Buddy Cop

Most people like to ignore the paperwork involved in being a cop. Of course, it only escalates as you rank up, which was one of the reasons Malin was not too interested in advancing her career at lightning speed. Things were going fine for her. She was living.

Sipping her usual cup of caf, Lieutenant Malin Spritejägare skimmed over the reports of consistent suspicious activity occurring at the southwest district of Coronet City Spaceport. She got these reports all the time. In fact, she had memorized the page number in which they always detailed the Rodian wino who just never could take a hint. With a flick of her finger against the datapad screen, the blond CorSec agent checked off each page and discarded them from her unread list. What a drag.

Something could happen today. Might as well ditch the office. Patrolling the streets was always more fun than this desk work.

Yox suppressed an ecstatic grin. This was her first solo operation. Granted, it was basic. Just hand the extradition docs to an officer of sufficient rank, collect her, and then return to the ship, where they would then return to Republic space for the trial. She straightened her uniform, and headed out of the space port. First goal: find the police station. She set off, hailing a speeder that slowed to a halt beside her, and she slipped in, leaning back against the seat. "Central Police station, please."

The driver nodded and guided the speeder into traffic and began weaving its way towards the police station. Yox leaned back, relaxing for now. This was the easy part. It would be tenser later one.

It really was a nice day outside. That typical brisk sea breeze warmed by a watery sunlight penetrating the slightly overcast skies was what made Corellia's proud city more than just a simple scoundrel's paradise. It was almost a direct contrast to the defaced worlds of Nar Shaddaa and Coruscant, even if Coronet City did not have a five-star reputation. The truth is, it was a lot cleaner and safer of a place thanks to men and women like Spritejägare--though it could be argued that the beauty and security came with a few setbacks in privacy.

But Malin was not one to think too deeply about such things. She was here, she was enjoying her job for the most part, and she was serving to preserve that Corellian spirit. And so she delayed a bit and leaned her tall frame against her speeder parked outside the central offices of CorSec, biding her time for as long as she could reasonably get away with.
