PRODUCTION INFORMATION
- Manufacturer: Breshig War Forge Consolidated.
- Affiliation: Breshig War Forge Consolidated and Strill Securities.
- Material: Molecularly bonded Duranium frame, Molecularly bonded Duranium-reinforced Duraplast composite plating, Condensed-matter composite reinforcements, Agrinium lining, Thermal gel lining, Anti-corr coating, ombat de-ionizer, and Ultrachrome wiring, circuitry and electronics.
- Modularity: Can be installed on a variety of small craft and vehicles.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Computer: The security terminals are mounted in different locations on different platforms. For starfighters, they're usually mounted in a storage hatch or behind a sealed maintenance access panel.
- Safety Measures:
- Emergency Stud(s) for canopy/hatch release
- Automatic Sealup (with manual override possible)
- Extinguisher Foam Dispenser(s)
- Emergency Patching Foam Dispenser(s) (setting can be disabled for installations not in hostile environments)
- Radiation Dampening Foam Dispenser(s)
- Security:
- Silent Alarm (notifies all comm units linked to the internal security network)
- Klaxon alarm system (can be configured to not sound)
- Emergency Siren (can be configured to not sound)
- Hull Scrubber (deactivates when repair crews are sent out)
- ID Scanner keyed pressure plate trip triggered man trap(s) at all blast doors/hatches (not present on starfighter model)
- Shock Field(s) at both sides of all blast doors/hatches, activate if doors/hatches are forced open (not present on starfighter model)
- Stun Steps
- Magnetic Seal equipped hatches and blast doors.
- Automated Weapon Control: Using the host starship/vehicle's targeting and tracking system, the system can engage those attempting to approach without authorization using weapons that can be controlled by the starship/vehicle such as gimbals or unmanned turrets. This is a low-priority interrupt, however, and any other systems that might need to take control of the weapons at this time will be given priority. The system doesn't only function with weapons, but can utilize countermeasures and electronic warfare systems as well.
- Counter Slicing:
- Magnetic Pulse Wiper (last resort, wipes affected terminal first)
- RRDM
- Socketguard
- Echo Pulse
- Pyrowall
- Sensor/Scanner Systems: Unlike the larger installation/station/capital ship variant, the Morut'yc'ika is designed to use the vehicle/starship's station
- Ship/Installation-wide Security Net
- Encrypted Comlink
- Encrypted Holocomm
- Comm Laser
- 'Manda' Tactical Battlenet Compatibility
- Life Support System Compatibility
- Personnel Database
STRENGTHS
- Safe: The system has a number of measures to discourage, neutralize and/or potentially kill would be intruders attempting to gain access to the starship/vehicle in question. Additionally, the system includes a number of safety measures, ensuring that by all accountable means it can keep the platform it is mounted on as safe as is possible.
- Resilient: The housing for all the system's various components is built to take all manner of damage, including but not limited to EMP/Ion, energy, concussive and kinetic.
- Secure: The system features a number of counter-slicing technologies and access control systems that make accessing the security terminal that controls its functions as difficult a prospect as is possible.
WEAKNESSES
- Platform dependent: The system's ability to detect and track intruders is based on the sensor, scanner, targeting and tracking systems used by the mounting platform.
- No Power: The system relies on the platform being placed in some manner of low power mode at a minimum to function given that it was made to protect vehicles/starships that are in use or are ready for immediate use rather than those in storage.
- No Automated Weapons: On platforms with no automated weapons, the system's lethal responses are notably limited.
- EMP/Ion: Particularly powerful EMP/Ion weapons can overwhelm the system's protection, especially if the system has taken some damage already.
DESCRIPTION
It is every pilot's worst nightmare. Your fighter is in the hangar, ready to soar into action. Then some di'kut aru'hutuun jumps in and makes a handy getaway. Or for some unknown reason you left your ship unattended on Nar Shaddaa, and predictably it wasn't there when you got back. Late to the small craft and vehicle security game, Breshig took a surprisingly minimalist approach to the design of their entrant into the segment. Rather than try and fit a whole suite of sensors, scanners, targeting systems, weapons and the like into the already packed frames of most vehicles/starfighters, the company decided to utilize existing aforementioned systems to detect and track potential intruders.
The Morut'yc'ika was designed to protect starships and vehicles that are made ready for use from intruders and saboteurs. When the system goes active, it taps into the platform's sensor, scanner, targeting and tracking suite and watches the area around the craft (the exact perimeter is user configurable) for any unauthorized personnel. At which point it will trigger the silent alarm. If the other alarms are not disabled by the user, the system will then sound them. At which point the system will attempt to take control of any gimballed or unmanned turrets, countermeasures and electronic warfare systems. On top of that, the system features a number of entrance denial systems should a potential intruder's approach not be noticed that are not easily disabled.
The housing for all the system's various components is built to take all manner of damage, including but not limited to EMP/Ion, energy, concussive and kinetic. This makes for a fully combat-rated system that won't be disabled by stray rounds or hard knocks that the mounting platform might be subjected to during combat. Additionally, the system features a comprehensive counter slicing and access control suite that make accessing the security terminal that controls its functions as difficult a prospect as is possible.
That said, the system is entirely dependent on the platform's own sensor, scanner, targeting and tracking suite to detect intruders. Additionally, on platforms with no automated weapons, the system's lethal responses to potential intruders are notably limited. The system was designed to function with the platform in some manner of low-power standby mode at the very minimal. It will not function with the mounting platform fully powered off. Finally, particularly powerful EMP/Ion weapons can overwhelm the system's protection, especially if the system has taken some damage already.
