SPECIAL FEATURES
- Integrated Targeting Computer with HUD Linking Capability: The weapon features onboard targeting computer which has the ability to interface with HUD systems and provide provide compensation for various atmospheric conditions, and uses the HUD's binocular mode (if it has one, and is limited based on the weapon's own range when used in this mode) as a magnified optic. Heavy amounts of jamming doesn't affect this feature given proximity between the weapon and the user.
- Integrated Bipod and Monopod: In order to brace the heavy weapon to take some of the weight off the shooter's hands, it features an integrated bipod and monopod.
- Integrated Gyro-gimbal: In order to better balance the weapon both before and after firing a shot, a gyro-gimbal was integrated into it.
- Integrated Barrel Cryo Cooling Lattice: A Dallorian alloy barrel alone isn't enough to keep the weapon from overheating and damaging its barrel, so a cryo cooling lattice was integrated into its construction.

- AP: Armor-piercing rounds with a depleted baradium core designed to act as a penetrator upon impact with armor.
- HE: Deuterium detonator rounds designed to explode on contact with a hard surface with a half a meter blast radius.
- AP-HE: Depleted baradium jacket with a deuterium charge designed to detonate on impact. Somewhat rarer and more expensive due to the higher depleted baradium content.
- SLAP: Saboted light armor penetrator round with a depleted baradium penetrator. Better at penetrating armor than a regular armor piercing round.
- SLAP-HE: Works on the same principle as a SLAP round, only the rear end of the penetrator is given over to a deuterium explosive designed to detonate on impact.
- Electro-stun Round: Similar to electro-stun grenades but on a smaller scale, the electro-stun rounds are capable of immobilizing most humanoid targets only about two or so impacts, whereupon they release an electric charge, though decidedly stubborn targets might require more rounds. These rounds are also not comparatively effective against hard armored targets.
- EMP: Micro-EMP rounds capable of forcing a reboot of sensor or targeting systems in shielded systems and shutting down said systems in unshielded systems.

STRENGTHS
- Armor-Piercing: The rounds fired by this weapon have a higher chance of penetrating armor and causing significant internal damage than traditional slugthrowers.
- Whisper Quiet: Like all Verpine Shatter weapons, the SR-2M Verpine Shatter Sniper Rifle is whisper quiet at the point of the shooter, only a very faint whistle may be heard in the event of a near miss.
- Pinpoint Accurate: Like most Verpine weapons, the rifle is extremely accurate.
- Versatile: The variety of rounds available for the weapon make it highly versatile, able to engage a variety of targets.
- Resilient: The rifle's frame is well protected against most sources of damage on the battlefield.
- Low-profile: The weapon's reflec coating makes it difficult to detect by visual means as well as difficult to detect via sensors.
WEAKNESSES
- Heavy Ammunition: The ammunition for the rifle isn't exactly light either, making carrying large quantities of ammunition difficult.
- Large Weapon: Maneuvering this weapon in close quarters is very difficult, and carrying the heavy weapon does reduce the mobility of the wielder to a degree.
- Small Ammunition Capacity: Equivalent high end blaster precision rifles have a higher capacity.
- EMP/Ion Vulnerability: Despite the attempt to protect the weapon's sensitive electronics, a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon will fry the acceleration coils and render the weapon useless.
DESCRIPTION
The SR-2ME-GA is a modified version of the company's highly successful SR-2M Verpine Shatter Sniper Rifle. Taking the proven and reliable design of the SR-2M, the modified variant differs in few regards. For one the weapon features a reflec coating that lowers both its visual and sensor signature. Unfortunately, the one side effect of the Alliance's production requirements was the inability to replicate the original's stopping power due to a reduction in accelerator coils to maintain cost-effectiveness.
Like the previous version, the best traits of the weapon are its stealth, accuracy, stopping power and versatility. Like the weapon that it is based on, the SR-2ME-GA is largely unchanged in functioning and characteristics from a standard verpine shatter weapon except in a notable regard: it is hardened for the rigors of battlefield use, including against EMP and Ion weapons. The weapon also features a number of features that make it more convenient to operate. This includes but is not limited to an integrated bipod and monopod as well as an an integrated gyrostabilizer. The integrated gyrostabilizer balances the weapon relative to the nearest perpendicular surface and reduces the felt weight of the weapon using a micro-repulsor. This allows a user to fire the large and heavy weapon, standing up, rather than being required to brace it before firing. In order not to melt the barrel from heat generated by firing, it makes use of an advanced cryo cooling lattice, which can be configured to keep the weapon's temperature at the same temperature as the environment around it.
Unlike some variants of the Verpine Shatter Rifle, this rifle doesn't support nor feature the multi caliber barrel and magazine. Additionally, while hardened against EMP/Ion damage, a powerful enough pulse can and will fry the weapon's accelerator assembly. The weapon's weight is heavier than many of its contemporaries, though this is more than made up for by many of the benefits the weapon offers. Finally, as with almost every single solid projectile weapon, the comparative lack of ammunition capacity is a noted disadvantage. In the particular case of the SR-2M and the export configuration, the ammunition is notably heavy and most unaided humanoids are limited in how much they may carry.
