SPECIAL FEATURES
- Data Fusion:
- Optical System:
- 360-degree FOV Coverage Wide-angle Electro Photo Receptor with Electrobinocular (1x - 100x magnification) functions: The Electro Photo Receptors used here have been modified with a number of additional sensor, scanner and imaging systems listed below. They are all built with the same magnification level as the listed Electrobinocular zoom. The view displayed is a composite image created from all the connected systems parsed and processed by advanced data processing algorithms and a secondary advanced Droid Brain with Gabonna memory crystal.
- Automatic Anti-Flash functions.
- Feed Recording: The composite sensor feed can be recorded to data cards or other storage mediums connected either wired or wirelessly.
- Infrared Motion Sensor with supplemental Motion Sensors and Heat Detector.
- Light Amplification functions.
- Ultrasonic Imaging System: A number of ultrasonic beam emitters are used to create a composite sonic image which allows the user to see through most kinds of cover and concealment.

- Scanners:
- EMS Scanner: The EMS Scanner can be used for targeting and tracking purposes of specific EM signatures or can store specific EM signatures for later use.
- General Purpose Scanner (Lifeform Scanner unable to bypass stealth systems)
- Sensors:
- Optical System:
- Navigational Suite: The navigation suite uses the different systems to best ascertain the sensor's location..
- Software:
- Mapping: The deployable sensor utilizes its navigation suite along with its other systems to create a map of the area.
- Positional Mapping: The system tracks the positions of friendly, hostile and neutral contacts on the map generated by the navigational suite and is constantly updated based on local and networked data.
- Networking: The sensors are all linked together in a mesh network. They can then link to additional devices such as a command post. vehicles, infantry comms suites, or even turrets and other automated defensive systems. but they also have transmit only link functions with the 'Manda' battlenet or any other battlenet patched to function with the 'Manda' style data-sharing and processing.
- Communications Suite:
- Encryption/Decryption Suite
- Location Spoofing/Scrambling:
- Communications Suite: When connected to compatible systems, the communication suite is an auto-negotiating, frequency hopping system with a self-modulating encryption key, making it extremely resistant to jamming and interception. The comm-lasers can mimic this by rapidly shifting their broadcast spectrum.
- Comm Laser
- Hypercomm
- Holographic Comm Unit
- Emergency Jammer Function: Each of the aforementioned devices can generate artificial noise.
- Backup Communication Systems
- Security Systems:
- RRDM
- Socketguard
- Echo Pulse
- Pyrowall
- Holotrace
- Connection Trace functionality
- Encryption/Decryption Suite
- Power:
- Backup Rylith Power Cell (provides approximately 3 months of use on a full charge)
- Camouflage:
- Multispectrum Disguise Suite: The sensor scans the immediate area and then determines what object to best disguise itself as.
- Propulsion: When dispersed via artillery minelaying rounds, the sensors maintain a configurable distance from each other by using their propulsion systems to spread out.
- Emergency Ion Charge: A code-activated ion failsafe can fry the system in emergency situations. The ion failsafe will also activate if any unauthorized tampering is detected by the system.
STRENGTHS
- Automatic Deployment: Once dropped or dispersed, these units will deploy their sensor systems and and activate their camouflage suites entirely on their own. Additionally, if deployed by artillery, the units will disperse themselves without outside help.
- Jamming Resistant: The system's data fusion prevents interference generated by jamming or other electronic warfare from overwhelming the system, with only extremely heavy electronic warfare being able to cause any real issues to the system.
WEAKNESSES
- EMP/Ion: Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as data corruption, sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure.
- Electronic Warfare: While jamming resistant, particularly electronic warfare dense zones can notably reduce the effectiveness of some of the systems in the suite, but not totally prevent them from functioning.
DESCRIPTION
"Why is that rock emitting comm waves?"
"That rock is what?"
"Team one kriffing scatter, team one kriffing scatter, now!"
- Last conversation of a hostile mercenary unit prior to precision artillery strike on their position.
Battlefield awareness is a deciding factor when determining both tactical and strategic initiative. Networked sensor suites and cross-platform networking are a proven solution but the unfortunate truth of warfare is that you cannot place units to cover every single blind spot effectively. This is the problem Strill Securities faced till a solution was reached between the company's scouts and battalion attached Breshig War Forge Consolidated technicians. The solution started out as a field-manufactured custom solution till the idea became popular enough among other units that the design was streamlined, improved and a production line was setup.
The sensor, scanner and optical system on the beacons have a full 360-degree coverage and employ data fusion, giving them great resistance to jamming and other electronic warfare. Particularly electronic warfare dense zones can notably reduce the effectiveness of some of the systems in the suite, but not totally prevent them from functioning. This comprehensive, data-fused suite and extremely fast data processing capabilities gives the beacons considerable detection capability, virtually ensuring that barring full sensor and optical stealth virtually nothing would reasonably be able to evade detection by it.
The beauty of these beacons is their ease of deployment. The beacons can be deployed via minelayers, by hand or even by artillery and mortar systems. In the case of the mortar and artillery deployment, the beacon is equipped with a micro repulsor to ensure that the beacons maintain a configurable pre-set distance from each other. Additionally, the beacons are networked, allowing them to dramatically increase transmission range. Additionally, these beacons are also networked into the 'Manda' battlenet via one-way transmit only function.
Due to the nature of the system, it does possess two notable flaws. Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as data corruption, sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure. Finally, while jamming resistant, particularly electronic warfare dense zones can notably reduce the effectiveness of some of the systems in the suite, but not totally prevent them from functioning.
