Sanya Val Lerium

Neutral, Queen of Her people, Neko
Location: hammerhead cruiser

As Sanya sat down in her ship and made herself comfortable in the pilots, after about five minutes of looking around, she typed in to co-ordinates to the Hammerhead cruiser that would soon be leaving orbit and straight to Rendili for maintenance and upgrades. Sanya wanted to come along to personally thank camellia for her new ship.

With all checks done to the ship she left the hanger and straight for a vertical climb to orbit, there was no one with her so she could fully test out it's limits a little bit before hitting orbit. Sanya pulled the throttle fully back and as soon as she hit orbit it's speed increased. An entire fleet of republic ships where up here but the Hammerhead was just at the edge idle. they must have been making final preparation for the journey.

"this is Padawan Sanya Val Lerium in the Inqusition, I'm requesting permission to dock." the Hammerhead was massive in both length and height. she wondered how long it would take to walk the entire length. as Sanya gazed at the ship she got a response fom the ship. "permission granted please dock on the left side and welcome aboard." Sanya turned her ship to line up with the docking bay and releasing the throttle to slow down to dock. As her ship entered the cruiser Camellia was already waiting.

Sanya touched down turned off the engine's. "well that was fun" this was the first time Sanya got to use her ship and it left a massive grin on her face, she stood up from her chair and lower the rear ramp. As she walked across her ship Camellia was waiting at the back, as Sanya approached cameilla she bowed "hello cameilla, it's a pleasure to see you"

This would be one of the last of the Hammerhead cruisers returning to Rendili for a refit, and the class was sorely in need of one. Despite already being a refit of the original Hammerhead class thousands of years ago, the current class wasn't the mighty warship the original once boasted to be. They registered as frigates nowadays and didn't have the firepower or uniqueness to make up for their stature in combat. However, an approval to upgrade the entire class minorly, just extending the range and power of the forward guns, was finally through and soon enough the entirety of the Republic's Hammerhead class vessel line would be refit to run in battle with even better firepower and weaponry than before.

They just had to get all the ships currently in service to docks and have the entire product line overhauled. It wasn't necessarily a huge deal, but still it cost a lot to upgrade a ship line already in production in service. Not to mention all the time and work it took to convince the right people that enhancing the ships was the right idea. Still, being a Commodore nowadays certainly didn't hurt when she had to ask about those things, and owning the company that sold the contract to the Republic didn't hurt either.The only real contender was time, getting the work done soon enough and making sure that all ships were accounted for was the main goal.

Standing in the hanger though, Camellia did wonder if the Hammerheads needed an expansion there, but making the ship line bigger would be a monumental chore and be much more expensive than a weapons upgrade. While she was lost in thought, however, it seemed like someone else was coming along for the ride too. A young Padawan the Rendili woman hadn't heard of before, though there were plenty of them so it wasn't so surprising. Still, the Republic Naval Officer was more than welcome to tell the officer on duty that she was cleared to land. The Jedi were prime members of the Republic after all. "Its a pleasure to meet you too, actually now that I do think about it, you had requested a custom product a while back for the Order. What brings you here today."

Sanya smiled at camellia "I came to thank you in person for the new ship, and you did and excellent job might I add." Camellia had certainly impressed Sanya with how fast it was built. her company must certainly be one of the most efficient she'd ever see. "and I wanted to see what you're going to do to this masterpiece of a ship, and see first hand of how your company worked." Sure the ship had seen better days, and with new tech rolling out all the time it had become outdated. Sanya had an eye for picking out improvements as well as design.

"personally I think there is a lot to learn here, and with no tasks for me to do I thought it would be useful to see how the Republic works as a whole" maybe even from this she could take some things from this adventure and put it to use.

Sanya took a moment to think of what would be done to the ship, maybe more powerful weapons or even more space to store vehicles and cargo. there was alot of possibilities. "so Camellia what do you have in mind for the ship?"

