Business is Booming

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay had received word from her brother and their friend, Gray about a new client and possible member or ally for the Free Colonies. She was just on Bakura in the market in Salas'Dar, visiting her favourite tea vendor when she got the message. Well, time to see if [member="Sirius Nova"] would meet her here. She had never heard of the man, nor did she know what kind of personality that he had. Did he like worlds like this? Or did he prefer one with a higher population? One thing for sure was that she would soon find out.

After leaving Miss Shea and the tea booth behind, Kay set out for the woods. On her way towards her cabin, she took out her datapad and recorded a message while she walked. ~"Greetings. I am Lady Kay, Minister of Diplomacy for the Free Colonies. I hear that you have requested a meeting? Would you kindly meet me on Bakura at these co-ordinates?"~

She entered in her location and then sent off the message. Now all that she had to do was wait. And waiting was the perfect excuse to make herself some Sapir tea.

After getting the transmission, a small frigate would land on the planet. Out of the Frigate would come a mountain of a man, clad in a black body suit. On his arms were a set of what appeared to be golden gauntlets that had numerous spikes on him. The body suit itself had a set of three blood red stars, and an iron crown was on his head. Entering the area where she was, the Emperor of the Narrikians had come alone and unarmed, save for a sword he had strapped across his back. Rather than rely on bodyguards or troops to protect him today, he was going to meet with someone new and see about expanding the reach of the Narrikians.

"So tell me about your Faction. History, racial composition, did it at one time or other have ties to the Galactic Empire that Palpatine ruled? I also want to know what technologies you use, on a regular basis. As well as any information on any groups of Force Users at your disposal. "

As the part about the Galactic Empire was spoken, heavy amounts of venom could be detected in his voice as Sirius didn't like the Galactic Empire. None of the Narrikians liked the Galactic Empire one bit, and many of them cursed Palpatine and his followers on a regular basis for invading, and slaughtering one of the best Emperors they had at the time. Given he was new to the throne, Sirius still had a lot to learn. But with time, and effort he would gain the information and intelligence he needed to rule his people properly.

Kay heard the ship landing nearby. Her tea was ready and she was already halfway through drinking it. After setting her tea down, she stepped outside to greet her guest. [member="Sirius Nova"] looked like quite an imposing figure, given his height and black armour. She raised a brow as he didn't introduce himself, so much as get right down to business. Well, some people were like that....

She bowed her head to him and guessed that he didn't even want to go inside, which was fine. Perhaps this was just a short visit anyways. "The Free Colonies is not very old, as far as factions go. But no, we do not and have not had ties with the Empire nor Palpatine. However we make up a core of people and worlds that have been and still are neutral, in the grand scheme of things. Our people cover many different races, occupations. We're almost a rag tag group of underdogs, you might say. As for technologies, we have many at our disposal, as well as companies that we own and have contracts with. They range from medical and social, to weapons, ships and armour. We're pretty self sufficient. We have no Force user groups tied to us, that I am aware. However there are Force users among us." Kay kept her own abilities a secret still. She knew the stigma that many had for Force users and didn't want to be treated differently because of it.

Sirius considered what she had said, and folded his hands behind his back. Her words had a ring of actual truth, and she seemed to be honest. If her faction indeed was new, it could benefit from the support of the Narrikians because they'd need a faction anyway. Sirius sighed as he looked at her for a moment. "You know, I'm considering signing up the Narrikians with your faction. My name is Sirius Nova, and I'm the Emperor of the Narrikians as you've probably guessed. Hopefully my bodyguards won't show up and find me. I've been trying to ditch them all month as they're more than a bit overzealous when it comes to protecting me. So tell me, have any food prepared inside?"

Kay raised a brow as he spoke of running from his bodyguards for the past month. It surprised her more than hearing that [member="Sirius Nova"] was an Emperor. "Yes, in a manner of speaking. Please come inside." She held open the door for him and waited for him to pass through before closing it. His bodyguards probably had a tracking beacon on his ship and she wondered how long it would take for them to find him. Perhaps this meeting would just be a brief one because of it.

As he stepped into the living room, she went off to the kitchen and prepared him a cup of tea. Her own cup was still resting on the coffee table, half full and cooling. While it was steeping, she got out a plate of biscuits for them. It wasn't much of a meal, but it was food. She hadn't planned on dining in that evening. "Why do you run from your bodyguards, if I may ask? Surely such a thing would only cause them to distrust you."

