Objective: Survival
Sometime after the battle on Empress Teta...
While the battle for Empress Teta was lost, Jedi, soldiers, and even civilians still worked hard to evacuate and help as many people as they could. Families were retrieved from collapsed apartment buildings, people were loaded onto military ships for evacuation to nearby worlds, and even a Jedi had been found in the aftermath of the battle. His injuries were severe, consisting of lightsaber cuts across his chest, numerous bone fractures, and punctured lungs, but somehow he had survived.
Now, he was resting in his bed aboard the medical frigate tasked with taking him and other survivors away from the front.

"You sure there isn't anything I can get you?" the young and friendly nurse asked as she looked at Kyell with a kind smile.
Kyell just shook his head and tried his best to smile in return, but it was a weak attempt at best.
"Alright, just let me know if you do. This button above your bed can summon a nurse."
He just nodded again and looked up at the ceiling as the woman departed from his room to give him some space. There was honestly nothing he really wanted right now — even playing music wasn't on his mind. Perhaps the only thing that could cheer him up was seeing a familiar face again... if she decided against killing him, anyway. The fear that he had disappointed her lingered in his mind, and for some reason felt stronger with each passing minute.
Was she closer than he thought she was?

Stomping through the halls of the medical ship, Ara was a mess of tears and anger as she looked for the mute brat of a boy. Her entire being felt like pain from all the crying, fighting and training to try and keep her emotions in check. The first blow was the fate of Sol'yan Sol'yan and what she learned of him. As far as she understood... he was dead. Slain by the Sith as he tried to protect the people. There was no body, but also no record of him being found alive. For all intents and purposes, he was missing presumed dead. The closest thing she ever had to a father figure, her master and mentor, her guide to being a better person... was dead.

The second blow was learning of a patient onboard the vessel, a name she never expected to see on the list. Kyell Laysel of all people, fought the Sith and pretty much wound up half dead as well. She wasn't sure why she was brimming with unbridled rage over the thought of him being onboard as a patient, but she was going to finish what the sith started the moment she managed to track him down. That being said, she was having a hard time finding his damned room.

When she finally found the correct hallway, she marched down to his door and smashed the controls, sliding the door open. The sight of the battered boy on the bed caused her to tense for a moment with wide, bloodshot eyes, before she marched towards him with a fist raised. "Kyell, you karking nerf herder!" She barked, bringing her fist down against his jaw with no intention of going soft on him. "You karkin' flew off to go on a damn suicide mission, without even sending me a message?!" She shouted at him, gripping the collar of his gown as she leaned in close, tears streaming down her face as she glared at him.

Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions as she held onto him, a fist raised to hit him again. But her shoulders sagged and the hand dropped to wipe her eyes. "You could have at least told me, dammit! You got a karkin' datapad for a reason!" Her voice cracked as she let go, instead smashing the bottom of her fist against the durasteel wall of the ship. "I don't need to lose you as well today, for kark's sake!" She held onto her hand as she pulled back and turned to face him, the pain coursing through was far more bearable than what she was feeling. With a shaky hand she fished out her datapad and smacked it against his chest with no regard for his bandaged injuries.

"You better have a damn good reason for me to not throw the entire Jedi rulebook out the window right now." She muttered with a whimper, fighting hard to keep the tears back. But it was a hopeless battle.

Kyell took a deep breath as he looked around his room and shifted in his bed. It was comfortable enough but after even just a few hours of laying still, he was getting really bored. On a ship like this, there wasn't a window with a good outside view, nor could he get some fresh air anywhere.
Playing music was out of the question too.
Maybe I could-
He stopped very suddenly at the sound of footsteps, but more importantly, the presence in the Force he sensed... Ara Sheridan Ara Sheridan was somehow here, and he could feel her anger. Watching her knock open the door, he gulped and his eyes widened as she approached his bed with a fire in her eyes that actually scared him.
"Kyell, you karking nerf herder!"
Yeah, I deserve that.
Then the fist struck his jaw, causing his head to rock away to the side from the impact. His teeth cut into his lips and when he looked back at her, blood was already running down his lips.
That one too...
"You karkin' flew off to go on a damn suicide mission, without even sending me a message?!"
Kyell looked at her with a frown and feared that another couple of punches were inbound. He honestly wouldn't have blamed her for it either, but the sadness about what happened seemed to overpower the anger she felt, and the woman continued to speak. She was in pain, he could feel that... and he was partially to blame for it too.
Nothing felt worse than that.
Ara then tossed a datapad against his chest, causing him to briefly fold over forward from the pain, but he collected himself and looked at her, rather than the datapad. He had really hoped that his first words to her would be under better circumstances, and perhaps even something memorable.
But as his mind connected with hers, there was really only one thing he could say.
<T> "I'm so sorry, Ara."
He shifted over to the side of the bed and reached for the hand she had just slammed into the wall, hoping to take it so he could gently move his fingers over the reddened skin.
<T> "I didn't say anything because I didn't want to scare you, and that's exactly what I did. There's no excuse for it," he admitted in shame.

