Tatooine was a cesspool of a planet, Thema knew. If it were up to her, she'd never come back to this desert planet- Last time she was here, she'd gotten into a fight with a deadly pirate, nearly getting herself killed in the process.
But here she was, there to fight another day on the brown and yellow hell that had almost been her tomb. But despite her history with the planet, she knew things could be worse. Tatooine itself wasn't lethal- Not unless you were smart, anyways. You could easily die of dehydration or exposure, but that was just about it. Tatooine was mostly known for being boring. The only thing even slightly interesting about the planet was it's criminal activity, and she was here to eliminate a part of that. She'd probably live to see another day, unless these pirates also had a Force-Infused death weapon.
'Then again... Things could be a lot better.' The juvenile thought to herself, eyes tracing the edge of the rickety Starhopper. The one-man trashcan posing as a spacecraft wasn't hers, originally. She'd borrowed it from a nearby spaceport, after she determined there were no pilots with the guts to fly her down to Tatooine. 'Not worth the trip', they'd claim. After hours pleading for a trip, she was given the option of renting a starhopper- Supposedly a state-of-the-art one-man carrier, designed for these sort of missions. Affordable, and reliable, or so she was told.
Affordable seemed to do it justice. The craft was barely spaceworthy, and even that was up to debate. No weapons, barely any thrusters, and a hyperdrive that seemed almost like a practical joke. But beggars couldn't be choosers. Cursing and groaning all the way, she'd begun her jump to hyperspace more than five hours ago. Only now was she beginning to descend upon the planet, computer vaguely targeting her designated landing site.
Finally, she'd landed, with a thump that made it almost certain she wouldn't risk another trip on that thing. Exiting the spacecraft before it threatened to cave in on the Chiss, Thema squinted hard, eyes adjusting from the barely illuminated cockpit of the Starhopper to broad daylight. It took her a few moments to recover from her temporary blindness. The first thing that came into focus, of course, was another ship. Considerably larger and better than her own, or any other she'd expected to see on Tatooine. Clearly, it was a foreigner's ship.
Then, realization hit her like a blaster bolt. Inside that ship was her new master. Not Master Dune, or Master Kress. Inside the ship was someone new.
The mere thought was enough to make her stomach turn. It hadn't been a week since Master Dune had abandoned her- And she couldn't help but feel guilty. Her last moment with him had been back on Deneba, back when she'd faced the Sith apprentice. The battle had marked her, that much she knew. There was something that awoke in her that day- Something she both feared, and lusted over. Something that had, no doubt, scared her Bith friend away.
Blinking a few times, she drew a shaky breath, and started advancing towards the craft with heavy footsteps. Multiple emotions stirred in her with each metre she closed. For a second, she turned her head, eyes meeting the starhopper-
Then back at the craft. She couldn't turn back now. Slowly, she closed the final distance to the ship, and looked at the entrance. It was shut, with no obvious doorbells. She could only pray there was someone inside. "Hello?" She called, expectantly.