[member="Camellia Swift"]

[member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

While that was certainly a simple thing to come all the way out to thank her for, Camellia was nonetheless rather happy to hear that the young Padawan was thoroughly enjoying the ship already. It hadn't been anything too advanced thankfully so it hadn't required too much effort to complete. However, the rest of the reason for the young Jedi's visit certainly had a lot more depth to it. Wanting to see how the company went about its business? Showing a jedi the shipyards wasn't too big of an issue, and the girl sounded quite earnest about wanting to learn about how the Republic worked. "Well I'm very pleased you appreciate the ship. To be honest this would have been the second request for a ship for the Jedi. The other being from Master Raaf a while back to construct a new line similar to the Defender class corvette we developed a long time ago. The new Protector class shares a similar design philosophy. I hear a few are in use by the Order. . . ."

"As for visiting the shipyards you're more than welcome. Its a welcome sight to see the Jedi interested in the progress of the Republic's other sections. You can likely watch this ship's upgrade process since you were wondering what we will be doing with it. This ship, along with the other Hammerhead frigates still in service, will be overhauled to be more effective. As of now they're all standard. It is my intention, after having gained enough support and funding from the Republic, to have the vessels in service rotated for upgrades to their weapon suites while in drydock before they're deployed again. After we're done every Hammerhead Frigate's forward guns will have increased range and firepower, and hopefully this will make them better support craft for our larger destroyers and cruiser." They likely wouldn't be able to do much more than that without much more significant resources and work. However, all the same Camellia looked forward to doing what she could with the product line. It was refreshing to have a Jedi watch part of the process play out.

As the ship reached the hyperspace entry point the internal comms would come to life informing the crew and passengers they were departing the system enroute back to Rendili, which would take a short while. "Well while we wait is there anything else you want to take about regarding the project or the other overhauls in progress? We can also hit the cafe if you want something to eat or drink while we discuss and wait to exit hyperspace back at Rendili."

this was the first time Sanya would have seen a project like this been done and it was exciting, better than a day sat in the archives witch is what she dose on most days. "sure a drink sounds nice" as camellia lead the way, everyone aboard seemed hard at work.

now might have been the best chance to learn about camellia and her company, obviously staying away from more personal and private question "so what would you say has been you're companies biggest achievement since you have owned it? and which line of work holds the highest priority with you, obviously you been an Officer an all?"

As we continued walking every crew member that we passed stood to the side and saluted, to earn that kind of respect amongst your fellow crew must be it's own kind of reward. "camellia are these your men from your company or soldiers from the republic?"

Entering the cafe, Camellia slid over to the drink dispensary and got herself a simple tea and offered the young Jedi the chance to get something for herself as well. As she sipped some of her drink as well the Rendili woman thought over the question she was asked by the Padawan too. Well the several questions really. "We have several amazing developments I'm proud of. We're building a large command ship for the Silver Jedi to be the centerpiece of their entire territory's defense. Its packed full of a lot more advanced tech than seems reasonable but it is a one of a kind ship, unique, so its not like it will be produced more than once. . . .damn expensive project for them though, but its definitely the singularly most impressive thing Rendili Stardrive has worked on to date. Personally I'm a huge fan of the work that the company has been putting into the Noblesse class destroyer for the Republic. It took a lot of political maneuvering to get the work off the ground and there were a few bumps, but the line is slated to go into construction very soon so I'm relatively happy. Compared to those, upgrading the Hammerhead Cruisers in service seems a tad boring, but its still highly necessary in my opinion. After all, a fleet isn't just a single monstrous ship, its a well coordinated collection. The upgrades to the Hammerhead Frigates weapon systems will make them much more effective in combat alongside the larger destroyers."

