SPECIAL FEATURES​

• Universal: The holster can have a variety of weapons, melee, sidearms and so on as long as they can magnetically attach to the holster.
• Multi Mount: The holster can attach to a utility belt, load-bearing rig, thigh armor plate, shin plate via hooks and a gription panel.
• HUD Link: The holster is designed for use in armor systems with integrated power, heads up display and the like. To be able to draw the weapon, that is to release the magnetic lock, the user must do so via their HUD. That said, even a HUD eyepiece or something similar, provided it has the compatible communication systems can be used.
• Magnetically Accelerated Assisted Quick-draw: The user can configure the holster to electromagnetically launch the weapon 'up'. The precise distance the weapon can be launched is calculated by the system based on the weapon's weight and estimated center of gravity. The user can then choose how far they would like the weapon launched.

STRENGTHS​

• Convenient: The holster can accept a variety of weapons and can mount to a variety of platforms, making it very convenient to use. Additionally, this method of stowage prevents other issues with the draw process, such as parts of the weapon catching on the holster.
• Quick Draw: The holster's quick draw feature notably increases the draw speed of the user, especially if they have gloves or a gauntlet with a magnetic grip function.
• Retention: The holster keeps the weapon from bring drawn without the user's express wishes to do so as long as it has power to run the magnet.

WEAKNESSES​

• Limited, Not None: While the holster has a very limited power draw, it does still draw power and requires the user to keep its power cell topped up.
• Whoops, I Missed: A number of factors can result in the magnetically accelerated assisted quick-draw going wrong and the user messing up their draw, resulting in a number of potentially hilarious, though likely disastrous situations.
• Exposed: The weapon isn't kept safe in a protective sleeve or covering like with a lot of other holsters and is instead exposed the elements and other potential sources of damage.

DESCRIPTION​

Creatively named the electromagnetic holster, the holster was designed for Strill Securities troops who previously had used a magnetic strip built into their armor to secure their weapons. Breshig War Forge Consolidated worked closely with members of their subsidiary company to develop a solution that was not only universal, but was convenient and reliable. The resulting system could attach to a utility belt, load-bearing rig, thigh armor plate, shin plate via hooks and a gription panel. Of course, since it was designed for use by personnel wearing sealed, powered armor, the method to defeat the retention mechanism was through the armor's HUD.​

The other issue is that the weapon isn't kept safe in a protective sleeve or covering like with a lot of other holsters and is instead exposed the elements and other potential sources of damage. The convenience factor cannot be ignored, however. The holster can accept a variety of weapons and can mount to a variety of platforms, making it very convenient to use. Additionally, this method of stowage prevents other issues with the draw process, such as parts of the weapon catching on the holster. Lastly, the holster essentially prevents the weapon being taken from the user and used on them. The holster keeps the weapon from bring drawn without the user's express wishes to do so as long as it has power to run the magnet. ​
