PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Diagnostic Suite Link: The system links with systems that feature diagnostic suites and track malfunctions and damage using said link.
  • Sensor and Scanner Net: The system has a number of sensors and scanners installed across the mounting platform to track maintenance issues and damage. These sensors and scanners are ruggedized and hardened to damage, allowing them to survive to report the damage sustained to the area and components they monitor.
  • Limited Spare Parts Store: There are some critical spare parts stored for organic and droid repair personnel to make use of, but the limited space in most of the intended mounting platforms limits the number and size of spares stored.
  • Diagnostic Link: The system can link with any other maintenance and damage control systems and operate as part of a larger damage control system or handle damage control tasking on its own and merely interface with other systems. This can also link to hangar or vehicle bay repair systems to provide additional information such as required spare parts for damaged systems and the like.
  • Damage Control Center: When the system detects damage it checks the location and picks one of the repair droids or organic personnel synced to its maintenance comm net and dispatches them. If there are multiple sources of damage, it will assign those repair tasks that are closest to each other, splitting the tasks between the droids or organic personnel connected to the system. The system prioritizes more critically damaged components, but can be manually overridden by the mounting platform's operator(s) from the main control console.
  • Maintenance Comm Net:
STRENGTHS
  • Coordinated, Informed Repairs and Maintenance: The system detects maintenance issues and damage and coordinates and monitors the maintenance and repair process, allowing for such procedures to be carried out in an efficient manner even in difficult conditions.
  • Resilient: The system is designed to not only operate in combat conditions, but also to be able to survive the damage that might be sustained by the areas of the platform that they monitor.
WEAKNESSES
  • No One Left: Without the droids or organic personnel to coordinate, the system is unable to coordinate any manner of repairs or maintenance.
  • No Spares: Certain components require specially fabricated spare parts and only so many spares can be stored.
  • Repair Personnel Dependent: The system is only as capable as the organic or droid personnel under its tasking.
DESCRIPTION
"Starboard engine out! Starboard engine is...never mind, starboard engine's green."
- Blackbox recording from unnamed mercenary pilot's.
The Bes'jah'ad'ika or little iron doctor in galactic standard basic is a sub-capital starship and vehicle-grade damage control system designed for use on combat-rated platforms with both organic and droid repair personnel. The system was designed to bring organization to the finely balanced chaos that mid-battle repairs usually end up as, coordinating and providing valuable additional information for the whole process. The system was completed shortly before the company launched the latest phase of its modernization program.
The system's operation is conceptually simple. It detects maintenance issues and damage and coordinates and monitors the maintenance and repair process, allowing for such procedures to be carried out in an efficient manner even in difficult conditions. To do this is utilizes a number of scanners and sensors that are installed across the mounting platform. If the system detects a maintenance issue or damage, it will assign the task to one of the organic or droid personnel connected to its internal comm net. The tasks are split between personnel and optimized such that personnel never have to travel far. Additionally, the system will never assign personnel tasking that they do not have the capability to complete.
Naturally, however, without personnel to coordinate, the system has no real way to conduct repairs or maintenance of any kind. In the same vein, the system is only as capable as aforementioned personnel under its tasking. Finally, certain components require specially fabricated spare parts and only so many spares can be stored.
