Caen has always been restless, from a young age he always had to be moving. His childhood was typical, he was educated and treated well, and flourished in language studies. He liked to run, anywhere, and was rarely in one spot in or around his parent's home for long. A natural explorer, like his ancestors before him, Caen wanted to venture into the stars and navigate the unknown. As a youngling he had dreams of becoming a galaxy-famous astrocartographer, however life went in different directions and his focuses shifted. Caen's parents encouraged his adventurous nature, and it came as no surprise when the young man purchased a barely functioning freighter and bid his family farewell.
His goal was to seek and find artifacts, secrets and uncover whatever he could get his hands on. He did well enough for a few years, he even discovered a connection to the Force that slowly began to grow as he used it more and more, but his applied training was minimal and more instinctual; one surprising development was Caen's ability with psychometry, which he supposed made sense given his want to learn the history of lost things. Along the way, he was contacted by his parents, who wanted to check in. Caen informed of his connection to the Force, and they immediately suggested he seek out his uncle, who might help with questions or answers to the power. So, in between jobs as an explorer and relic retriever, Caen did just that - he reached out and waited...
