So as the title suggests I'm new-ish around these parts, and clumsy obviously. I joined a few years ago then got distracted (read: went to grad school). But certain people have peeked my interest again and pointed me in your direction, so here I am.

Last time I gave this a go I didn't even join a faction (at least I don't recall doing so) which makes me completely at your mercy in regards to what to do next.

I've updated my biography but to summarize shes been working for her uncle who has his own small Merc group on Corellia, her family was killed by the Black Sun, and she is force sensitive.

I'd like to RP her joining the NJO but I'm not sure exactly how to go about that.

If you know Jacen, and he has the time, you could do worse for a Jedi to train you. I would love to, but my availability is so hectic it is absurd, no way to predict it and it' only getting worse.