About what duties she considered most important though. . . . . ."I honestly prefer and side with my work at Rendili Stardrive if you ask. Rendili is my homeworld, I serve in the navy to protect it by fighting in the war, not because of anyone or anywhere else. The Republic keeps Rendili safe and free from menaces like the Sith, so I want to see it succeed. That is why our company works so hard to field new advanced vessels for the Republic and is more than happy to upgrade ships in service like the Hammerheads. We're well prepared to do what it takes to ensure our system continues to stay safe and prosper."

As they entered the cafe Sanya followed Camellia to the drink dispenser and got herself a coffee, and sat with Camellia as she answered the many questions Sanya had asked. "I got to admit you cause is quite noble" Sanya too a sip of her coffee before continuing "if it dose help I can always look into making some blueprints for new cruisers to add to the republic navy. I find creating new things help me relax and it helps pass the time. Lately I've been designing a new protocol droid, just something to maintain my ship like getting fuel and cleaning it."

there was always something about getting her hands greased up and tinkering that seemed fun, each new thing was a challenge and that was most of the fun trying to solve it. "Have you ever thought about expanding your company to increase your renown?" It was always a big step for any company, and sanya's curiosity kept getting the better of her and wanting to know what short term goals and possible long term goals camellia had. It must feel exiting when one has been accomplished.

The intercom made a short static noise before someone's voice spoke. "Eta to Rendili in 30 minutes. all crew report to your post's." This was the first time Sanya had been to Rendili and her excitement just kept growing. "I have to ask what is Rendili like, I've got to admit I have never been there?"

[member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

Noble? Well Camellia wouldn't have put it like that. Prudent and well meant perhaps, but noble may have been too strong. If they were noble they might be providing ships to the Republic free of charge, but they weren't a state run organization. After all, if they didn't make a profit they couldn't stay in business and keep functioning, which would inevitably leave the Republic with one less supportive shipwright. Although by the sounds of it there was always someone willing to help. The Padawan sounded truly earnest about aiding the Republic's manufacturing side. "We have a few designs lying around drawn up actually. We're always ready with a product it depends on the funding. We're not always sure how the Republic will take to a project so it depends on if they appreciate the design first. If they like it the more funding and more advanced a product line can become. We're always open to private contracts too for test products though so if you run something through the Republic they appreciate we're more than happy to aid in construction."

Bringing up expanding though got the Rendili woman excited, and she was eager to answer the other girl before the voice broke over the internal comm system and alerted everyone to their imminent arrival. "Well I suppose Rendili is quite average. It doesn't have any distinct characteristics like Coruscant, Dantooine, Tatooine, Kashyyyk, or Manaan, or well. . . most places that come to mind. Its a varied climate world with cities but not covered like Empress Teta or Coruscant. Its pretty. . . normal. Its standout features is its location as a Core World, being a founder world of the first Republic, and operating a founding shipwright, one of the first to exist. Its a wealthy world because of its location and business structure. And in fact we're expecting expand even more soon. Since the success of the Noblesse project we've been planning to expand our horizons and even start up another location on another planet. Part of it is so that we have more docks to build ships out of. Plus it will help on projects like mass reservicing of a series line like the Hammerhead now. You'll see what I mean when we're in dock and you see the berths. Shall we head to the hanger for a shuttle?"

Sanya stood up finnishing the last of her coffee. "sure let's go." She gave a little smerk trying to hide most of her excitement. As we made our way to the shuttle, all the crew was rushing around to make last checks. "So we going to your office first or straight to the docks?"

Sanya continued to follow camellia down the hallways of the ship, in the way camellia was walking anyone could tell she was happy to be home again. With the work the republic set camellia it must be a rare thing for her. As the entrance to the hanger opened there had already been a shuttle prepared for the transfer.

[member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

It was rare, and often Camellia found herself performing the duties as CEO of Rendili Stardrive through holo conference and the delivery and returning of stacks of files and paperwork brought to her aboard her command vessel. While about she hoped to get in quite the load of reports settled so that she didn't have to worry as much about the company being backtracked on anything for a while if she became busy in a battle. As she climbed into the shuttle with thoughts of being stuck behind a desk handling financial decisions and approvals for various project designs, the Rendili woman spared a smile to the Jedi with her as she replied. "The docks, we can chat while you see what work is being done. in fact you can probably glimpse the ships entering free berths as we approach."

