Building a Future

She stood in the council chamber looking through the glass windows into the darkness; she was in deep thought, though she appeared to be in a daze. It had been a while since The Order moved to Telos and they were still adjusting. All that remained was her, but there was far too much to do and not enough time to do everything.

Majority of the Masters left, or have gone inactive she was the last council member to remain. They needed leadership and administration but she wasn't capable of doing everything herself, it wouldn't be possible and she wouldn't be in a position to properly lead if she were stretched to thin. So the first thing she decided to do was re-establish the council, although differently this time around.

She'd contacted [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] hoping he would answer her call and come to Telos to meet with her. He was a former Grandmaster and one she'd only known through word of mouth but she knew he remained in contact.

The last few days had been a dizzying sort, and those he had never thought he would see. Ryan Korr had become the Grandmaster, and the Jedi Master, by all means, was ready to leave. He could admit that, and he would tell it to Shmi's face if asked. He had come back because Corvus had assured and promised him that things were returning to normal. That had changed the moment that Corvus had disappeared. With Korr, a more militiant Jedi, who made rash decisions and attempted to heavily punish even those not under his banner based on small assumptions and not even speaking to the target, set to become Grandmaster, that promise had been broken, and Josh had seen the writing on the wall rather quickly. He had been on the planet that the fated encounter that came to do one thing - and that was to resign. But a stop to the office of the only remaining counsellor left to resign had gone differently then planned when he saw a crowd of Jedi gather. Jedi who still believed in that vision he yearned for. It was there that he had learned of Korr's actions upon becoming Grandmaster, and it was there that he had decided that he would find a way to finally make things right for the Jedi again.

And in doing so, endorsed for Shmi to become Grandmaster and lead this new Jedi Order into the future.

He didn't know how he had gone from planning to resign to being invited to Telos for business, but here he was. The former Grandmaster had been asked to meet with the new Grandmaster herself, [member="Shmi Labooda"] for some sort of important business concerning the Order and his future. It wasn't long before the Jedi Master arrived wherever she wished for them to meet. As he entered, he gave her a polite bow.

"Grandmaster."

When she heard the door open she turned her head to look. She took a few steps towards the center of the room and waited for what she hoped was Joshua to come. Standing there with her arms folded, she noticed his built figure enter the room. Her eyes grew bigger, and energy filled her face.

"I'm happy you could come, for a second I was worried you wouldn't" she said smirking, she took a step forward to meet him. "Please, call me Shmi" she motioned for him to take a seat next to her as she sat down as well.

"I realized this is probably one of the places you weren't expecting to be, but..." she looked at him, and the expression on her face showed that she was worried. "I could use your help, I want your help...recent events have sprouted from nowhere and have hit The Order hard...those few who wish for this to remain need guidance and you know what its like Joshua..."

He was curious of her intentions, and noted the energy coming to her face as he entered. Apparently, he noted by her expression, she was looking forward to seeing him. Why? He wasn't all that sure. He couldn't recall the last time a Grandmaster had been happy to see him since the days of [member="Ben Watts"] when he had been but a young Jedi Knight, taking his first steps into the world of the Jedi Council that would soon enough become his life.

"Now, if I was to no-show for a beautiful woman, Grandmaster or not, what kind of gentleman would that make me?" The Jedi Master would tease with a light smile as he stepped forward, admiring the view of the room overlooking the beautiful planet of Telos as he did. Well, if he wanted him to be in-formal enough to only use her first name instead of formalities, he supposed he could sneak in a tongue-in-cheek joke, right? He was a laid-back sort of Jedi, and people knew that. Or, at least the ones who really knew him did. He was a guy who knew the importance of morale, at all times... He had seen and fought in so many battles that he knew just what it could do and what kind of difference it could make, on and off the battlefield.

He would listen, tilting his head as he noted the worried expression on her face. But her response, quite frankly, for a moment stunned him. It hadn't been what he had expected at all. His expression showed that, but for a moment she might have even seen a bit of life come to his face between the shock.

"Are you... Offering me a spot on the council, Grandmaster?" He inquired, clearly surprised, but the light that came in his eyes indicated just what this meant to him. Far more then she could ever imagine... To the point where he'd forgotten his promise earlier to just call her Shmi.

Her eyes grew wide from his words, she thought to herself "beautiful?" she was surprised. However, that quickly faded and she glanced to the side as a slight blush appeared; she was flattered from such words. Her career as a Jedi made her such a novice at such things...but that was neither here nor there, at least she thought.

She in turn asked him to sit, and she watched his face change as she spoke. "Yes, I would love for someone of your reputation to sit on the council. At a time such as this...wisdom is needed from those with the experience to give it." she said before she sat back in her sit. She glanced over to him..."And please, just Shmi ahaha." she said smirking and then looking down.

From his expression, she got the fact this this meant something...whether it made him feel uneasy or if it were a feeling of excitement either way she knew she would be given a straight answer at least. Most of those she spoke with shyed away from the conversation as if they were afraid to take up the role...and she didn't blame them one bit.

"Please...Help us bring this Order back."

His expression didn't change beyond the tint of amusement in his eyes. He had always been a joking, teasing, playful flirt, and most Jedi he knew were aware of that. Of course, with him being gone for so long, he still found himself taking people by surprise from time to time, and the blush on the Grandmaster's face said that. It was his way of joking around, of course, but it did tend to bring a smile to people's faces most of the time. If it didn't, he didn't do it. Simple as that. It was funny, really, that beyond that flirty visage was a man who could be fully committed if he found the right person... But that was a story for another day.

He would take a seat when instructed, and listen to what the Grandmaster had to say. He didn't know how to respond at first. To be truthful, it still felt like this was a dream... Sure, the Order had been left in tatters, but what was left was Jedi with the right vision, the original vision... The one that had made this Order so successful before the militiant sorts had come around. It was time for change... And even if they had to start from scratch, they could actually DO something! And for him to have his old job back, the job that he had been so happy to be a part of for so long... That meant the world to him. He could admit it, it was something he'd yearned for, for a long time. The power meant nothing to him, the ability to change things for the better, to make things better for the Jedi and for the galaxy, to help an Order he had been loyal to since he was a child succeed? It had brought him happiness for the longest time, while he had been one of the longest tenured council members in recent memory. And losing that, even if voluntarily, shattered him. Now, it was like the pieces of his life were finally starting to come back together, after all this time spent alone, without a purpose. In the end... He supposed maybe he was always destined to come back...

Because deep down, he knew this was where he belonged. And if it hadn't been for the corruption in the Jedi... He would have never left.

Finally, he would nod once she finished, a smile across his lips, a new life in his eyes. This was something he had always wanted but never thought he would realize ever again. He had always thought that door was closed forever...

"I accept, Grandmaster-... Shmi" He would speak quietly, quickly correcting himself before he used formal terms again. "And... Thank you. Thank you for letting me help bring this Order back."