Upon hearing a strange voice, Ara tensed up and turned to look behind her. There was nobody else in the room, no doctor or nurses or droids that could have spoken up. As she felt his hand take hold of hers, she looked back to him and listened to the strange voice in her head. She froze up entirely for a few moments with wide eyes, trying to comprehend what was happening to her. When she finally came to a conclusion that it was, in fact, Kyell talking to her through telepathy, her harsh frown returned and she yanked her hand back.

"You can talk?!" She burst. "Since when?!" Without hesitation she snatched her datapad back and shoved it into her robes. "You and my master are the same! Not saying anything, y'all just kark off and go die for... what?! There's a difference between saving the galaxy and going on a suicide mission!" She shouted as tears started to roll again. She was tired, frustrated from all the crying. Tired from putting her trust in others only to watch them disappear. With a hard sniff she looked away from him for a moment. But as her gaze returned to meet his, her features softened for a moment. She already lost her Master... but Kyell was still there. Someone who she had grown to care a great deal about. Someone she started to see as something more than simply a friend... he was alive, and he was still there, trying to make things right with her.

With another sniff she turned to the refresher and came back with some paper, immediately starting to wipe the blood from his lips. "I lost my karking master, Kyell... I don't need to lose you as well." She muttered as she sat next to him on the bed, roughly wiping the blood away and adjusting his robes. "I li..." She paused, unable to say something as garbage as that aloud. "I don't got many people I care about... plus, you still gotta teach me to play guitar." A faint smile managed to crack through the misery and grief as she spared a look at his eyes. "Now karkin' use those funky powers already, I ain't borrowing you my datapad after this stunt." She managed to comment, wiping her tears away as she simply sat in silence.

Rather awkwardly, she reached out and took hold of his hand. "What were you thinking, Kyell?" She asked softly.

For a moment, Kyell just watched her as the surprise of the voice within her mind struck the woman. It was to be expected — he had never gotten the chance to tell her yet, and she certainly wasn't used to hearing his voice. So the way she looked around to find the source didn't bother him, but when her eyes returned, he did blink in surprise.
That anger was there again, and she snatched the datapad away from his hands.
It would have been easier now to just talk to her telepathically, but out of habit, he remained quiet and gave her the time to get anything off her chest. Like before, her words really made him realize how much his decision had hurt someone he cared about, which in turn showed how much she had grown to care about him as well.
"I lost my karking master, Kyell... I don't need to lose you as well."
He frowned and sat still as she wiped the blood from his lips and adjusted his robes. But when she finished, he turned to her and tried his best to smile in return, <T> "I'm so sorry about your Master, and that I scared you." Normally, her taking his hand would have gotten him to burn bright red, and while he felt those emotions, his desire to comfort her a little was much stronger.
<T> "I just... wanted to not feel weak and helpless for once." His free hand then shifted up to gently wipe away a tear, <T> "But I shouldn't have gone without saying something. I hope you can forgive me?"
He let the question linger for a moment, then added, <T> "It's going to be hard to teach you how to play guitar otherwise." He smirked a little and brought his other hand over hers, holding it between both of his for a moment. He wasn't the best at joking around or being playful, but he wanted to see her smile more than anything.

For the briefest moment, a smile remained on her lips as she looked at him, but it disappeared again as she scooted closer to him with her hand holding onto his. "They killed him, Kyell. I felt it, the separation. The only person in my life that acted like a dad... and they killed him." She explained softly, wiping at her eyes. "And then you... you scared me. I don't wanna lose you too." She looked away for a moment as she cleared her throat.

"You ain't weak, Kyell. You're a better Jedi than I ever could be... but you ain't a karkin' master. That fight isn't ours yet. I like you, dude. I really like you... but we won't help anyone if we go and get ourselves killed 'cause we wanna prove something to ourselves." Her grip on his hand tightened as she stared at him. "Please... don't do that again. You're... I don't want to lose you too." She pulled her hand from his and leaned down to hug him as carefully as she could without pressing down on his wounds.

