Private Burrying the Hatchet

Eriadu - 902 ABY

Despite what had happened under the control of its former viceroys when it was still part of the C.I.S. and all its later issues, turbulences and tribulations, Eriadu seemed to be this one constant in the galaxy where in the end, not much changed. After several decades, it almost looked like one of its most powerful families had also managed to mend itself and straightened up its act. It had been decades, almost half a century since the enygmatic, but ruthless Credius Nargath had been in control and finally, after all this time some of the edicts that had been implemented by the man had either been improved upon or kept in place as is, showing that despite all his flaws and his strange behavior, it was hard to snuff out the influence he had, not that people hadn't tried...one of them in particular had seemed to be hellbent on trying to erase the very legacy of the man himself: Marlon Sularen.

It was because of the understanding the current head of the Nargath Household held towards the thoughts that had plagued the mighty Admiral's mind, that Tertius was openly seeking to resolve the issues that his great uncle had caused between the Sularen Dynasty and his own House Nargath. After all, as a pragmatic man, a man of business and research rather than mysticism and military ideologies, Tertius saw more potential in burying the hatchet between not just the two man that stood at the root of this conflict, but their entire houses, their dynasties, all for the sake of coming to a compromise, perhaps an understanding that could lead to mutual benefit between the two parties.

After all, The Sularen House had risen to the very top within the galaxy's affairs, while the Nargaths had floundered when their Former Marquis Credius Nargath had vanished after the collapse of the Zweihander Union. To avoid any further animosity, Tertius knew he had to at the very least convince Marlon Sularen of his genuine intentions and as such, the current head of House Nargath had decided to choose a rather open and neutral location for a possible talk to be had; The Meloran Restaurant, one of the few establishments on Eriadu that didn't feel like a concrete box stuffed with military personel and in stead was run by a family of immigrants from Erinar, who used the period in which Credius Nargath was the Viceroy of the Eriadu sector to their advantage in order to build a flourishing business.

Looking around, Tertius noticed how the large building's interior was a patchwork of fine textiles, decorated walls with goldleaf arches and marble pillars, a show of refinement and style that you couldn't find anywhere else in Eriadu, certainly not outside of the capital where getting scrubbers to clean the air was nearly impossible. Taking in a deep breath, the current Head of the House Nargath calmed himself, holding his left hand in front of his eyes to allow them to rest a bit, fidgeting with his glasses before straightening his crevatte and raising his hand to make an order, since he really did have need for some good old Corellian coffee.

Letting out the air that had been filling his lungs, the younger man hoped that his missive would find Marlon Sularen interested in this meeting...so all he could do was wait and hope for the man to either send someone to kill him and be done with it, send a messenger for terms or come by in person...he did prefer the latter.

DARK EMPIRE
ERIADU, OUTER RIM TERRITORIES

A pair of SpecNav Commandos entered the restaurant followed by an individual wearing a white Imperial uniform. The individual took a short glance around before eventually walking towards the patriarch of House Nargath, flanked by the two Commandos. Upon arriving at the table, the Imperial presented himself to the Eriaduan Noble. "I am Colonel Rackham of the ISB, personal aide to Grand Admiral Marlon Sularen." the Imperial said introducing himself as a took a seat. "The Grand Admiral was unable to reach you so i have come in his stead, i hope that will not be a problem for you." Rackham added. "Oh and do not mind my Commandos. They're here as a safety precaution. The last time me and Sularen came here on Eriadu, let's just say the reception was quite negative." Rackham continued, hinting to his experience during the disastrous summit at Eriadu years ago.

"That being said. The Grand Admiral is open to hearing whatever you have in mind, after all it has been decades since he had feuded with your predecessor Credius." Rackham said. While the Grand Admiral still had somewhat of an aversion towards House Nargath, for their role in the pre-mature collapse of one of his organizations in addition to having even a greater complicated history with Eriadu in general, he had always maintained the belief that there was always some room to reason with and come to an understanding with former adversaries, especially in changing times. If House Nargath could be brought into the fold, then not only would Sularen be able to gain a potential major ally and end an ancient rivalry but he'd also be in a position to unseat another rival whose sponsors continued to undermine him.

