- Description: Tall, with a heavy build and rows of teeth meant for crushing bones most stay clear of any Brevirostrains if they see one. They look intimidating and they most definitely are to look at let alone to be in the towering presence.
- Breathes: Type I
- Average Height of Adults: 3.5m
- Females: Up to 3.8m
- Males: Up to 5.2m
- Females have been recorded to be taller than 3.8m with the tallest being registered at 4.3m, while the tallest male being recorded at 6.1m.
- Average Length of Adults: N/A
- Skin Color: Name, Race [Commonality] (Hex Code)
- Onyx/Gainsboro, Alligatoroans [Very Common] (353839/DCDCDC)
- Black Olive/Dim Grey, Alligatoroans [Common] (3B3C36/696969)
- Dark Moss Green/Dark Slate Grey, Alligatoroans [Uncommon] (4A5D23/2F4F4F)

- Note darker variants of brown along with lighter variants of green have been seen among the Crocodylians. Darker shades of black along with lighter grey-green shades are seen among the Alligatoroans. The above are simply the most notable combinations seen among the Breviostrians. It is also worth noting that dark side corruption turns scales into unnatural shades of red and purple, while light side purification turns scales to an unnatural white and blue.
- Hair Color: None
- Distinctions: Alligatoroii snouts are wider and shorter than that of their Crocodylii brethren, a U-shape muzzle compared to the V-shape. Crocodylii’s top and bottom teeth are more visible than that of the Alligatoroii. Another distinction is their size, something not quite as easy to spot as both reaches relatively the same height. However, the Alligatoroii are wider with smaller but thicker muscular arms, their legs are also slightly smaller and thicker. This translates into the Alligatoroii being slower than the Crocodylii but what they lack in speed they make up for in brute force. Crocodylii are slightly more slender with longer limbs and are able to run faster, and move quicker than the Alligatoroii.
- Races:
- Alligatoroii // Alligatoroans [Featured]
- Crocodylii // Crocodylians [Featured]
- Caimaninaii // Caimanians [Not Featured]
- Gavialiinaii // Gavialinians [Not Featured]
- Force Sensitivity: Standard
- Presence: It would be hard to miss a Breviostrian, a mass of scale and muscle with enough weight to make even the most hardy of warriors rethink their approach.
- Aquatic: Breviostrian boasts a natural ability to hold their breath underwater for up to four hours without any equipment.
- Nightvision: Breviostrians can see just as well at night as they can during the day.
- Flexible: The assumption that they’re not flexible is wrong, you can test your theory by attempting to grab one by the tail.
- Plate Scales: Brevirostrians have naturally thick scales, so thick that it is rumored to be able to withstand blows from beskar.
- Size: Breviostrians are massive in size, making it easier for smaller and faster animals to gain the upper hand, most especially on land.
- Land: On average, Breviostrians are actually quite slow on land, even with their size it takes time to build up to a proper pace. This allows creatures to out run them on foot or take advantage and press the attack.
- Eyes: Like most creatures attacking them in the eyes is going to cause damage. For Breviostrians it’s enough to stun/cause paralysis for up to thirty seconds at a time, or longer depending on the weapon utilized.
- Temperature: Breviostrians are unable to generate their own heat and are quite vulnerable to cold or cryo weaponry. Typically during colder months they retreat to their burrows and hibernate. Thus the result of reducing the temperature or attacking them with cold/cryo weapons generally results in their bodies shutting down.
- Diet: Hypercarnivores, Brevirostrians’ dietary needs are 70% meat with the rest of their diet being made of fruits, or fungi.
- Communication: Brevirostrians communicate through a variety of ways, as younglings they often chirp. These chirps help their parents locate them, surprisingly, no matter how many younglings may chirp a Brevirostrian is uniquely tuned to their young. Infrasonic sounds are also utilized through bellows, and of course, there are hisses. Brevirostrians are on the whole quite vocal, and have been taught Galactic Basic by the First Order. However, their words have accents and leanings that can make it hard for someone to understand them. Prior to the Fall of the First Order, there was an attempt to help translate some of their vocalizations into a written language that would assist in communication.
- Only some of the Brevirostrians can comprehend basic, the rest do not read or write it as it is not necessary for Brevirostrians to do so. Most if not all of their history and understanding of their environment is steeped in oral traditions.
- OOC: Accents can be heard as Australian for Crocodylii, Alligatorians often sound like the ‘NASCAR’ Accent or the Floridian ‘Southern’ Accents. However this is not universal, some Crocodylii depending on where on Mephout can have Egyptian accents, while Alligatorians can have a Cajun or Creole accent as opposed to the aforementioned Floridian accent. The Caimanians and Gavialinans also have different accents, with Caimanians having South American accents, and Gavialianians may have Indian/Pakistani, and Southeast Asian accents such as Myanmar, Malaysia. However understanding any of them is a lot harder due to their traditional vocalization so they speak with extra consonants in their words, if they are able to speak basic at all. Essentially anywhere, where you would find one of these creatures IRL is where they may draw their accent from. This information is strictly flavor but should help you ‘hear’ the Breviostrians speak.
- Technology level: Prior to the Lords of the Fringe, the Brevirostrians had been in an Industrial Era of technology. However, thanks to both the Lords of the Fringe and the First Order, Breviorstrian Society was catapulted into what is now an early Space Era.
- Religion/Beliefs: Polytheistic, the Breviostrians have numerous deities and have an established Pantheon, however; there is no official religion. As some are agnostic, while others have chosen monotheism, the Great Saurian. This has caused something of a divide within their society. Many believe the Force to be a gift of ‘magick’ bestowed either by their gods/god. Agnostic Brevirostrians who paid attention to Sieger’s teachings know that it is not magick, and have a basic understanding of the Force.