After a long hug she let go of him and stood up. "Get some rest. I'll be here. But seriously, relax and rest up, you got knocked around bad." She insisted with concern as she practically tucked him in.

Kyell smiled briefly and faintly when Ara took his hand, but he noticed the shift in her emotions, and quickly wiped it off his face while he listened to her talk about what happened to her Master. He himself never had one, so that relationship isn't something he truly understands, but it's easy enough to realize the importance of such a person, <T> "You're not going to lose me, I promise," he said, knowing that it was one hell of a promise to make these days.
But seeing her like this... it was too painful, so he was going to have to put in the effort to make it back.
A moment of silence then lingered between them, and he'd give her that moment to look away and clear away the sadness that could otherwise overwhelm her ability to speak. But when she turned back and spoke to him, he frowned lightly and felt the grip on his hand tighten for a moment, <T> "I won't do it again, and I'll be better at communicating." he said and despite the pain in his body, Kyell leaned closer and into the hug. His arms wrapped around her back and for a long moment, he just kept her close.
She could likely feel that his body ached, but it wasn't going to stop him now.
<T> "When I'm on my feet again, I'll make up for what happened," he paused and watched her tuck him in. But before she could go, his mind reached out to hers again, <T> "And Ara? I uh, really care a lot about you. I'm also here for you, anytime." He wasn't sure if it would sound weird or awkward, but at least he was being genuine, and so was the smile that he offered her.

Ara shuddered as his arm wrapped around her and held her close. The fact that she could feel him pushing through his pain was not lost on her, and it was something she greatly appreciated in her broken moment. He continued to speak with his telepathic voice, reassuring her that he was going to make it up to her. She didn't care what he said, simply hearing a reassuring voice was enough comfort to her. He was still there, he was still alive, that was all that mattered.

His next statement froze her for a moment. She stared at him with concern and nervousness, unsure of what to say back to him in the moment. A long sigh escaped as she took hold of his hand again and held it tightly for a long moment. "Can it." She muttered with a sniff. "The only one who needs help now is you. So cut the tough guy stuff and let me look after you." She grumbled as she let go and pulled the blanket over his chest, making sure that he was comfortable.

It was likely the most unglamorous way to tell him that she also cared about him, more than almost anyone else in the galaxy. But telling him that she cared for him, that he was her closest friend and likely the only person after her mom and Master that she would kill and die for, was simply not something she figured out yet. So she did it as best she could in her own way that she knew.

As she finished puffing up his pillow, she snuck in a gentle kiss on his cheek before she turned away to dim the lights for him. "Now sleep, numbskull. I'll be here if you need anything." She spoke up as she dropped into a nearby chair close to his bed. A few long moments of silence lingered from her before she cleared her throat. "And Kyell? I'm... I'm glad you're okay." She muttered softly as she sunk in the seat.

A few minutes later and an obnoxiously loud snore filled the room as her head draped over the backrest of the chair.

"Can it."
He blinked and just stared at her for a moment while she squeezed his hand — she was right about him being the one needing help right now, but he still stood behind what he said earlier. Not that he was going to argue with her right now; the last thing he wanted was to get punched again.
<T> "Fine, fine... I'll accept it."
A smirk appeared on his lips when she helped him with his blanket. But that's also when he noticed something about her — that caring side behind her own tough exterior was really strong. Showing it was maybe not the easiest thing to her, and it has never been a strength of him either, but it was just something you could feel. Even without the Force.
<T> "Numbskull, huh?" he grinned but mostly to hide the blush from the kiss she pressed against his cheek. Luckily she dimmed the lights right after, which made it a little easier to hide away in his now much more comfortable bed. <T> "Thanks for being here for me, Ara." he finally said in return before he closed his eyes and got comfortable for a night of sleep.
That was, at least, until what sounded like a chainsaw went off inside his room. His eyes widened quickly and turned to the snoring Zabrak who had somehow managed to fall asleep before him. Kyell watched her in the dark for a brief moment and chuckled softly before he too closed his eyes and did his best to fall asleep.
They were both safe, and he looked forward to getting closer to her. That was definitely one reason not to risk his life the way he did on Empress Teta again.

Luckily, the snoring faded as her head rolled forward and normal breathing managed to ensue. While the chair wasn't the most comfortable, she was used to far worse sleeping conditions, and the presence of Kyell did wonders to calm her down. At least until the dreams started.

