SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Integrated Gyro-Gimbal
  • Three Fire Modes: The rifle possesses a semi-automatic, two-round burst and fully automatic fire modes.
  • Integrated Targeting Computer with HUD Linking Capability: The weapon features onboard targeting computer which has the ability to interface with HUD systems and provide provide compensation for various atmospheric conditions, and uses the HUD's binocular mode (if it has one, and is limited based on the weapon's own range when used in this mode) as a magnified optic. Heavy amounts of jamming doesn't affect this feature given proximity between the weapon and the user.
  • Variety of Ammunition: Breshig War Forge Consolidated produces a variety of ammunition for the weapon:
    • AP: Armor-piercing rounds with a depleted baradium core designed to act as a penetrator upon impact with armor.
    • HE: Deuterium detonator rounds designed to explode on contact with a hard surface.
    • Bronzium Full Metal Jacket Rounds: Bronzium jacketed rounds, standard ammunition for the weapon.
    • Electro-stun Round: Similar to electro-stun grenades but on a smaller scale, the electro-stun rounds are capable of immobilizing most humanoid targets with two or so impacts, whereupon they release an electric charge, though decidedly stubborn targets might require more rounds. These rounds are also not very effective against hard armored targets.
    • EMP: Micro-EMP rounds, unlikely to permanently damage a droid or armor systems, but capable of causing a momentary sensor lag or targeting system delay against unshielded systems. More of a distraction than anything else, though the best warriors know that even a second's worth of time on your enemy is well worth it.
    • AP-HE: Depleted baradium jacket with a deuterium charge designed to detonate on impact. Somewhat rarer and more expensive due to the higher depleted baradium content.
    • API: Armor-piercing rounds with a depleted baradium core and a blaster gas incendiary charge designed to detonate on impact.
    • SLAP: Saboted light armor penetrator round with a depleted baradium penetrator. Better at penetrating armor than a regular armor piercing round.
    • SLAP-HE: Works on the same principle as a SLAP round, only the rear end of the penetrator is given over to a deuterium explosive designed to detonate on impact.
STRENGTHS
  • Ignores Energy Shielding: While particle shielding will still stop a ripper round, energy shielding will strip the energy coating of a ripper round but allow the projectile to pass through.
  • Improved Penetration: Ripper rounds superheat the site of impact, allowing for improved penetration of armor.
  • Versatile: The variety of rounds available for the weapon make it highly versatile, able to engage a variety of targets.
  • Range: The weapon's range is impressive, and far longer than most repeating blaster equivalents.
WEAKNESSES
  • Heavy Ammunition: The ammunition for the weapon isn't exactly light either, making carrying large quantities of ammunition difficult, and after a certain point, nigh on impossible.'
  • Heavy: Of course, the weapon is far from light, reducing the mobility of its operator and reducing the amount of gear they can feasibly carry.
  • Unwieldy: In tight close quarters, the repeating ripper is far too unwieldy to use, and it would be better for the wielder to either drop it and/or switch to a secondary weapon.
  • Higher Degree of Competency Required: The Ripper is not a weapon for those who don't have a reasonable competency in marksmanship.
  • Two Consumables: Rippers require both gas as propellant and magazines to hold the solid slug ammunition.
DESCRIPTION
Developed to address the need for an infantry portable squad support weapon, the Repeating Ripper is Breshig War Forge Consolidated's answer to man portable light repeating blasters. As popular as the Repeating Ripper is, it hasn't eclipsed more common light repeating blaster offerings from other companies. However, in the day and age where shield generators are fairly common, the Repeating Ripper has proven itself to be fairly popular. Whether engaging light vehicles, heavy infantry or large numbers of light infantry it has proven to be quite capable.

Like with the two ripper weapons that preceded it, the weapon features a lightweight Duranium frame and a Dallorian alloy barrel increase the weapon's service life by being durable and mitigating any potential overheating issues. The weapon features an gyro-gimbal to assist with with balance, sighting, and recovering from recoil. This feature is particularly useful when using the weapon's full auto feature.

The Repeating Ripper featured a onboard targeting computer, which could interface with HUD systems and provide provide compensation for various atmospheric conditions. It uses the HUD's binocular mode (if it has one, and is limited based on the weapon's own range when used in this mode) as a magnified optic.

The downside to using a ripper is that unlike a blaster or a verpine shatter weapon, one needs to be a capable marksman. Merely firing in the general direction of the enemy will not be very effective, and will deplete the limited magazine quickly. Additionally, the ammunition is heavier than a powerpack for a repeating blaster even though it affords the weapon a higher capacity. This is not to mention the Ripper's requirement for both gas and solid slug ammunition to function.