They wouldn't be able to stick around on the Hammerhead they were aboard already since it would be a while before the work started as the crew would have to depart so they could take apart some of the sections. So they would be departing with the shuttle and taken to where another frigate was docked in the shipyard's maintenance berths and actually see the ongoing upgrades.

Sanya Val Lerium

Sanya Walked up the ramp into the shuttle and took the seat closest to the back. "this is the closest I've ever been to a ship dock before." she pulled her hood down due to the low light in the shuttle. "what made you take over Rendili anyway?" Sanya was aware it had been around since the old republic around the era of Revan, so it has alot of history and one of the oldest company's still going.

"keeping things original must be hard with how long it's been running." every ship back in the days of Rendili had a sort if same look especially in it's colours, and it was because of that what made them so much more expensive. your not just paying for the ship but the name that backed it up. "still you must get alot of profit non the less." as a Jedi we don't really deal with possessions like credits and ship's, but Sanya was always one to stand out while still performing her duty's almost like camellia. her company holds a high priority but while there is still a sith threat she must do what she can to ensure her home doesn't become under sith rule. to be fair it's a shame the republic doesn't really show much gratitude to what she dose for them and it's a pity really.

As the shuttle departed and brought them around to a dock where a Hammerhead Cruiser could be seen in the stages of refit, docking clamps held the frigate sized vessel in position as cranes, labor droids, and crewmen maneuvered into position over the front of the ship. Specifically they were working to remove and get into the forward weapon emplacements. As of now the Hammerheads were already armed with three dual heavy turbolaser cannons and one dual heavy ion cannon along the forward prow. However, it was the task of these refits going along for the entire Hammerhead line in service to be enhanced so that each weapon was upgraded to bear long range capabilities. While it would not make the ship too much more powerful, the additional range meant a flurry of these ships alongside a larger destroyer could pound the enemy and their small swift nature meant they could evade returning long range fire much more easily.

As for the questions the Jedi Padawan asked, Camellia couldn't wait to answer a few of them. "My grandfather was head of the board and left his shares to me. Personally I was and am serving in the defense forces so I had little intention at first of leading a company. I realized though that by leading the company I could turn those assets to benefit the defense force and keep Rendili safe. So I've driven the yards to make better warships for both the defense fleets and the Republic. Keeping things original is indeed tough, especially considering the active competition, however, plenty of designs can still be of use without being too special, so long as they do their job admirably they can fill in a place in the roster. You're right that sometimes things go awry though, which is why these refits for the Hammerheads are so vital. It will make them relevant as a ship again hopefully. You are right though, having the name does go a long way sometimes."

Sanya Val Lerium

Sanya stood up gazed out the window of the shuttle, she could see bright blue lights everywhere from where the droids and crewmen where working. there where docks both big and small to compensate for the size of the ships, that where either been built or really modeled. "wow it looks beautiful." the view was unique something that she didn't see everyday. with the Hammerhead they just left been put into clamps droids where already prepared at the side to do the work. "how many droids are there?" a few looked like old models "also do you have any of the old modles that are broke I could take a look at?" there was something about them that stood out from the others.

as the shuttle got close to the docks hanger Sanya sat back down and put her hood back up. "out of all the ship's thats been built here what would you say has been you're favorite?"