Dreams she was far too familiar with. Haunting scenes from her past... but also new ones to accompany the others in tormenting her while she slept.

Barely an hour or two later, Ara jerked away with a muffled gasp. Her cheeks were damp and her breathing sporadic. But one look at Kyell reassured her that she was safe. She wasn't alone. With a sigh she got up and quietly exited his room to wash her face off and adjust her robes. "You're fine, Ara. You're fine." Words her mother told her whenever it happened at home. She was on Hefi now, but those words did wonders for her. "Haters gonna hate." She muttered as she left the refresher for her own quarters. Kyell needed sleep, as much uninterrupted sleep as he could get.

By the time the ship reached the temple, Ara made sure to tend to Kyell's wounds every day with a combination of bacta and force healing. The latter failed miserably. Despite being much better, however, Ara insisted on helping him to his quarters. "As soon as we get you there, we'll get you out of these crappy scrubs and into some proper clothing. You look ridiculous in these." She quipped, a smirk forming along her lips as she glanced at him from the corner of her eye.

After a good night of sleep and proper medical treatment aboard the medical frigate, Kyell was already feeling a lot better, but Ara still very much insisted to help with a combination of bacta, Force Healing, and just accompanying him wherever he went. And Kyell, of course, knew better than to argue with it — she wasn't going to take any crap from him now.
But there was something else he wanted to bring.
<T> "Hey Ara? I wanted to show you this," he said while she was still with him and joking about the whole clothing situation. But in the palm of his hand was the Golden Starbird, an award for heroic service in battle. He hadn't dared bring it up from his hospital bed, or she might have actually broken his nose for showing it off after getting badly injured. <T> "The only reason I'm holding this now is because of you," he said with a smile.
It was a bit cheesy maybe, but he really meant it. Thinking about her during the fight and after he was defeated had helped him push through injuries that could have killed him otherwise.
<T> "Now let's get out of this weird gown," he grinned at her and entered his room to get changed back into his usual clothing.

Ara halted when she heard his voice in her head. It was still a weird thing to experience, even after all the talking they were doing. But it did have a certain appeal to it. Her gaze lowered to his hand as he held out an odd medal of some sort. It took her a few moments to realize what it was, but she still didn't move for a few seconds.

On one hand, it was awesome to see him with something like that. A medal for bravery... but on the other hand it was a reminder of the stunt he pulled. The danger he placed himself in. Not to mention the fact of a Jedi earning a military medal... the mixed feelings faded as he spoke up again. A soft smile formed as she closed up his hand and looked at him. "Keep talkin' sappy like that and I'll make you sleep on your own couch tonight." She joked, though a more serious tone came through as she continued.

"The next time you try a stunt like that, I'm coming with you. I ain't gonna let you get all the medals." She hoped the joke would cover up what she was really feeling. The worry of him ending up in another situation like that. She didn't want to lose him as well...

Giving him a gentle nudge, she walked with him into his room and gave a look around before opening his drawers to fish out an outfit for him. Something easy to get into for now. "Alright, dress up." She tossed the shirt at his face with a laugh as she made her way to the exit. "I'm gonna make us something to eat, I'll be back in a bit." She gave him one final smile before she closed the door and walked to the kitchen.

While she worked on some simple sandwiches, Ara mulled over her thoughts about the whole situation. They cared a lot for each other, she couldn't deny that. But their duties as Jedi were also important. She didn't want to hold him back with wherever they were going between them. She wished her master was still around. Talking to master Valery was probably an option, she seemed like the type who could easily answer this for her. She was married too, another bonus for this situation... but master Valery was also not a slum rat with the mouth of a freighter pilot.

"Karkin' hell, is my only option the broad with a picket fence?!" She spoke up as she swung the knife, sending sauce all along a nearby wall. "Oh come off it. Can't be that hard. You're a Jedi, Ara, can't run to a master every time something weird happens. Seriously. You're both Jedi, you're both adults... just play it cool."

Taking the two plates, she made her way back to his room with a smile growing. "Hot damn these look good... she muttered to herself.

