STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Years as a soldier of the Republic have made Caben quite adept in the art of warfare, having
proven to be a capable combatant in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat, focusing more
on small arms as apposed to the bulkier, more unwieldy heavy weapons. As a result from
serving in a position of leadership, Caben has acquired some skill in managing smaller units
on the battlefield, though he has no experience with command on a larger scale.

Caben's sense of compassion and his desire to protect others drives him to impressive feats
of bravery and stamina, enabling him to face life-threatening situations without hesitation,
and to surpass hardships seemingly, from what his appearance would normally suggest,
beyond the physical limitations that he inherently possesses. When Caben fights for the lives
of others, he fights that much harder.

Though solemn, and having a tendency to keep to himself, Caben's mild temperament and
empathetic demeanor makes him easy to trust, and, should such a rapport be forged, can
become a reliable confidant and friend.

Though not exactly born to travel the stars, Caben is quite comfortable with the spacers life.
Having become familiar with the basic workings of a starship, both in terms of how the ship
functions mechanically, and how the crew interacts with and operates the vessel, Caben has
a firm grasp on space travel, and would prove to be a competent and valuable member of
any crew.

Caben has a crippling fear of the monsterous Doashim (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Doashim), a vicious predator
native to the deep caverns of Ryloth. His past experiences facing this horror have left deep emotional
scarring, often having recurring nightmares and flashbacks of the traumatic event as a result.

Caben's altruism makes him more inclined to make personal sacrifices. He would give his life without a
second thought if he felt it would be beneficial to do so, especially if the act is made in order to preserve
lives.

Because of his brief exposure to ryll, an addictive spice with hallucinogenic properties, Caben has
developed a strong aversion for any sort of stimulant or medication. It takes a great deal of effort to
overcome this revulsion. Even attempting to use non invasive healing agents, like bacta, is a struggle.

Caben possesses a great deal of respect for the Jedi Order. More than anyone else, the knights of the force
have instilled in Caben the virtues and ideals that have made him who he is presently. Caben places great
faith and trust in the Jedi, and would blindly follow any member of the order to death and beyond, should
they will it. (Jedi Order friends, take advantage of this to your heart's content!)

BIOGRAPHY:

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

Caben Marr was born on Balmorra in the capital city of Bin Prime. At a young age, Caben had developed
an avid fascination with the Jedi Order. His father would regale him with exciting tales about swinging
light-swords, mystical, all-encompassing force powers, and the epic battle between good and evil;
between the noble Jedi, and the dreaded Sith. Dreams of grandeur and adventure floated within the young
boys head, inspiring the thought that, someday, he would traverse the stars like the heroic Jedi do,
protecting the innocent and battling evil forces that threatened their lives.

However, it wasn't until Caben had his first encounter with a member of the order that his path was
forever set, destined for things greater than a quiet life on Balmorra. The Jedi had been fighting against a
well armed bounty hunter. Harnessing the awesome powers of the force, the Jedi dispatched his assailant
quickly, having barely lifted a finger. Star-struck by the imposing figure of the force user, and enthralled
by his power, Caben idolized the Jedi Knight. From that moment on, Caben wished nothing more than to
become a member of the order. Unfortunately, and to the young boys dismay, he soon discovered that he
did not possess the potential necessary to use the force, and would never attain his dream of becoming a
knight.

Having excepted his fate as simply another mundane soul in a sea of trillions, Caben abandoned his
ambition to become part of the order, but the burning desire to serve and protect the denizens of the
galaxy never diminished. Caben later joined the Republic army as a non commissioned officer, serving
with distinction and rising quickly through the ranks, eventually acquiring the title of sergeant.

Throughout Caben's years of service, his naive childhood delusions slowly gave way to reality. slavers,
pirates, thugs, Sith; The galaxy was a cold place, and it seemed for every good deed-- for every act of
kindness, there were twice as many cruelties. Even the Galactic Army of the Republic was not
without fault. Eventually, Caben became more reserved and distant as the harsh lessons began to sink in.
The galaxy was uncaring and cruel, and Caben's idealistic nature began to deteriorate.

