- Tesla’s Flying Hammer: In addition to simply firing slugs, the Brionelle’s electric charge hammer may imbue custom projectiles with varying voltages. Regardless of where such a projectile contacts a target, it releases a charge capable of stunning or potentially frying a target’s nervous system.

- Flammable: Due to the Brionelle’s primarily wooden outer shell and the electrical systems inside, damage to the weapon either from hostile fire or a malfunction of machinery can generate fires, potentially causing extreme harm for the user.

The years of demoralization following the One Sith’s occupation of Chandrila saw immense deliberation in its defense forces. The calls of the admiralty brought forth ventures into augmenting the planet’s starship production, seeing to the creation of Concordance Shipyards and a brand new line of Chandrilan vessels. From Defense Command’s ground-based installations, generals ordered modernization in the Chandrilan Army. New names appeared on the rosters, new formations equipped with new loadouts. Brand new technologies such as the Brionelle-pattern rifle were driven from factories and placed in the hands of a new generation of soldiers.
The Brionelle was designed first and foremost for its extreme stopping power. Offset from and suspended above the rifle’s trigger was its hammer. A curved line of metal mounted on ratchets, the hammer would send a jolt of current into the rifle’s ammunition chamber when activated. Once fired, the bullet was to carry the charge till the moment it made contact with its target, releasing a pulse of electricity that could either stun or kill a human being, or perhaps disable networks of machinery. The sheer offensive potential and range capabilities of the Brionelle made the rifle especially favored among Chandrila’s more unorthodox forces– rangers, special forces, militias, and roaming units. Well-placed shots could often disable pirate equipment, vehicles, and otherwise dismantle such operations.
But the Brionelle was ultimately a tool too specialized for common use. It’s slow-firing, overtly lethal nature left it ill-suited to riot control or any other duties closer to the core of Chandrilan civilization. Its firing rate and employment of solid projectiles similarly made it impractical and detrimental for use in marine boarding actions or shipboard. But on the frontiers of Chandrilan territory, against isolated parties of pirates or against hostile military threats, the rifle could be described as a godsend. Its affinity toward sudden, decisive strikes served to mark the Brionelle as a symbol of the security force’s readiness, its determination, to defend the planet.
