Business As Usual

The future is now.
Build a better you today.

Bhaltair had exactly 21.3 seconds to lean back in his office chair and relax. He had just got back from cutting their Mandalore business front's red ribbon for the public. They had absolutely loved him over there and the company likely could only benefit from his direct supervision while taking its first steps. However, Bhaltair was all too anxious to get back to things on Phindar.

This was the HQ, the flagship, his home. At this stage, if anything were to happen here, Mandalore would soon follow. He wanted to be back in his custom office and among his much more familiar people. Besides, Mandalore was just starting out whereas business was booming over here. It was best that he was back.

20.7 seconds later, his secretary's voice came through the intercom.

"Sir, we have a dozen work orders to place today. I know you like to be directly involved in the surgeries, but there are many other things that need your attention: First off, numbers are in from our production factories---"

"Um, Becky? I know that you and I are relatively new to this whole business thing, but I think we should learn quickly that it's not wise to go over everything on the comm line. If you could just send me the task e-file for today, that'd be great."

"Oh, I'm SO sorry, Dr. Dhimani."

"You're fine, Becky."

Soon thereafter, he opened the file and rubbed his forehead at the sight of it. So many people needed to communicate with him about this or that, let alone the fact that he had to go over the quarterly planning with the production factories, monitor progress on Mandalore and coordinate/plan out the development of new tech in their workshop. Much of the list could be taken care of by others, but the task of delegation also took at least some time and there was a lot to delegate. He looked up at a picture of his parents on his desk and wondered how they ever dealt with this. His thoughts began to stray towards his brother, so he quickly shoved thoughts of family out of his head and dove into work.

Who knew what else could happen today?

Razel Kolt enters the building. He looks around. It was... Interesting. He had earned credits doing jobs he could find and figured he could come here to improve on his cybernetics. He could already see some images of cybernetics. One looked like an eye - if he could afford it he could replace his missing one. He would look for someone at the front desk.

"Uh, hello. I'd like to see your selection of cybernetics."

He does not speak forcefully and a quiet robotic voice echoes his speech. This was the place for a person like him - he could already tell.

The woman at the front desk, Sylvia, turned her head away from the screen, tucked a strand of rogue, chestnut hair behind her ear and smiled at the newcomer. Admittedly, he was quite the intimidating one, but she had become accustomed to seeing men and women in varying states of health and cybernetic procedure walk through the double doors and require assistance. She pressed a couple of buttons and a holo screen projector raised out of the counter top. The light turned on and revealed a hovering, virtual keyboard for a simple sign-in screen.

"If you could please write down your name before beginning, that would be wonderful."

After completing that, a comprehensive listing of Crescentia Industries' available cybernetics and augmentations would become available for viewing.

"Just let me know if you have any questions," said Sylvia before focusing once more on her paperwork.

He writes down his name: 'Razel Kolt'. Quite the selection, there was. From cybernetic limbs to brain implants, to data storages. Having a new eye would be helpful, but costly. He could perhaps ask for increased reflexes - would help with his combat ability. Quite the hard decision. And so he let the price influence his decision.

"I'd like to buy this enhancement - cybernetic reflexes?"

He makes up his mind. Probably should stick to what he can surely afford.

"A very good selection, sir!" beamed the receptionist. "Now, you also have the option to seek a consultation before going through with the procedure. It's free and recommended, but it will, of course, take time and if you're 100% already decided, then there is no need. Most people who do go through with it believe it was a good use of time, though. We personally handle the installation of our cybernetics, to avoid any potential legal pitfalls, so the surgery cost and procedure is a non-negotiable aspect of this transaction. So, would you like for me to set up this consultation before we proceed? We can get you in and out within thirty minutes to an hour."

Sorry, bud. Working out and working a job took a toll on time. Also, I can feel Pokemon Go start to suck away my soul. XD

"Alrighty, then!" said the receptionist. "Head on up to floor number 3 and wait outside the offices until the secretary calls you in."

The third floor was filled with the offices used by those who held consultations, ran psychiatric tests and did a myriad of other social work related tasks to ensure that patients and customers had their psyche checked out properly. It wouldn't do to allow a person swayed by a mental disorder or notable destructive tendencies to go through with a procedure. They had a reputation to maintain around here. Although, they couldn't force anyone to a consultation, it certainly gave them a much better idea of whom they were serving instead of an e-document.

Since the company's first moments of origin, Bhaltair had pitched in and helped process the applicants whom came through the consultation process. Now, he was kept busy with much more important work. However, one could not stare at numbers all day and call himself sane. It was time to break the monotony and Bhaltair found a way to do that. Looking for any sort of distraction, he glanced at the consultation queue. Nothing.

