SPECIAL FEATURES
- Countermeasures:
- Stage Three Torpedoes
- NF-01 Nano-flares
- Trickster Decoys
- Anti-ordnance EM Probes
- Forward and Rearward firing Dampener-Anti-laser Aerosol Cannisters: Short range chemical rocket-propelled with a timed fuze to set detonation distance.
- Forward and Rearward firing Nagnol Gas Cannisters: Short range chemical rocket-propelled with a timed fuze to set detonation distance.
- IFF Confusers: The IFF Confusers are set to be synced with the 'Manda' Tactical Battlenet and will automatically not scramble the IFFs of friendlies on the battlenet. Alternatively, the number of sensor contacts to be exempted from the scrambling can be manually programmed into the IFF confuser prior to launch.
- Controller/Processor:
- Full 'Manda' tactical battlenet compatibility: Full compatibility with the Manda battlenet and other systems patched to work with the 'Carud Dha'hase'-M enables the system to not only rely on the host craft's sensors but also on the sensors of friendlies, giving it considerably improved ability to track threats and launch countermeasures in response to them.
- Heuristically learning Gunnery Droid Brain (with targeting assistance when manual override engaged): The gunnery droid brain is loaded with the engagement profiles of a number of different threats to the host platform and countermeasure launch patterns and routines to potentially respond to them. In addition, it can learn from combat circumstances and as such adapt. If in manual mode, it will instead interface with the craft's threat detection system to display additional information and more accurate warnings to the user.
- Semi-Automatic Mode: The pilot can also set the system to automatically handle some of the countermeasure systems automatically while the others are launched manually by the pilot, but the launch process is still assisted by the system in the same manner as in full manual operation detailed above.
STRENGTHS
- Suite of Countermeasures: The suite of countermeasures includes a number of decoys, anti-missile, anti-tractor beam and even anti-fighter countermeasures. This gives pilots
- Automation Compatible: The countermeasure suite is compatible with various automatic threat detection systems and can be operated by a droid brain or astromech droid on board. Naturally, it is also compatible with the 'Manda' tactical battlenet.
- Resilient: The reinforced Duraplast armor and molecularly bonded Duranium casing make the component considerably resilient against kinetic, energy and EMP/Ion damage, while the Agrinium mesh and combat de-ionizer only serve to augment its EMP/Ion protection.
WEAKNESSES
- EMP/Ion: Enough EMP/Ion damage can and will fry the system despite its considerable protection.
- Sensors: In automated mode, the system's efficiency is directly related to how effective the craft's onboard sensors are.
- Stage Three Torpedo: The stage three torpedo's blast doesn't distinguish between friendly and hostile tractor beams, and careful targeting and deployment is not always enough to avoid inadvertent disruption of friendly tractor beams.
DESCRIPTION
"Tion'ad hukaat'kama?"
- Marketing for the 'Carud Dha'hase'-M.
The 'Carud Dha'hase'-M is an upgrade of the company's older 'Carud Dha'hase' system that makes use of a number of different advances in countermeasures and data processing to provide considerably enhanced capabilities. designed to effectively counter threats faced by craft in the chaos of the modern battlefield.
Rather than rely solely on the pilot's skill and presence of mind to use the correct countermeasures at the right time even in manual operation mode, the system can interface with the craft's threat detection system to display additional information and more accurate warnings to the user. Like the previous version however, the system retains the automatic operation mode. The gunnery droid brain that controls the system in this mode is loaded with the engagement profiles of a number of different threats to the host platform and countermeasure launch patterns and routines to potentially respond to them. In addition, it can learn from combat circumstances and as such adapt. The pilot can also set the system to automatically handle some of the countermeasure systems automatically while the others are launched manually by the pilot, but the launch process is still assisted by the system in the same manner as in full manual operation detailed above.
The system's main advantage is that it has a wide array of countermeasures at its disposal. Trickster decoys, anti-ordnance EM probes, NF-01 nano-flares and Nagnol gas cannisters provide an array of options to potentially avoid, disable or destroy incoming ordnance. The nano-flares provide the additional capability to engage enemy starfighters and unguided ordnance as well. Dampener-Anti-laser aerosol cannisters provide a counter to enemy energy weapons, which is particularly useful for dampening or outright negating the impact of point-defense energy weapons during attack runs against enemy capital ships and during head-on engagements with other starfighters. A stock of IFF confuses that have been modified with the ability for the pilot to manually set which sensor contacts are unaffected and also by default don't affect friendlies on the same 'Manda' battlenet or other battlenets patched to work with the system are also included. Another very useful system is the stage three torpedo launcher', replacing the wave-layered bombs of the previous version.
Like the wave-layered bombs, however, the doesn't distinguish between friendly and hostile tractor beams, and careful targeting and deployment is not always enough to avoid inadvertent disruption of friendly tractor beams. Additionally, while well protected against EMP/Ion damage, enough damage from said weapons can and certainly will fry the circuitry rendering the entire system completely and utterly unusable till repairs can be effected. In addition, when used in automated mode, the system is only as effective as the craft's sensor suite.
