SPECIAL FEATURES
- Launch and Retrieval Systems
- Precision tractor beam projector(s): Precision tractor beam projectors allow tractor assisted recovery of probes/drones.
- Catapult pressor beam projector(s): Catapult pressor beam launchers allow for increased launch velocity of craft. This also increases the launch rate of craft, by allowing craft to clear the bay faster.
- Retractable engine blast shield(s): Allows fighter craft to launch with their engines on full without causing damage to anything behind the fighters' drive.
- Retractable emergency crash net(s): When tractor recovery is not possible, proving to be ineffective, a crash net can be erected to arrest an incoming craft's momentum.
- Carousel Repair/Re-arm/Maintenance Station(s): The probes are stored in a carousel loader, with each space in the loader acting as a hangar for the probe. The system keeps track of which probes are stored where and can 'load' and prepare whichever probe the operator requests at a moment's notice. The capacity of the loader is dependant on the mounting platform.
- 'Iu'yaniyasa Ga'napr' Automated Modular Foundry integration: Spare parts are manufactured by the automated foundry system and send to each station in advance, though parts can also be manufactured and dispatched on demand, though this will take time.
- 'Iu'yaniyasa Larda' Automated Ammunition Handling System integration: Ammunition for probes is sent on demand by the automation ammunition handling system. It is stored in each station till it is loaded onto the probe.
- 1x MCD-01 Gar'gotabor Maintenance/Construction Droid: Each station is attended to by a Gar'gotabor droid who can be programmed with the schematics of whatever probes are usually stored. They attend to repairs, maintenance and re-arming of the craft either autonomously or under the supervision of an organic or droid crew member.
- Magnetic field with backup.
- Automatically sealing blast door with manual override.
- Security:
- 'Morut'yc' Security System: The bay features its own security system to make infiltration/boarding of the mounting platform via it's probe bay and launch tube as difficult as is possible. This system can integrate perfectly into another Morut'yc installation (or compatible security suite).
STRENGTHS
- Resilient: Built to last, the hangar lives up to its namesake, literally serving as a stronghold for probes and drones to be launched from. It's construction allows it to resist a wide variety of damage sources found both and off the battlefield.
- Secure: With an advanced security system and point-defense turrets, each hangar is well protected against a variety of different threats.
- High Degree of Automation: The high degree of automation reduces crew requirements and fatigue, freeing up crew for more critical tasks.
WEAKNESSES
- It's a Probe Bay: The bay itself offers no direct offensive or defensive benefit to the mounting platform, instead relying on any craft that might be housed within.
- High Degree of Automation: While freeing up the crew's attention for more critical tasks, the high degree of automation means that there's a lot of Ion/EMP vulnerable equipment in the bay.
- Infiltration: Though very, very slim, the chances that a specialized, elite team of enemy infiltrators could find their way aboard using the launch tubes is not that insignificant, especially in the chaos and cacophony of a pitched battle.
DESCRIPTION
Probe and drone launch and retrieval when necessary is a mundane task that usually a member of the crew must involve themselves with. However, Breshig War Forge Consolidated developed the Beskar'ad'ika Morut to be used with the Svagiragr control suite, which come with traffic control automation functions to automatically handle traffic control. Like the Mesen Morut, Can'gal Morut and Jayeritr Morut, the Beskar'ad'ika Morut is part of the company's effort to streamline production efforts and ease the installation of probe bays and drone deployment systems. To do so, the company consolidated both systems and paired it with their Svagiragr suite.
The bay is built around a carousel loader system, where each chamber in the loader serves as a repair, re-arm and maintenance bay for the probe/drone being housed within. The loader revolves to align the craft with the launch tube, and repeats this process in reverse when retrieving craft. To minimize the chance of infiltration, the entire system is protected by a dedicated security system that can easily integrate into a larger compatible security system. The tube, the blast door and carousel bay system as well as the housing are all built Mandalorian-tough, designed to withstand the rigors of combat condition service as well as damage that it might face on the battlefield.
This high degree of automation does make the system extremely vulnerable to any EMP/Ion damage that manages to bypass or overwhelm its defences. In the chaos and cacophony of battle, it is possible that an elite team of infiltrators, or those equipped with advanced stealth gear, could infiltrate via the launch tube. There are several methods to dislodge such irritants in such a case, but that hinges on the crew noticing the infiltration in the first place. As such, the company recommends that crews pay some attention to the security feeds of the launch bays, especially when a launch or retrieval operation is taking place.