He would refresh the page once, to see if anything changed, and then go back to work. *Click*...Well. The name [member="Razel Kolt"] jumped into the waiting list. He glanced at the time and noticed that it was a transitional period for Floor Three, what with lunch breaks and the like. He thought it'd be best for him to handle this, for his sanity and theirs. He sent in a redirect order to the secretary of Floor Three and she called for Razel's attention after he had been waiting there for seven minutes.

"Mr. Kolt? Please report to Floor 12 for your consultation. The secretary up there should buzz you straight on through to the head office. Thank you for waiting."

(hey, no prob, I've been on holiday)

Razel turns from where he was, heading away from floor 3.

"Alright then."

He goes on his way to floor 12. Would be good to learn about what he was buying.

(sorry for the short posts, but we haven't gotten to the bulk of the rp yet and I don't want it to drag on until it gets boring)

(Typically, a lot of experienced RPers that I know flesh out their role play by crafting the scene around them and revealing how their character feels about and reacts to it. Small things like that and the audience revelation of personal thoughts gives the audience an in-depth look into the character. To make a character feel intriguing and interesting, you have to grip the audience with more than just dialogue. Brian Jacques enthralled readers with wonderful descriptive words whenever it came to food; so much so that it would make the reader's mouth water. If you want stimulate interest in a thread, it's wise to flesh out posts, even if you're only doing a few simple actions. That isn't to say that I've been away because of your posts. I've recently been working on sketching manga, so the computer has been set aside for a while. I'm catching up now.)

The secretary on the 12th floor showed no particular interest in [member="Razel Kolt"]. She had enough work to do and she had been watching Kolt through the security cam console to her right. She simply said to him without looking up,

"On your right, through the double doors, sir."

Upon walking through the double doors, Razel would be greeted by the sight of Bhaltair's rather large office. Standing at the window was Bhaltair himself, peering out upon the city below. His hands were covered in metallic mesh gloves and he wiggled his fingers in an attempt to manipulate an ebony, metal orb hovering and quivering in the air. When he had first started playing with this little toy, the ball consistently fell to the ground and he had to sheepishly pick it up with a little bit of annoyance nagging at the back of his head.

Now, as he constantly tweaked the grav forces with the constant movement of his fingers and hands, he was able to use it like a yo-yo, catch it like a ball, hover it around his body, juggle it in the air, etc, without dropping it once. As Razel Kolt entered further into the office, Bhaltair would turn to him and toss the ball, saying,

"Think fast!"

If he didn't catch it, the mild magnetism alone would be strong enough to attract to the closest metal part of his body, but not risk messing with his electronics, and hold fast with a clank! sound. Maybe not the best kind of introduction, depending on how Kolt reacted, but, hey, Bhaltair was still fresh.

Razel Kolt saw the way the secretary quickly entered him. Huh, guess this place probably gets a lot. As he enters he sees a man, probably the one who would talk to him, holding something. "Think fast" Razel hears and sees the ball coming right at him. Instinctively, he puts his arm out. But who would've expected that sorta thing here? The catch fails and the ball is attracted to his arm, around the wrist.

"That's... a way to introduce."

He's obviously not angry or frustrated, and even makes a small chuckle. He had actually been worried this would be overly formal. From the looks of things, it wasn't. He pulled it off with his hand but - ah jeez - now it was attracted to his hand. He placed his other hand on it, pulling it away, but he still kept his other close enough to get a pull. And, after a while of separating his two hands, slowly, the magnetic ball dropped to the floor.

Razel Kolt said:
"That's... a way to introduce."

A small smirk touched the corners of his lips.

[member="Razel Kolt"]

He stooped down, activated the recall feature and waited for the ball to roll into his waiting palm. Then, he took off the toy and gloves and put them hastily away in their box. After that, he went to sit down and gestured to the seat in front of his desk. Sure, the introduction was risky, but Bhaltair had come a long way listening to his heart, searching his mind and following his gut.

"Please, have a seat...Now, judging by your impressive loadout, you're already quite familiar with undergoing cybernetic procedure. Tell me..."

He leaned back in his rolling office chair and steepled his fingers.

"How do you feel about your body? Any lingering regrets? Excitement, maybe? Do you have any questions about cybernetics in general that I could help you figure out? Also, it is not my intention to offend you. If a certain question rubs off as offensive, we can steer clear and move on, no problem."

(Sorry, man. I goofed.)

[member="Bhaltair Dhimani"]

Razel takes a seat. He listens intently to what the man has to say. Seems like he is quite the genius with cybernetics - no surprise though.

"Regrets about the cybernetics I have, no. Not really excitement either. And don't worry about offending me."

He felt like he needed to get that out of the way. He would probably not be offended. With that said, he really didn't feel like going off into how he got his cybernetics, purely out of what he saw as laziness.

"How I feel about my body is it's... Well-done, but was not developed in the best circumstances. Which is why I came here, figuring there would be room for improvement."

The robotic voice behind Razels was rather quiet now, his speech feeling more conversational than usual.
