energy cell/projector and the mono-molecular edge enhance a beskad's natural armor penetrating qualities to an exponential level, even giving it the ability to potentially deal with exotic materials and advanced composites and alloys such as beskar, phrik and the like.
• Lethal Wounds: The weapon's ultrasonic vibration and repulsor generator greatly augment the deadly wounds that a beskad is capable of causing. Even a graze is capable of causing grievous wounds. In the case of the repulsor generator, what might be a critical wound with an unaided strike could become an execution blow with the aid of the generator.
• Rylith Power Cell: The weapon makes use of a Rylith Power Cell, making for significantly increased battery life, as well as the capability to recharge the cell with exposure to sunlight.

WEAKNESSES​

• Somewhat Less Finesse: Though lighter than a traditional Beskad, a Beskad'ika is not a weapon for graceful parries and elegant flicks of the wrist, rather it's about battering your opponent's defenses down and then hacking them to pieces. That doesn't always work.
• Beskar: The weapon is, at the end of the day, made from beskar. Given the number of anti-beskar measures in the galaxy, there's a relatively high chance of running into one of them.
• Out of Power: If the power cell runs out of charge, then weapons more advanced functions will be disabled, notably decreasing its lethality.
• EMP/Ion: Should the weapon's EMP/Ion defenses be overwhelmed by a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, the weapons more advanced functions would be rendered unusable, notably decreasing its lethality.

DESCRIPTION​

The Beskad'ika is a shorter version of the Beskad designed by the clans of Breshig during the waning years of the Mandalorian Crusade under Mand'alor the Ultimate. It was designed to be lighter and easier to carry as well as wield alongside heavy sidearms than a traditional Beskad. Some more coordinated members of the Breshig clans took to wielding two of the weapons. While traditional Beskads were around 30 inches in length, a typical Beskad'ika was anywhere from 20-25 inches in length. Additionally, a Beskad'ika tended to be a double edged blade, with both the inside and outside edge of the top portion of the blade having a sharpened edge.​

Tthe B-03 features the same improvements over the B-01 that the B-02 does, including the new HUD link. The other new feature was a new Rylith energy cell that offered more stable power delivery as well as a number of different modes that gave the blade a number of new utility features. These include but are not limited to an energy protector that considerably improves armor-penetration, including and especially against exotic armor materials such as Phrik and Beskar, a sonic energy discharge cell for adding sonic damage to a strike at the discretion of the wielder, an ion cell for aiding the wielder in battering their way through shields and a tremor cell to non-lethally wound combatants (provided the ultrasonic generator is shut off).​

Unfortunately, none of these improvements were able to offset the older model's flaws completely. No amount of technological improvements are going to make the weapon function in a manner that it wasn't designed to, and that is as a finesse weapon. Additionally, despite the notably long life of a Rylith energy cell and the EMP/Ion protections of the weapon, running out of power and having the weapon fried by a particularly powerful EMP/Ion weapon is still an issue that the user should be aware of. Finally, the blade of the B-03 like the B-02 is still made from Beskar, meaning all the nasty anti-beskar measures developed by the galaxy are still effective against it. ​