- Naming Conventions:
- Males: Typically have SH’s or A’s in the name.
- Females: Commonly use A’s, NA’s or IS’s.
- General Behavior: Brevirostrians are strong-willed, loyal and quite prideful; they are naturally distrusting of outsiders. Nor do they take to ‘friendship’ easily, but can be achieved after years of trust. These years of trust reveal the softer side of Brevirostrians who care deeply for their allies. They prefer to live around swamps and marshes and prefer to build their own homes rather than inherit them. Exiles often live around rivers and tributaries.
They live in villages made of ‘clusters’ or eight families who make up the majority of the inhabitants of the village. Brevirostrians live in a matrilineal society, thus the males often work to win the heart of powerful matrons. They often do this in what is essentially a dance-off, where infrasonic sounds are used to create low-frequency vibrations that appear as ‘water dances’ where water moves due to the low-frequency vibrations. There are times where this is not viable and marriages are arranged between families often for political or financial reasons.
However; Brevirostrians do not mate for life, and so while they may ‘marry’ it is not uncommon for females to find other suitors or mates. Unmarried males have a harder time finding mates than married ones, as being married shows that the male is capable of domestic life and will protect their younglings. Additionally, it's not too too uncommon to see unmarried males cohabitating (while waiting for marriage, usually), and females to be married to each other.
Clusters tend to raise their younglings together with matrons having the final say in how the younglings are brought up. Younglings are encouraged to form their own cluster or family and pressure is applied to females to prove themselves worthy matriarchs and leaders. Younglings do not attend school as much as they train for specific trades from an early age. They are required to learn at least three trades, so that in case of illness, death or other crises they are able to keep their village maintained. Most Brevirostrians don’t fully mature until the age of thirty and don’t understand the need to kick their young out at an early age.
Breviostrians are noted from what records the Lords of the Fringe and the First Order left behind, they are noted as wonderful musicians. Their hearing is acutely in tune with the finite decibels, and octaves a song may need or have. While they prefer music with deep bass they enjoy a wide range of music and have their own unique folk songs that center around drums. They also enjoy a good soak, and need it to be quite frank. They soak in water for at least a standard galactic day if not two, they also take joy from rolling in the mud and have fully equipped and staffed mudhouses for bath soaks and rolls.
The species is naturally aggressive and has no problem showing this to outsiders. Within themselves and those they trust they are quite jovial, even pranksters, they’re also very blunt and have little tact. They love contact sports and have built their own arenas dedicated to it, the more blood - the better. If someone dies, then they live in eternal glory. However, to shame a loser is to shame yourself as the Brevirostrians say. The so-called loser participated and fought valiantly. Notes also point to Brevirostrians having a great disdain for bullies, as such the old First Order had even some members of the Fringe had trouble gaining their trust. Some of them simply never returned from their trip, it’s rumored they were murdered and/or eaten. The former is most likely, as the Brevirostrians note most humanoids to be too tasteless or disgusting to eat.
Finally, the notes that remain indicate that the species places importance on family and the cluster. It is considered a great dishonor worthy of exile should one ignore the call for help from one or the other. They are only as strong as the next person beside them. They consider weakness to be a natural part of life and should not be hidden away. The First Order modeled their own disabilities policy based on how the Brevirostrians cared for one another.- Other Brevirostrians: While Alligatoroans and Crocodylians have been the heart of this document, there are types of Brevirostrians who follow similar diets, religious beliefs and share in the same language as the featured pair. It should be noted that both Caimanians and Gavialinians are smaller than their kin.
Caimanians do not like fish and prefer fowl, insects and small mammals. Their eyes are very sensitive to light and are thus nocturnal. They're also known to hibernate during the summer season. Gavialians are piscivores and eat only fish, but enjoy crustaceans as snacks. However; when fish and crustaceans are scarce they will eat insects, snakes, and scavenge carcasses left behind by their bigger kin. Because of this, Gavialians make excellent death trackers.
The smaller of the Brevirostrians tend to live in their own villages and clusters around their larger kin’s villages. They're known for their speed and their handiness and are often the go-to for repair, builds and other construction projects.

Information about the Breviostrians began to surface during the time of the Lords of the Fringe. However, given the priorities of the Fringe there was never much information about them to go around or make them a perceived threat to the rest of the known galaxy. By the time the First Order came along, they too had other priorities but began construction on several quarantine facilities that are when they met the Breviostrians in open hostility.
Very few members of the then First Order were able to genuinely meet with and study the Brevirostrians. There they learned that some of the Brevirostrians had been taken for one reason or another, including but limited to exploitation and experimentation by a variety of groups that had come through Mephout. Thus their natural distrust of outsiders grew, and while the handful of First Imperials were able to help soften this opinion - their distrust remains.
When the Ssi-Ruuvi invaded Mephout and attempted to take the world, they found themselves at the mercy of a well trained, well-organized fighting force. It was noted that while the Brevirostrians are quite capable fighters - the force that the Ssi-Ruuvi encountered was a little too organized. Recent logs from the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium’s encounter reveal that there may have been a Knight or Master of Ren along with First Imperial Military members that seemed to have a hand in this.
While the Ssi-Ruuvi were unable to take the planet, they were able to cause mass destruction on a global scale. Isolating and effectively leaving the members of the First Order there stranded. The Brevirostrians and Mephout as a whole continue to remain silent, as they try to couple together what they have and rebuild their society so that the First Order’s people can have contact with their society once more.
What information has been found regarding the Brevirostrians is far and few between. Most of the information pertaining to the Brevirostrians has been lost to corrupted files or have been purposefully erased.
