STRENGTHS

Agile - The main focus of the vessel was to provide a craft that was capable of keeping up with smaller fast-moving vessels or being able to chase off vessels and just as quickly return to its escort duties.

Maneuverable - Design to focus on performing combat maneuvers that are often difficult to execute in a Frigate of its size, the vessel is more than capable and has been reported to accomplish maneuvers that other vessels of its size have difficulty achieving.

Modularity - The forward blade of the vessel can be easily modified to suit a variety of mission profiles allowing the vessel to be much more versatile in its operational capabilities.

WEAKNESSES

Limited Hangar Capacity - Though capable of carrying two squadrons of starfighters the vessel is otherwise limited in its overall capacity when it comes to its hangar. In the event that it faces stiff resistance, it often must rely upon other vessels or carriers to provide additional Starfighter support.

Light Armaments - The focus on speed and maneuverability has resulted in a streamlining of other systems and the removal of some of those systems. This has resulted in multiple weapon systems being removed in favor of additional power and engine systems that provide the vessel's astonishing speed.

Sublight Drive Systems - Limited weapon coverage and the location of the drive systems have rendered them vulnerable to sustained focused attacks. Damage to these areas has the potential of crippling the vessel, rendering it incapable of moving or wholly inoperable.

DESCRIPTION

Ensuring that the supply lines are secure and that the people can move freely is just as important as fielding the largest fleet or armada to defeat an enemy; as you cannot win if your own supplies are constantly being overtaken and your people threatened. The Caamas-class Escort Frigate was designed to provide a means by which supply routes and caravans would be well guarded whilst also developing a vessel that could be modified to suit a variety of mission profiles as needed. Speed and Maneuverability were favored in the design, ensuring the vessel was able to easily chase off an enemy and return to its escort duty, as well as execute maneuvers that are often difficult to achieve. However, this focus has come at the expense of its armaments, which are considerably lighter than similarly sized and classified Frigates. While it is capable of deploying Starfighters, its overall purpose is not geared towards this aspect, as the Caamas-class Escort Frigate would often need to rely on additional vessels for Starfighter Support when faced with overwhelming odds or larger groups of enemy Starfighters. As many of its remaining weapons are oriented in a forward-firing arc, there remains limited coverage along the primary Sublight Drive Systems which are easily accessible and damaged. Sufficient damage to these systems has the potential to render the vessel inoperable, crippling the Frigate and preventing it from executing its tasks. The Caamas-class Escort Frigate provides the Galactic Alliance with a reliable vessel that is more than capable of filling in additional roles and mission variables as required. Its fast speed and capability to execute maneuvers with ease show that it is a valuable component in the overall fleet whilst providing Flag Officers an additional tool at their disposal in the ever-growing toolbox that is available to the Galactic Alliance Defense Force.
