Tacky Thing
Kaia smiled. It felt good to get away. She was grateful for her father, and uncle to allow her the chance to spread her wings again. Yes, she did a bit of an odyssey for a year before making her way back to the family business. Not the family war business, no. That was her father's alone. This was her in the true family business. Resource gathering and hyperspace trailblazing. Like her friend Mara, Kaia enjoyed it but she was more than happy to get away from it again. So much so that she had docked her Pulsar freighter on the Dawn Chaser and sent the past few months doing a rebuild of an old Starbird shuttle.
Still, old for a Starchaser was not necessarily a bad thing. It was in decent shape and when she had finished ripping out the offensive systems and replaced them with a low level amount, of forward facing blasters and a double cannon rotating turret, she felt better. Shields and engines and countermeasures were up next.
Many a good hours of time spent tweaking the power supply, and she still didn't have it right. According to her father it was too many things in a small container. But he was the architect behind the original ship. She even ripped out the old simulated intelligence so that she and her probot Drifter could get to work on the piloting.
All it had needed was its initial test.
And that test had taken her out towards Ession, an industrial world that she was using as a hop off to get further out into Wild Space. Her brother may have done a lot of time with the Outer Rim Coalition, but Kaia was much more the speed of the not-being-in-a-government and finding her own path. The Zenith now painted a navy blue with bloodsteel designs had touched down on one of the stations outside of Ession.
Not a shadow port, this was a primary station and somewhere she could get fuel, and cat food. Her Corellian sand cat named Stripe was in her ship and she was going to need a bit more food. The dark haired Mirialan locked her ship and made her way to the market, looking for a bite to eat. Filled with her newfound freedom, the hunt for a world of myth, and her father's promise that there was treasure out there.
