  Brun never knew his parents. From his earliest memory, he was alone, wandering the streets of Pelek Baw as a nidôsh—an orphan. His parents had disappeared without a trace, likely casualties of the endless conflict between the Korunnai and Balawai, but no one could tell him for certain. With no family or answers, he was left to the streets and the jungle beyond, forced to fend for himself in a city that teetered on the edge of constant violence.
  
  Pelek Baw, despite being under Korunnai control in recent eras, was no safe haven for a child. The city was a battleground, a place where power shifted with the seasons. The summertime wars—the brutal cycles of conflict that erupted when the oppressive heat set in—were a way of life for both Korunnai and Balawai. For as long as Brun could remember, the Korunnai had been in a constant struggle to maintain control over the city and its resources. Though the Korunnai were native to the land and wielded the Force-born knowledge of ancestors long gone, the Balawai were wealthy, ruthless, and well-armed and used their resources to challenge Korunnai rule year after year.
  
  As a child, Brun learned to survive in the narrow alleys and rooftops of Pelek Baw, scavenging what he could, stealing when necessary, and defending himself against both Balawai thugs and rival Korunnai gangs. He developed a sharp instinct for danger and an innate understanding of the jungle that encircled the city. The dense wilderness became his second home, where he learned to move silently through the trees, track animals, and evade both natural predators and enemy patrols.
  
  Brun grew up with an inherent distrust of the Balawai, whose wealth and privilege stood in stark contrast to the harsh lives of the Korunnai. Every summertime war brought new waves of violence as the Balawai sought to destabilize Korunnai rule. Their mercenaries, smugglers, and offworld allies would descend on Pelek Baw in droves, attempting to undermine the Korunnai's fragile grasp on the city. Brun saw firsthand how the Balawai's greed turned his people into permanent warriors, forcing even children like himself to fight in a conflict they hadn't started but could never escape.
  
  Without a family or ghosh to protect him, Brun became part of an underground network of nidôsh—Korunnai orphans who banded together to survive. They operated in the shadows of the city, launching sabotage missions against the Balawai, raiding supply lines, and fighting to preserve their way of life. As he grew older, Brun's leadership skills began to shine. He was clever, strategic, and brutally effective at organizing raids and ambushes. He led his fellow nidôsh in jungle strikes, using their knowledge of the land to outwit and outmaneuver the technologically superior Balawai forces.
  
  Brun's hatred for the summertime war only deepened with age. He despised how the Balawai consistently returned to fight for control, unwilling to accept Korunnai rule, perpetuating a cycle of death and destruction. His early years as a guerrilla fighter shaped him into a hardened warrior, someone who knew both the streets and the jungle as intimately as his own breath. His successes in these early skirmishes drew the attention of Ghosh Rotsu, who, though weakened by years of infighting and losses in the summertime wars, saw in him a rising leader.
  
  When Brun discovered and returned to his ancestral ghosh, he brought with him the strength and determination of a battle-tested fighter. He quickly rose through the ranks of Ghosh Rotsu, using his experience as a street-smart survivor to reorganize the tribe's forces. His vision extended beyond the immediate conflict; he believed that the Korunnai could break the cycle of war by uniting the tribes under a common banner and decisively ending the Balawai threat. Under Brun's leadership, Ghosh Rotsu rose to prominence, becoming one of the most feared and respected Korunnai factions in Pelek Baw. He led daring strikes against Balawai mercenaries, disrupting their control over key resources in the city and jungle. His mastery of the Korunnai's unique jungle warfare, combined with his intimate knowledge of the city's underworld, allowed him to strike where the Balawai were weakest. These tactical victories earned him the loyalty of not only his ghosh but also many other Korunnai who had grown tired of the endless warfare.
  
  Brun's rise to power was not merely military. As Ghosh Rotsu solidified its dominance, Brun realized that lasting victory required more than just brute force—it demanded political maneuvering. Despite his rough, warrior-like appearance, Brun discovered a surprising talent for politics. He began negotiating with rival Korunnai tribes, convincing them to unite under a single cause, while simultaneously making fragile alliances with Balawai factions willing to accept Korunnai rule in exchange for protection or trade agreements.