"Keep talkin' sappy like that and I'll make you sleep on your own couch tonight."
Yeah, that was the reaction he expected from her, and as always, it could only make him smile. But when she continued to speak, he noticed that she was getting a bit more serious — a part of her was maybe proud or just happy that he was still in one piece. But she was worried as well, even though he had given his word not to do something like this again. With both of them being Jedi and getting more experience, it was going to be impossible to dodge danger completely, so he did understand where it was coming from.
<T> "Next time, we'll fight together," he said with a nod and a slightly more serious tone as well, hoping it would help ease her mind a little bit.
The two then made it into his room, and while he was very capable at getting his own clothing, he decided it was best not to tell her to step aside. He just watched her with a smirk while she went through his drawers, and after a few seconds, a shirt was tossed against his face. He pulled it away and gave her a 'Really?' type of look, before he began to smirk again. <T> "Alright, I'll see you in a bit," he flashed a smile and after watching her leave, he began to maneuver his way out of the hospital clothes.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen...
"You know I can hear you, right?" Valery asked, as she stepped around the corner, looked at the sauce-covered wall, and raised an eyebrow at the other Jedi. She had been preparing a meal for herself before going back to training, but Ara could be fairly loud, and the comment about a broad with a picket fence face made it too easy to tell what it was all about.
"I'll uh, get that wall cleaned up, but you should talk to him about how you feel, and what's on your mind. If you bury it away, it's only going to get more difficult," she said with a warm smile as Ara finished up her sandwiches. But before she could leave, Valery looked over and spoke up again.
"Oh and Ara? There's some sauce on your horn," Valery tapped her own forehead and smirked, "Just be cool, Ara and enjoy yourself~" she continued with a sing-song voice to tease the Padawan a little before she left with her own food again.
Back in Kyell's room...
<T> "Oh wow, those look amazing," Kyell said when Ara returned with the sandwiches. He was looking at them as if he hadn't eaten in weeks, and practically drooled when a plate was offered. "I really need to get better at preparing my own meals..." he muttered telepathically, as he thought about his simplistic lunch boxes again.
The fruit was nice, at least.
<T> "So uh, what do you think is next? I'm not ready to go back to the front, but are you going?" he asked, and a careful eye could tell that he was a little nervous about it, despite the fact that he had just gone off to the battlefields alone himself.

Ara froze in place as her eyes went wide, her face turning bright red as she looked at master Valery. Her heart sank as she stared at the Jedi master for a moment before finally scraping her thoughts back together. "Oh, um... M-master Noble, I uh..." She didn't even get to finish her half-baked excuse as she looked away with embarrassment.

Her gaze hesitantly returned to the woman as she spoke up and gave her a little bit of advice. With sandwiches in hand, she merely contemplated what the woman said before the mention if sauce got some movement back into her. "What? Oh kriff..." She felt the horns on her forehead until she found the saucy spot and quickly wiped it off.

"Just be cool, Ara and enjoy yourself~"

A faint smile formed as she watched the woman leave. "Cool... yeah, I can do cool..." She muttered to herself with a nod.

Returning to Kyell's room, Ara brightened up as he practically swooned over the sandwiches she prepared for them. "Heh, stick with me and I'll make a chef outta you. Workin' in a diner has its perks." She quipped as she handed him his plate and took a seat in a nearby chair. After a few satisfying bites she glanced up at him as he asked about what the plan was. "Nah, you ain't shipping out already. You got Jedi and guitar lessons to figure out." She joked, setting her plate aside.

"In all seriousness? I don't know. Since Master Sol'yan is d-" Her emotions caught up with her terrible choice of words as she cut herself off. "Since he's not here anymore, I... I need to figure out what to do. You should also get yourself a master, Kyell. We're Jedi. We should be ready to fight for others. I heard talks of the Alliance planning something big, but I dunno what it is. But if we're needed there, we need to be ready. No matter what." She got up and sat down right next to him, staring off into a corner.

"But at the end of it all, we need to look out for each other. We won't always have the luxury of doing stuff together. I... I know I'm a pain in the ass, Kyell. I'm a hardass and I throw my weight around even when I don't mean it... but I care about you. If either of us have to go off and fight or something, we let each other know." A sad smile formed as she gave him a nudge. "I'll do you one better. If I gotta go somewhere, I'll leave you my swoop jacket so I can come get it back." She tried to lift the mood.

When he sat down with his plate, his usual proper eating habits seemed to have faded a little. He was so hungry that it was difficult to keep himself from eating like a pig, and devouring the sandwiches, but he still made an effort for her... even though she wasn't exactly the best example either, <T> "Means you'll have to stick around too," he smiled but also knew it was not really possible. They both had to get back to Jedi business soon, whether they liked it or not.

<T> "I know, I'm sure I'll be able to find a Master. I actually had someone interested but, you know, this situation made it hard to meet up," he flashed a sheepish smile and took a final bite of the sandwich to finish up his plate. <T> "Got a long way to go, but I'll be ready next time." his hand shifted to her shoulder as she sat down beside him, squeezing it lightly while she talked about looking out for each other.

