- Can be dyed multiple colors for aesthetic value.
- The method of tanning can change the suppleness and texture of leather.
- Protective: Supple and malleable, Bvuot leather is a very protective material that can be used for a variety of technologies and armor.
- Leather not Alloy: Bvuot leather lacks the rigidity of many metals, meaning that it tends to absorb physical blows rather than full-on deflect them. This can lead to damage still being taken, while the blow remains non-fatal, it can still cause damage or injury.
The traditional protective substance of Ra'Kathan cultures, Bvuot Jala'di, or Bvuot Leather, is a material created from the cured hide of the Bvuot, the common beast-of-burden domesticated by Ra'Kathans. Extremely protective and able to be dyed multiple colors, the leather is used by both the Wan'anteen and the Dejoka'ar as a protective material primarily in armor and weapons. It offers protection primarily from elemental damage as well as common types of weaponry, both energy, and kinetic-based. In Dejoka'ar culture, it is not considered to be a valuable or upper-class material and is not used commonly in upper-class fashion or jewelry. However, it is universally recognized for its protective properties and thus most standard and traditional Ra'Kathan armors include bvuot leather.
