THE UNDEFEATED
Bryn'adûl | M'gaelak Siege Tower
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The Siege tower units were put into commission as part of a massive push for a more viable war effort to combat larger forces owned by Empires.
The M'gaelak were discovered in Wild Space, these strange and massive creatures were quickly moved from their native environments into controlled Bryn'adûl environments.
Following years of study, they were essentially cannibalised; mutated and made into semi-sentient bio-machines with a majority of their internals replaced so that Bryn'adûl Artificers could control them with ease like a simple machine. Upgraded and made stronger, the M'gaelak Siege Towers have now grown in number and use across the battlefields of the Bryn'adûl's genocidal march on the Galaxy.
- Unit Name: M'gaelak Siege Tower
- Affiliation: The Bryn'adûl
- Classification: Siege Tower
- Description: The M'gaelak Siege Tower is a massive, lumbering five hundred metre tall creature with grey-pearlescent carapace. The M'gaelak shudder the ground as they walk, the creature is by majority hollow save for its brain and vital organs. The interior of the M'gaelaks have been mutated and made stronger, part machine controlled by Draelvasier Technology as to work in symbiosis with the constructs of the Bryn'adûl. Making their massive carapaced crown a sort of hidden Siege Fortress that houses various Bryn'adûl military instruments.
- Unit Size: Small
- Unit Availability: Rare
- Unit Experience: Veteran
- Equipment: Draelvasier Technology, Verikast constructed interior command centre and deployment areas.
- Gunboat Deployment Bays: The Siege Tower houses two adjacent deployment bays that each house one squadron of Brute Gunboats.
- Defence Placements: The Siege Tower houses a total of two-hundred Ballistas and four hundred Spiker Turrets firing 457.2mm.
- Command Centre: The Command Centre is within the centre of the Siege Tower, housing communication systems and deployment stratagems and live-feeds of on going battles.
- Infantry Compartments: Can house up to two-thousand infantry within alongside a security compliment of fifty six Brutes and one-hundred and fifty Drones alongside the Artificers piloting it.
- Battle Horns: The mouths of the M'gaelak have been retrofitted as massive musical battle horns instruments that play during battle. The horns are so loud and so powerful they can kick up dirt and sand and can be heard for several kilometres.
- Combat Function: The combat function of the Siege Tower is to act as a defensive and offensive Siege machine that can be used to attack fortified areas and acts as a mobile command centre. Its tendrils act as catapults at range whilst its ballista's and turrets act as defences. It also delivers troops to the battlefield via Gunboats and can deploy its infantry forces from its long horns by lowering them to the ground or via many exit points across the beast that allow for many options of travel.
- Morale: Using their Battle Horns, the M'gaelak are a powerful force of morale for ground troops.
- Root and Stem: While slow and typically harmless, a M'gaelak when feeling threatened or ordered to do so will rip anything between trees and small buildings out of the ground and hurdle them at anything they perceive as a threat. However, this requires considerable wind-up.
- Zoidberg Effect: These creatures have an incredibly tough hide, making anything bar a literally bombardment of high-explosive weaponry a waste of everyone's time involved.
- Protected: The M'gaelaks Siege Tower is well defended by a small force of Brutes and Drones but also temporarily carries two-thousand infantry for deployment alongside those awaiting deployment via Gunboats.
- Cocoon: The M'gaelak is capable of orbital deployment, using its massive crowns horns to envelop its body, the M'gaelak can drop from orbit and land safely.
- Access Points: This is both a strength and a weakness, the Siege Tower has hundreds of secret and not-so secret entrances and exits of carapace-doors that allow for vertical travel or deployment of troops into cities, but also allows insurgents many ways to try and infiltrate the Siege Tower.
- Slow: These creatures are carrying several hundred megatons worth of flesh, muscle and shell on their bodies. These creatures are incredibly slow, able to be out-ran by even the smallest of land-vehicles.
- Thunder-thighs: You can hear them coming for miles, their every step shakes the ground for a miles. There's no sneaking with these things.
- Massive Target: You'd have to be a half-dead blind Stormtrooper with no fingers to miss this thing.
- Senses: The M'gaelak only sees with its tentacle-like mandibles, the hollowed black shapes on the front of its crown are an evolutionary trick. It's senses are solely smell and audio.
- Under the Crown: All of its defences are under the massive crown, leaving its crown vulnerable to attack.
- Legs: Take out a few legs and the M'gaelak will become slower, and eventually fall.