He was never going to make the mistake of leaving her in the dark again, <T> "I'll let you know, I promise," he nodded and smiled at the nudge to his side. <T> "I'd offer you my flute in return, but I'm pretty sure you'd break it," he said in response with a far more smug look than he had shown her before.

<T> "In all seriousness, it's likely that the next big campaign will be one without me, but not without you. So be safe out there, okay? You're the toughest Padawan I know, but just... be careful."

Ara laughed at the tease about his flute, shooting him a daring grin. "Uh huh? And what are the odds you won't be sportin' my jacket while I'm gone?" She quipped right back. The jokes helped to keep the dark thoughts away. She looked at him when he asked her to be careful, and a firm nod was given in response. "I will. Don't worry." Her grin returned as she looked at his instruments. "Like you said, I gotta stick around if I wanna learn. So I'm gonna be comin' back for that jacket." She teased.

Master Valery's thoughts turned in her head, over and over. She was right. Ara knew the dangers of keeping things bubbled up, it was still something she struggled with. Being open wasn't her strong suit, especially with things like this.

But if not now, would she get another chance? All she needed was twenty seconds.

"Hey, Kyell? I, uh... I know we've been hanging out a ton... we're close right?" She started as her cheeks reddened. She kept her gaze low for a moment as she tried to get her wording right. "I'm... you know I don't do sappy stuff... but, uh..." A shaky breath escaped as she looked into his eyes. "Do you, uh..." With another sigh she pushed off the bed and paced around for a good few moments.

"Karkin' hell it can't be that hard, come on." She grumbled to herself before taking a deep breath. "I'm askin' if you'd kriffing like to go out with me!" She finally managed to announce properly, albeit with a less emotional tone. What didn't help was the nervousness building up in her. She thought it would get easier when she said it, but the complete opposite was happening. "I've been wanting to ask it for a while and I kinda legit really like you, so you wanna go out or something?!" She continued, finally managing to voice her jumbled thoughts.

Kyell was grinning from ear to ear when his teasing about the flute provoked some joking in return, <T> "I don't think I fit the jacket," he commented, daring to make a joke about the decent height difference between them. A few months ago, he would have never even thought about such a thing, but he felt a lot more confident around her now. She truly had become his first-ever friend, and deep inside, he felt that it was maybe growing into more?

It was hard to tell, he had never even gotten to this point before.

"Hey, Kyell? I, uh... I know we've been hanging out a ton... we're close right?"

Hearing that, Kyell blinked and turned to look at her with a slightly more serious expression. For a reason his inexperienced mind couldn't understand, he felt his heart beating faster, and his palms were suddenly getting all sweaty. Her getting up and pacing around a bit only added to it, causing him to lean forward while he listened carefully.

Then she asked her question and for a couple of seconds, he just sat there and stared at her, which likely only made her feel nervous too. With a shake of his head, he snapped out of it and reached out to her mind, <T> "Like... a date? Or just a-" he stopped and blinked as he tried to compose himself.

<T> "Yeah, I'd like that, Ara," he said with a smile, but she'd likely be able to tell how nervous he was about it. It wasn't going to stop him from trying though.

The tension was thick and Ara's breath was stuck in her throat as she waited for some kind of response. Any kind of response. Even a 'no' would be good enough for her. But nothing happened. She stood with arms draped by her sides and wide eyes glued to Kyell's gaze as she waited for him to make some kind of move.

She was a few seconds away from writing off her attempt and storming off when he finally shook his head and gathered his thoughts to give some kind of response. Every bit of her was expecting him to say 'no' and bring her glass castle down. To destroy her expectations and leave her lost in what to do next. But the answer she got left her speechless for a few long moments.

She didn't know what to say. With mouth agape and eyes unmoving she stood in front of him with no idea on how to process his reaction. "Wait... you wanna?" She muttered. Her lips slowly curled into a smile as a sharp breath exhaled from her. "That's... wait..." A hand brushed through her hair as she turned towards the door and back towards him again, lost on how to respond.

She finally closed the distance and wrapped her arms around him, a kiss finding it's way to his lips before she pulled back with a giant smile. "Great!" She cheered as she paced around the room. After her giggle fit died down and she managed to calm herself, she sat down and wrapped her arms around him again. "Now you get a swoop jacket pass." She joked, hoping to salvage her own bad reaction.
