Buying, Selling and Smuggling

Noah didn't usually try to get involved with crime syndicates, hell most of the time he flat out ignored them, syndicates like the Black Suns, Hutt Cartel and Red Ravens coming to mind. But when he did research into the Twin Lotus Syndicate he found that he actually respected what they did. They were skirting the law, providing service that due to some careful political footwork before the Silver Jedi had taken over allowed the most of the things they did to be legal and the stuff that was less than legal they just ran out of the Carida V space station above the planet.

Noah was thinking this would be a perfect place for him to funnel his weapons through and get them on the blackmarket for the multiple resistance groups that were around the galaxy. And of course there was also the leader, not too hard on the eyes in his opinion, the fact she was Twi'lek might have helped.

So Noah decided to send her a message.

Dear Ms.Domino

I have come across the information that you might be in the need of a constant weapons supplier, Hekler'Kok is willing to give you a steady supply of weapons. I'll supply the weapons and you pay for them at about a twenty-five percent discount from a normal retail price. If you are interested in this and wish to discuss the details you can meet me at the HDI HQ on Fenessa.

Signed

Padding barefoot into the Sangromancer’s lounge, Domino rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Where was that damn data pad? She’d been on Vaynai standard time for a while now despite being all over the galaxy these last few weeks. Things were really moving for Phenex after her return and her ‘criminal’ enterprises were taking off as well. After finding her pad under a pillow it’d fallen behind and reading Noah’s message, she leaned back and tapped the edge of the pad to her lip. It looked like the Lotus’s would be matching Phenex for activity.

Having a direct line of Hekler ‘Kok weapons to sell straight from the factory would be an amazing feather to have in her cap, but the devil was in the details as they say. Was that discount off retail, or what they were sold to the retailers for? People bought guns through her syndicate not just because they were illegal to possess either as a civilian or a criminal, but because they were often cheaper than they otherwise would be. Considering her words, Domino began typing out a reply.

Thank you for your kind offer, more merchandise is always welcomed. However I have some concerns as last I was aware HDI was primarily a Protectorate supplier and I’ve no wish to draw their ire for spreading what they might see as their weapons and undermining their military. If you can assure me that is not the case then I can meet with you in three days from my current galactic position.

Noah laughed when they message came. She actually thought that he supplied the Protectorate with weapons. While in some aspects that was true he designed weapons for the Protectorate and then they were produced by the many companies the Omega Tech had under its belt. So while he did design them. They were not made by HDI and therefore the weapons he had for sale were his to sell, not the Protectorate.

Ms.Domino

My lady, I can assure you that all my weapons are mine and mine alone to sell. I can completely sell them to you without you getting any ire from the Protectorate. But I must assure you that I will only sell my weapons to you on a guarantee that they will not fall into to the hands of enemies of the Protectorate, i.e. the Sith, the Feds and the Primeval, while I am the CEO of HDI, I am a Colonel of the Pyre first and the CEO of HDI second.

Domino had moved up a level to the cockpit of her C-70 and input the coordinates for the planet she was supposed to meet Corek at, her only hesitation in initiating the jump came from waiting for a return message to ensure the jump would be worth her time. And when the letter came in, she had to say it probably wouldn't. Who else was she supposed to sell to if not the people the Protectorate wouldn't willingly supply anyways? Yeah she could always sell off to individuals but bulk was where the money, and thus her time, was best utilized. Still, rather than just write the whole thing off, maybe she could modify the deal to still be beneficial to the both of them.

With those stipulations, I am no longer willing to take the burden of risk entirely upon myself even with a 25% discount. If you would instead be amenable to fronting me your weapons, I would see you a return of 50% the remainder above production costs. This way you can offload your surplus and always be guaranteed a profit off the sale while the risk of selling is mine.

Noah scratched his chin as he looked at the weapon, fifty percent was a pretty good offer, enough for him to bump along a few more projects that had been delayed due to lack of funding. But even then he stilled needed more. Pulling up his datapad and typing in a message Noah smiled. He was just a bit happy he was getting to be able sell his weapons to someone in such.

Ms.Domino

I'm not saying you can not sell to people that the Protectorate would not sell. Just people who are not allied with people who are willing to see the Protectorate ill will. Even with that condition you still have a pretty good buyer base. Though I do get where you are coming from and will increase the discount by a extra ten percent, bring your full discount up to a pretty decent 35%.