During Caben's second tour of duty, he and is squad had been sent on a mission to Ryloth; everything
went horribly wrong. Whether it was through sabotage or malfunction, Caben never found out, the shuttle
carrying him and his men crashed on Ryloth's surface within the nightlands, the dark side of the planet. The
shuttle had been destroyed beyond repair and there were no known cities or settlements for miles in any
direction. It wasn't long before the mission became a struggle for survival. Predators littered Ryloth's
hostile surface, water was scarce, and supplies were dwindling, but the greatest danger had yet to come.

While they were safely shielded from the suns harmful rays by the planets bulk, Ryloth was known to
have unpredictable and intense heat storms that had the potential to travel past the planets terminator, and
into the nightlands. One such storm would hit the region the squad had become stranded in within three
days. The team had no choice but to flee in a race against time.

With the help of Korshar, a twi'lek squad member native to the planet, Caben and the surviving members
of the team made their way beneath the planets surface and into the tunnels that riddled Ryloth's interior
in order to escape the heat storm.

Making it to a safe distance beneath the surface, the squad barely had enough time to catch their breath
before they were attacked by vicious Doashim, a demonic looking predator that made the tunnels beneath
Ryloth's surface their home.

Though managing to escape, Caben was injured in the encounter. Most of the medical supplies had been
exhausted during the journey. As infection began to set in, Korshar was forced to find alternate means to
keep Caben alive. Knowing of its medicinal qualities, Korshar used a mineral called Ryll, found in one of
the tunnels, to preserve Caben's life. Though successful, the mineral caused Caben to experience vivid
hallucinations.

During one of Caben's hallucinatory episodes, the Doashim attacked the survivors once more, but were
driven off by the timely arrival of a band of Twi'lek hunters. Korshar and Caben were the only survivors
of the attack, and were led to a small Twi'lek clan deep underground where Caben was able receive much
needed medical attention, though the encounter with the Doashim left more than just physical scars.

While there, Caben had had the opportunity to learn more about the Twi'lek people. Korshar had become
a good friend and eventually taught Caben how to speak Ryl, the native language of the Twi'lek people.
As time went on, Caben became very fond of the people that had sheltered him. The kindness they'd
shown rekindled hope within him once more, chasing away any doubt that good people did inhabit the
galaxy, and that he was not alone.

Having regained his strength, Caben and Korshar were given safe passage back to the surface of the
planet where they met back up with republic forces. Because of Caben's traumatic experience during his
time on Ryloth, leading to his currently disturbed mental state, he was medically discharged from service
and sent back to Balmorra.

Caben didn't stay long after returning home. Gaining passage off planet as a deckhand on a light transport,
he left Balmorra for the last time. Eventually, Caben initiated himself into the mercenary business, putting
the skills he'd acquired from his time in the military to good use, hiring himself out to those of amiable
character willing to pay a fair wage.

Now an experienced soldier of fortune, having been to all corners of the galaxy with over a decade of
experience, Caben moves from vessel to vessel with the intent on finding a ship worth serving on, and a
crew worth serving with.

While not exactly a galactic defender in the official sense, Caben strives to live up to the ideals and
aspirations as practiced by the Jedi Order. His sense of compassion for others has not waned since
childhood, and Caben does what he can for those in need when possible...

Home Amongst the Stars

As Caben searched for a more stable and long term position aboard a starship, he caught wind of a newly formed group, led by the battle-hardened bounty hunter, Serana Williams, called The Bluehawks. An ambitious band of bounty hunters and mercenaries, ready to take on any job that came their way, the Bluehawks seemed a capable force with plenty of potential for greatness. Having contacted the leader of The Bluehawks, Caben officially joined the quickly growing faction.

Among it's members was a man called Dranok Lussk, a self proclaimed Admiral commanding the Imperator-class Star Destroyer, Apex. Impressed by his military background and ability to command and maintain his ship and crew, Caben requested a transfer aboard his ship.

Now serving as the XO aboard the Apex, Caben eagerly looked forward to his new future as a member of The Bluehawks; at least for the time being...