Hopefully, the old rivalry between Sularen and Nargath could come to an end today, replaced by a blossoming partnership that would only serve to strengthen both parties. But for now, Rackham would need to decipher and understand what plans House Nargath for the foreseeable future and see how compatible they could be with Sularen's own agenda as any future partnership would rely on the compatibility of the individual interests of both parties.

Eriadu - 902 ABY

Looking up from the Naboo blossom wine he had already ordered for himself as he awaited the arrival of the one called Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen , Tertius' eyes wandered towards the entrance of the establishment he had been waiting at, when the distinctive uniform style of any imperial faction clearly contrasted with the restaurant's rather flourishing and flowery style. Even though it wasn't all that uncommon...heck it was in a sense even extremely common to see imperial uniforms on Eriadu, the further away one was from the bustling ports, dockyards and military installations, the less common the sight was, and the restaurant in which the Marquis had been waiting perfectly fit the latter, being located far enough from all aforementioned locations to lack the usual commonality of imperial uniforms. It was because of this that Rackham Rackham was as visible to the head of the Nargath House as a Hutt was in a twi'lek dance party.

Raising his glass, Tertius made it clear where he was, greeting the incoming entourage with a simple gesture. While these men walked into the restaurant and clearly weren't used to the somewhat relaxed and aloof nature the restaurant seemed to exude, the Marquis stood up from his chair and held out his hand towards Colonel Rackham when the explanation for the grand admiral's absense was made clear. Allowing the colonel some time to shake his hand or not, the Marquis sat back down and simply nodded towards the security detail brought in by the imperial officer.

"Precautions are fine, I personally don't really bother bringing guards and the likes with me, it draws too much attention for my taste," Letting out a chuckle, the Marquis brought his glass to his lips, taking a sip from his wine before tapping with the index finger of his free hand on the menu placed on the table in between the colonel and Tertius himself. "Serious talk or not, I would be remiss not to offer you some beverage or a bite while we are at it. I can understand it is perhaps best not to consume alcohol during your working hours, but perhaps a cup of soothing tea or something else to clear the mind and fill the stomach may be a wise choice."

Nodding towards the colonel's security team, it was clear that this option for drinks and a bite to eat was also directed towards them. "It might be a bit discomforting, but could you perhaps have your security detail take a seat at the table next to us, that way they remain close to you and can still check the surroundings without having to frighten or discomfort the other customers here...or do you want me to clear out the entire restaurant...both options are open and on the table as we speak."

Listening to the Colonel's initiative, clearly showing the willingness to open up proper discussions and showing some knowledge on the reason why House Nargath and the Sularens haven't exactly been the most willing compatriots within the galaxy, the Marquis from his side attempted to appease the spokesperson to the grand admiral with providing enough comfort and security on a planet which seemed to have given some...traumatic experiences during prior visitations.

"First and foremost, I am aware of what has happened during the last visit," Letting out a deep sigh, the Marquis shook his head with his eyes closed, showing a great discomfort at the rememberance of the lessons he had learned at the academy. "After my great uncle had retreated from both the House and the planet, the Tarkins managed to quickly wrestle control from my late grandfather, who though a loving husband and father, was weak and insecure...his failures have indirectly led to the awful circumstances in which your superior had found himself in."

Tapping on the table again, showing a sort of restlessness common among people who tended to be bussy all day and weren't used all that much to what entailed to be a relaxing conversation, Tertius let out a soft chuckle. "Still, what happened in the past is almost none of my concern...the admiral may have gotten on in years and may have experienced many a rivalry and enmity, but I am young, vibrant and not willing to continue with pointless bickering and sour feelings between families and houses that have nothing to do with me personally...I hope you understand this sentiment of mine, Colonel?"
