SPECIAL FEATURES​

• Integrated Targeting Computer with HUD Linking Capability: The weapon features onboard targeting computer which has the ability to interface with HUD systems and provide provide compensation for various atmospheric conditions, and uses the HUD's binocular mode (if it has one, and is limited based on the weapon's own range when used in this mode) as a magnified optic. Additionally, compatible ordnance can be set to airburst over a target. Heavy amounts of jamming doesn't affect this feature given proximity between the weapon and the user.
• Smart Ammunition Detection: The system can recognize a wide variety of ammunition and allows the user to designate what round is in what chamber of the cylinder if it is unable to recognize it.
• Detachable Retractable Stock

STRENGTHS​

• Weapon on Target: With the UML-01, the operator doesn't have to take their hands or a hand off their primary weapon to fire a micro-missile or a rocket dart, thereby enabling them to keep their weapon on target with a steady grip.
• Versatile: A wide variety of micro-missiles, micro-rockets and rocket darts can be loaded into and fired from the weapon.
• Ammunition Capacity: The UML-01 holds more ammunition than most vambrace mounted launchers.

WEAKNESSES​

• Underbarrel: The launcher has the potential to make the balance of a weapon that it is attached to awkward, which can be problematic in close quarters.
• Boom: A penetrating shot could potentially set off the ordnance loaded in the weapon.

Designed to give troops the convenience of being able to bring the utility of micro-rockets or micro-missiles to bear without having to take their hands off their weapon, the UML-01 manages to do so whilst also putting a larger ammunition store at the user's disposal and without adding extraneous weight or being inconveniently sized. The weapon was quickly rushed into service prior to the Sith invasion of the Mandalore sector and was put into great use against Sith forces during the evacuation of Breshig where the utility it afforded offered a respite to beleaguered Strill Securities and Breshig clans forces.​

The relatively compact size makes it perfect for use with full-size rifles, though less so with smaller carbines and short-barreled rifles. The weapon's retractable stock has a convenient tri-lug locking mechanism that allows it to be attached and detached at the user's convenience, making its overall length that much shorter and making it's use with aforementioned shorter weapons somewhat more convenient. The additional weight does still have a tendency to upset a weapon's balance, however, making its use in close quarters somewhat awkward.​
