TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Classification: Energy Torpedo Launcher.
- Size: Large.
- Weight: Very Heavy.
- Ammunition Type: Fusion Plasma.
- Ammunition Capacity: Small. The launcher can fire five shots before undergoing a ninety second long recharge and cooling cycle, though the weapon's ammunition supply is theoretically unlimited.
- Effective Range:
- Rapid-fire Mode: Battlefield.
- Standard: Extreme.
- Rate of Fire:
- Rapid-fire Mode: High.
- Standard: Average.
- Damage Output: Extreme.

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Armor/HUD Sync: The A-03S syncs to armor HUD and sensor systems. Target acquisition and assignment is done via armor sensor and HUD systems respectively.
- Heuristic Processor: A heuristic processor is included to handle the real-time processing requirements of the weapon.
- Slave Targeting Mode: The weapon can be set to follow the user's head motions, allowing for faster targeting of units not immediately in front of the user.
- In-built 1-250x Extreme Range 'Kyrayc Sur'haai' Optic System.
- Armature folds and stows on the back when not in use.
- Energy Torpedo Fire Modes:
- Standard: A 'standard' packet of fusion plasma capable of immense energy release on target.
- Incendiary: Similar to the shot fired by the ancient Incinerator-class railgun, this torpedo can 'stick' to a target and continue to burn with the fury of a solar flare (naturally not the same temperature as a solar flare) for a short period of time, potentially superheating and weakening the structural integrity of armor and hull plating.
- Ion: A packet of ion particles capable of immense damage to a target's shields, weapons, cybernetics and other equipment.
- Radiation: Similar to the T33 Plasma Torpedo, this torpedo is a high radiation energy cone that is designed to do extreme damage to shield systems but can also cause extreme damage to unprotected organics, droids, electric and electronic equipment.
STRENGTHS
- Over and Through Cover: The armature can fire over or around cover while its integrated optic system allows the operator to potentially see through cover by way of its integrated wallscope.
- Long Range: The torpedoes have an extremely long range, allowing them to be used while potentially exposing the user to minimum incoming fire.
- Versatile: The ETL-02S is capable of firing multiple types of energy torpedoes, making it a very versatile weapon system.
- Accurate: The ETL-02S is an accurate weapon out to its last range increment, making it suited for attacking subcomponents and hardpoints on enemy vehicles or firing shots through large firing slits on enemy fortifications.
- EMP/Ion Resistant: The launcher is armored with reinforced duraplast and equipped with a combat de-ionizer, it is greatly resistant to EMP/Ion damage.
- Fast Projectile Speed: Because of the extremely high projectile speed, the chance of evasion by the target is lower than with several other types of weapon systems.
WEAKNESSES
- Electronic Warfare: Wide area jamming and/or atmospheric interference can decrease the effectiveness and operating range of the optic.
- Unguided: Unlike more traditional standard ordnance, energy torpedoes are unguided and fly in a straight line.
- EMP/Ion: If the launcher actually sustains enough EMP/Ion damage, it's accelerator rails will be permanently damaged, requiring a complete replacement of the barrel.
- Slow Mode Change: Changing which type of torpedo is going to fire takes about the same as a recharge cycle.
- Cooling System Malfunction: Should the cooling system malfunction or become damaged, the launcher will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure.
DESCRIPTION
The ETL-02S is a variant of the ETL-01M designed for use as an armor-mounted solution to the problem of the increasing prevalence of armored vehicles, heavy infantry and as a solution for enemy fortifications or heavy cover encountered particularly during urban operations. A newer weapon system produced by the company, it has quickly been adopted by assault specialists of Strill Securities Shocktroopers and the company's elite Shock-Assault commandos.
The ability to fire over or around cover while being able to potentially see through cover thanks to its integrated optic system only serves to increase the lethality of the weapon while also minimizing the amount of incoming and/or return fire that the operator has to weather. Additionally, the weapon's extremely long range and projectile speed only serve to cement this advantage whilst also potentially drastically shortening the target's evasion window. Even if the weapon is disabled, the integrated optic can still be utilized like an armature mounted sensor/optic wand.
The weapon also possesses the ability to trade range for rate of fire, allowing the operator to fire all torpedoes at a single target or a few targets in rapid succession.
One of the most obvious advantages of the weapon is its theoretically unlimited ammunition supply, barring a short recharge and cooling cycle that the weapon must undergo after every five shots. Additionally, unlike missile launchers, the launcher can switch between firing a number of different types of energy torpedoes without the operator or an assistant having to carry around a number of additional missiles/rockets.
The weapon's accuracy combined with its effectively unlimited ammunition supply, versatility, fast projectile speed, range and high damage potential make it quite the lethal weapons system. The unguided nature of its ammunition however, do necessitate careful use, especially when friendlies and/or non-combatants are operating in the area.
The disadvantage with the electronic heavy system is that despite its protection from EMP/Ion damage, any damage that gets through is likely to cause catastrophic damage to the weapon. Additionally, the optic system's performance can degrade heavily with concerted wide-area jamming and certain notably adverse atmospheric conditions. Finally, due to the weapon's nature, if the cooling system were to becoming damaged or otherwise malfunction, the weapon will lock down to prevent a critical operating failure, preventing its use.