"They are a bit overzealous. They tend to do things like put 30 of them between me, and anyone I'm talking to, and stuff like that. It's why I didn't want to even bring them this time around. So I snuck out during the night when they were all asleep. " Sirius walked inside with her, but she could tell he was tense because of the worry of his bodyguards showing up. Hopefully they wouldn't, or he hoped they would not anyway because he didn't want to deal with them to be honest. Sitting down when she offered tea he gently blew on it before sipping at it. "As they are overzealous, I escape them when neither the Dawn Guard, the ones who guard me during the day or the Eclipse Guard, their night time replacements are on duty because honestly, it stresses me out having to have so many."

She smirked as she sat down after bringing the plate of biscuits in. "That trick can only last you so long before they are wizened up to it. Maybe if you earned their trust a little more, they won't keep their numbers so high." Kay picked up her tea and had a sip. "But I know what it's like to get annoyed with having bodyguards. Sometimes my brother doesn't let me go anywhere without them. Or at least having a friend or two with me. But I felt no need to do so in this case."

She cradled her mug in her hands. "Well....if you're in a rush we'll get straight into business. What do you expect to gain from the Free Colonies, and we'll see if we can meet them."

[member="Sirius Nova"]

Sirius nodded at her, and considered what the Narrikians had to gain. Well if the Five Colonies possessed better space ships there was something the Narrikians were going to need. It would certainly aid them in preventing any space invaders from simply devastating the planet, a tactic the Moff could have ordered had he been allowed to do so. "Well, if you possess quality space ships the Narrikians could certainly use access. Even for our admittedly fairly good technology, space travel has been not one of our best areas lately, we don't even have a shipyard. The ship I came in is the only one possessed by the Narrikians presently unless you count old antiquated Imperial Shuttles that have been modified and practically rebuilt from the ground up. " Sirius paused for a moment to think about it.

"As for technology, we do need to increase the amount of ground defenses we have, as even with the stuff we took that the Empire left behind during Palpatine's era, a ground invasion is still a very viable way to dethrone me... or eliminate me. A problem that I am working on addressing. Perhaps some information on the various uses of the Force, Jedi... Sith, and unaffiliated would also come in handy. It would certainly aid the Narrikians in understanding the Force which to my knowledge is an Energy Field some can manipulate while others cannot.

We could use more inhabitants on our world, to help broaden the gene pool. Socially we don't even have access to the Holonet or any form of offworld communication yet, a problem that will need to be addressed soon. If you know of any Force Orders who could use a Home so long as they don't try to impose their belief systems on others, they could use my world Setus Prime as their home. "

Kay-Larr

Well that certainly was a lot. Kay took it all in, half paying attention to what [member="Sirius Nova"] was saying, and half thinking of the various companies and people that she knew which could fill those needs.

"That is plenty of needs to fulfil, but I believe that it's doable, given some time. We have companies that build ships and retrofit old ones as you have. And we can get some teams down there to help with communications so that your world will have access to the Galaxy. Weapons and military technology are easy to come by in this day and age. There are even suits of armour that are much more advanced than the one you are wearing right now. As for people, there are plenty of refugees and former slaves out there that would love to get a fresh start somewhere and your world could be just the place for them."

She sipped her tea before continuing. "On the topic of Force users however, I'm not entirely sure of what you mean by information on them. Are any of your people Force sensitive? Or are they just curious about it?"

"Excellent. As for your question, a lot of them are Force Sensitive.. myself included. Sure we've done a lot of research, and studies into the Force on our own but we don't have enough information on the subjects, actually. I've never really learned why the Force is divided into 'Light' and 'Dark' sides, 'Jedi' and 'Sith' as the old imperial records we have didn't really have any data on that. Some are just plain curious even though they cannot use the Force. Several of the Dawn Guard are Force Users. There are also some of the Eclipse Guard who can use the Force. "

Sirius paused for a moment, letting that sink in.

Having finished his tea, he held out his hand to her.

"I look forward to the Narrikians becoming part of the Five Colonies. It will certainly benefit us both because you'll have access to an entirely new race. Oh and one other thing." Sirius somberly looked at her for a moment, before he took his sword off of his back, sheath and all.

"Do you know of anyone who could enhance this blade with the Force?"

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
"Well, I don't think that the Force is divided. It's more on what the person using it is like, if they are good people or bad."

