- From the Depths of Hell in Silence: As it's special designation and nickname denote, the Stealth-Y is outfitted with specialized equipment designed to make it extremely stealthy in the face of enemy sensors, including a sensor-dampening treatment, WhisperThrust engines, a masking system, and a sensor scrambler. This allows the Stealth-Y to slip through enemy fighter screens and sensor fields with near impunity, allowing them to strike their enemy undetected, unexpected.
- Cast their Spells, Explosive Violence: Though the internal weapons bay limits the amount of large or very large munitions the Stealth-Y can carry, even when it's carrying its standard 8-count loadout of Proton Bombs, it carries more than enough firepower to wrack ruin on any enemy which draws its rage, even an entire city.
- Unbroken: The Stealth-Y is outfitted with an absolutely stellar deflector shield and extremely durable Matrix Armor, which allow it to absorb absolutely brutal amounts of punishment after striking a target or if its stealth systems were to fail.
- Moves like a Hutt: Just like it's regular-forces cousins, the Stealth-Y is rather deficient in the maneuverability and speed fields. While it's not near as bad as the K-wing in maneuverability or the H-wing in speed, nearly any well-built interceptor or superiority fighter that detects it is going to have a rather easy time keeping up.
- Vulnerable Backseater: Unlike many other designs that Ari has worked on, due to space restraints the Stealth-Y doesn't have an armored cover for its Astromech - leaving their dome vulnerable to enemy fighter - this can prove a rather difficult situation to the pilot and gunner as the astromech serves an important role supplementing the limited navicomputer and providing battlefield repairs and calibrations
- Stealth or Shields: While the Whisperthrust engines and the stealth treatment can act passively, the strongest part of the stealth package - the Vanish-2 sensor-masking system, requires a large power-draw from the reactor, and so the heavily upgraded shields of the Stealth-Y must be disabled while it's active.
The BTL-SB Stealth-Y is a peculiar little ship which was designed by Colonel Ari Naldax only to be pulled out for a very specific mission profile - one in which heavily defended enemy positions simply had to be destroyed, without cover from other fighters. For that she looked at the venerable design which had served republics and rebels and alliances for nearly 900 years - the Y-wing. Choosing to incorporate many of the lessons she had learned from the design of her own personal stealth fighter, the Blackwolf, she created what is perhaps the most glorious monstrosity to grace modern battlefields - the Stealth-Y
Using an internal weapons bay, rather than tubed ordnance launchers or external hardpoints, Ari ensured that the Stealth-Y was flexible enough to be outfitted with nearly any loadout its mission required while maintaining stealth. Speaking of stealth, while it's outfitted with the same antisensor treatment and stealth engines as the Blackwolf, Ari knew that neither could defeat visual-range engagements. Added to the stealth package, to allow it even to make itself appear invisible to enemy fighters and defenses was the Vanish-2 Military Sensor Masking System. In case this system failed, however, she also made sure that the armor and deflector shields were improved to a high level, giving even a keen enemy a very hard case to crack.
Cracking a joke that someone had finally created the Y-wing version of the StealthX, the engineers at Income-FreiTek-Koensayr gave this new fighter the affection nickname the Stealth-Y.