Very well, I'm setting my course now. Shall we meet in three days time to discuss products, shipping, and the other fine details?

Domino, CEO Phenex Industries

Slipping the pad into the band of her pajama pants, Domino took the lift up to the c-70's command deck and began working the navigation console to plot the required jumps. She'd have to verge on some pretty dangerous space but that'd never given her reason to hesitate before. Fenessa itself however did. It was a planet she'd never been to before and as the engines spooled up for the jump, she began to read about it.

Noah smiled as the message came through from Domino. Noah might not have been the best business man, but he did understand that some tactics from his career as a Spec Ops for the Republic and as a Officer for the Pyre could be transferred over to the business field.

Ms.Domino

I am glad to hear that. The exact planetary coordinates will be enclosed in a seperate message. But until then I will await your arrival. But Miss Domino I'd like to say something first. Before working for the Pyre and Protectorate I was a soldier in the Republic SFD, Special Forces Division, and I have caused the death of many people through many various means. This is not a threat Miss Domino, it is a promise. If I find out your knowingly selling weapons to enemies of the Protectorate or their allies, I will find you and I WILL end you one way or another. Until then, good day.

Lost in the starfield of hyperspace, Domino didn't bother to reply to Noah's last message and instead left her pad on top of the console. 'Not a threat' indeed, in her experience the only thing that followed such a statement was a threat. RSF always had lacked finesse in her experience as well, and that was coming from her own years in Republic Intelligence. Nice to see some things hadn't changed in half a millennium. How many times had she been called on to do something they'd said was impossible? By the time she work up the next morning the threat had practically been forgotten.

Three days later and the Sangromancer appeared over the skies of Fenessa. Requests for landing clearances and so on were quickly sent on and instructions followed as Domino came in for a landing at Noah's desired meeting place.

Noah looked up while he was standing in the spaceport, seeing the Sangromancer, as we was informed was the name of the Consular-class Cruiser c70 Retrofit. It seemed Noah wasn't the only one who had an eye for vintage ships. Sending a transmission to the landing tower to bring her ship down in the bay next to Noah's personal ship, the Solomon, Noah's old retrofitted Hammerhead-class Cruiser.

(OOC: sorry for the short post, it's 1:30, I have another thread to get to and I have to get my cat to the vet at 10.)

Well if things started turning sour maybe she could turn the conversation towards Noah's ship. You didn't tool around the galaxy in a ship several thousand years old unless you loved it. And you wouldn't do it in a stock ship unless you loved it more than living and Domino was willing to bet that as little of the Solomon's original design remained as the Sangromancer's. Bringing her ship in for a graceful landing a short distance away from Noah's, Domino checked her usual outfit and tossed on a light nerff-hide jacket over her tunic in an attempt to look slightly more professional. Military fatigue pants and heavy boots rounded out her outfit making her look much like any other spacer.

Descending the boarding ramp, Domino stopped in the shade offered by the Sangromancer and waited for any welcoming comity. She didn't need the force to tell her that there was probably a half-dozen snipers drawing a bead on her and she didn't want to give them any reason to be jumpy. She had a reputation to upkeep after all.

Domino wouldn't feel any snipers taking a bead on her, Noah was a professional and was a honorable man, if he wanted Domino dead if she made a wrong move he'd just shoot her in the face where she stood instead of having someone else do his work for him. Though that didn't mean he wouldn't bring Gideon and Ilona as a sort of security dressed in blast vests, cargo pants, tactical boots and short sleeve black t-shirts.

Not that Noah looked anymore snazzy than they did, dressed in his standard issue Omega Pyre fatigues with the usual digitized greys and blacks designed less to fit in with the enviroment and more to tell the enemy who exactly the were karking with. Of course under that was the obligatory blast vest that protected him and of course he had one of his custom M9-T11's strapped to his right thigh in a easy enough position to quick draw it.

Walking up to Domino, Noah casually extended a hand, like he had never threatened her at all. "Ms. Domino welcome to Fenessa."

"Pleasure to be here," she replied reaching to take the offered hand. His bodyguards earned a cursory glance and from they way they held themselves they were clearly professionals. It'd be interesting to see how they matched up against her Lotus Guard. One thing was certain, no matter the outcome it wouldn't be pretty.
