D O M I N U S
Intent: To create a minor source of electricity friendly to "Witch" themes.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Isley Verd
Model: Briya'chite
Affiliation: House Verd, the Witchmasters
Modularity: None
Production: Limited
Material: Alchemized Crystal
Special Features:
"Briya'chite", roughly translated as "Lightning Crystal", is an attempt by Isley Verd to bridge the gap between two worlds. On one hand is Dathomir: a world steeped in nature and Magick. On the other is the "civilized" Galaxy, which teems with the advances of technology. Briya'chite exists as a means of bringing some semblance of modernity to the Witch culture through a small, alchemical step.
Having spent the overwhelming majority of his lifetime devoted to Alchemy, Isley was able to expand upon one of the Art's foundational traits to form Briya'chite. Utilizing a standard Sith Sword as an example, the process by which the elementary weapon is created generally results in an uncanny relationship with Force-based electricity. This relationship manifests as the Sword's ability to attract, absorb, store, and release said electricity upon exposure. When applied to this undertaking, the aforementioned, foundational trait was altered and applied upon a handful of synthetic crystals; thereby resulting in a new, benign affect. Briya'chite boasts the ability to absorb and store ambient electromagnetic radiation for release as a renewable power source.
Electromagnetic radiation, as most are aware, is in exceptional supply and would make a fitting source of power for members of the Witch culture. However, while the supply is arguably unlimited, the capacity of the crystals is not. In fact, the total energy capable of being stored is directly proportional to the size of the crystal itself. Overcharging is not an option. In order to power basic amenities, such as a basic light fixture, a single crystal would suffice. However, anything larger would require the incorporation of additional crystals or a larger crystal treated with the altered trait.
For the time being, the synthetic crystals produced are of lightsaber-core variety and will be capable of tasks comparable to powering small electronics. They can be compared to basic power cells, even.
All in all, Briya'chite is an alchemist's way of lighting up a world.