She set down her tea and placed her hand in his, giving it a soft yet firm shake. "And we thank you for having interest in the Free Colonies. We'll bring over our communications experts to help set you all up for access to the holonet and other such things."

Kay raised a brow at his request for enhancing his sword. "It's your sword. If you mean to keep it and you are Force sensitive, then you should be the one to do it."

[member="Sirius Nova"]

Sirius nodded and gently shook her hand. So she believed he should be the one to infuse his sword with Force Power perhaps. "I see. So the Light Side and the Dark Side actually relate to the morality possessed by them. So Lady Kay, where shall we begin? Are there any legal documentations that need to be signed by me, or anything?" asked Sirius, considering what he needed to do in order to make the Narrikians part of the Free Colonies. Hopefully he wouldn't have much to do in that regard, but if he did have to do a lot, he would do a lot.

Kay-Larr

Kay nodded at his words on the light and dark side. It was the easiest explanation. She reached over to her satchel and pulled out her datapad, bringing up a contract. It contained free trade agreements, technology sharing, military, agriculture and immigration, not to mention education. She took a peek at it first to be sure that everything was in order before handing it to [member="Sirius Nova"] . "Here you are. It's pretty basic. If you feel that there's anything to add or remove, just let me know and we'll work on it. Otherwise if it's to your liking you may sign it and we can get started." She gave him a smile.

Sirius looked over the contract, and then signed it. This would earn the Narrikians the resources needed in order to allow them to build off of their world. Eventually they'd have to abandon it anyway because their planet had a few Earthquakes. The Earthquakes would probably cause the planet to break apart and so they'd need to abandon it in favor of a new world. "I will need to move the Narrikians off of planet and to a new one. Do you have any suggestions as to where?"

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay slipped the contract into her satchel. She blinked at his suggestion of moving off world. And not just him and his family either, but the entire population. "Um.....How many people are you talking about?"

She had a few suggestions, but that was all. Yet there were always places outside of the Free Colonies as well. "And when will this big move take place?" Not to mention how. What [member="Sirius Nova"] was asking for wasn't impossible, but it was quite expensive and extensive.

"Currently, according to the last Census that was taken, there are roughly 2.5 billion. Soon they're likely going to attempt to create a Transport, or Transports that can hold them all in order to allow them to leave, and I'll have to go with them. And as to when, as soon as enough food and supplies can be prepared, all the historical information can be backed up, architectural plans can be drawn up to build new cities on whatever world, and we've basically removed everything of value. Once we've gotten that done, we'll be ready. Of course the matter of acquiring a large enough fleet to move all of them, will still be an immediate issue. Plus we don't have much in the way of a Navy to defend such an effort."

Sirius rubbed his temples, because he felt a headache coming on. Relocating his species was going to be one of his most difficult... near impossible challenges yet.

"Moving them is going to be a royal headache."

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
"That will be quite the undertaking. We'll have to find a world large enough to house that many people. And I don't think that it will be possible to move everyone at once. It'll have to be in stages. Those of your people that can build and construct will need to be among the first to go. Followed by the scientists, farmers, government officials, etc. It's a process that could take a few years. Otherwise we may have to split up your population on different worlds."

So much to do, though not impossible. Hopefully whatever would be decided would be done on time. Kay had a lot of companies and research to do.

[member="Sirius Nova"]

"Splitting them up on the different worlds may actually be a wiser decision, it would give the Narrikians more of a chance to broaden out and learn more about the galaxy. Plus if it convinces them they don't need me to micromanage EVERYTHING, that would be a big relief." Sirius paused for a moment as he considered a few things and then said to her. "So count the Narrikians into the Free Colonies. I'll convince my people it's for the best. Of course we'll definitely have to make it not seem like an invasion of any kind when your people come to visit Setus Prime to start the evacuation. The Narrikians wouldn't...take such a thing well. They'd probably revolt if it came to an invasion."

Kay smiled and bowed her head. "Wonderful. Welcome to the Free Colonies. And no one likes to feel as though they are being invaded. How about if you do a lottery? The prize of course being to explore new worlds. That should boost morale and make moving a much smoother process."

Sirius thought about it for a moment. "Yes, a lottery does sound like a good idea. Question, could you acquire a lightsaber for me so that I could bind it to myself with the Force?" As he asked this he realized he needed a weapon. "We do have only one ship presently." Sirius Nova paused as he thought about the situation. "I happen to need a weapon, so the guards don't need to be around me as often."