[member="Camellia Swift"]

640px-Rendili_Facility.jpg
Yes, it was beautiful. Camellia would definitely agree with the other woman's statement as they watched the ships in dock being worked on by Rendili Stardrive's engineering crews and technical teams. It seemed though that the young Jedi's attention had focused in on some of the droid models in use for some of the procedure as she asked a question. In all honesty the Rendili woman wondered for what reason the Padawan would want to tinker around with some old droids, but then everyone had a hobby or craft she supposed. "We have several thousand droids altogether at our shipyards working in conjunction with a larger number of sentient workers on many of our ships, usually those in refit or for heavy loading. We use organic staff to handle a lot of the fine tuning and other work. We understand how necessary droids are though so we're thinking of slotting out some of our older models as we expand soon to make our production more efficient. We're slowly phasing some of those out so if you want to look at lose later you may I suppose."

As the shuttle came into dock though, Camellia found herself grinning at the next question asked of her. In truth there were several. The Hammerhead class undergoing its refit for renewed service at the moment was definitely high on the Rendili woman's list, but the Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser, Valor Class Carrier, and Noblesse Class Heavy Destroyer were all series she enjoyed as well. "Its a secret. After all I can't have myself being quoted on that. Who knows how that would effect business. How about we go see how the work has progressed on the Hammerheads in service being refitted? Maybe I'll even fill you in on other projects we have in the works."

Sanya Val Lerium

Neutral, Queen of Her people, Neko
as the shuttle lauded in the hanger Sanya stood up and walked to the rear of the shuttle waiting for the ramp to lower. "I would like that" replying to camellia's offer and putting a small grin on her face "you must have alot of projects running. it must be hard to keep track of everything." even Sanya would struggle to keep track of everything. "I take it you have a select few to run the company while you're away?"

the ramp had finally touched the floor of the hanger and Sanya departed the shuttle and waited for camellia to grab her things before following her. "it must feeling good knowing everything you do here is for a good cause. I wish I could do more to help what I do now seems small compared to what your doing."

[member="Camellia Swift"]

[member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

A lot of projects was an understatement. Between the Noblesse, the Will of the Force, upgrading the Fleet, developing what little groundside equipment the company could, along with their other projects, Camellia certainly did feel swamped. Plus somehow it felt as if she had two person's worth of work on her shoulders (haha fourth wall because all I do is dev threads everywhere), but still at the very least it was a rewarding experience. To see the Noblesse among the powerhouses of the Republic Navy, to see Rendili Stardrive not only provide many designs for the Republic Fleets but also service them, and for her homeworld to prosper because of it, meant the world to the Rendili woman. "No more than there are while I do run it. I just make executive decisions when I'm around. And their effects can last for quite a while. The day to day is managed by the middle management obviously. Department heads, crew chiefs, and the like handle most of the common work anyway."

Speaking of, they were heading exactly for one of those individuals once they departed the docked shuttle. Along the way the Padawan appeared to have a rather depressing moment, and Camellia wasn't even truly certain what to say and where to begin, but she wasn't about to let the young Jedi feel bad about her efforts. "Hey now, I would have to say you do plenty enough as it is. You're a Jedi aren't you? That's a hell of a lot more than I can actually do, and that's all on your own power and efforts. Not to mention anyone out there risking their lives fighting in this war has more than done their part. And those who died have given more than the rest of us could hope to. What I'm doing is business. Its for the Republic mostly, but still if there were no credits involved the company might not be supporting them. Without business these shipyards would crumble and if it were to come to that I don't know what people would decide to do. . . . you know what though. Give me a second here and I have an idea for you ok?"

Sanya Val Lerium

Neutral, Queen of Her people, Neko
camellia was right but Sanya felt like there was always more to do, like she wasn't using her full potential. to Sanya been a Jedi wasn't enough there was always more that could be done, no it has to be done. "if I know there is more I can do to help save lives I strive to do it. I know that most think been a Jedi is alot to deal with but it seems minuet to what I could be doing. if it wasn't for your company the republic wouldn't have the top line ships to compare with the sith and we would have been under there rule so much faster. as I see it been a Jedi is not enough I need to be more and do more" Although Sanya was curious to what camellia's idea was, Sanya let out a small smile "what do you have in mind?"

"I also do apologize for what I said. I just get caught up in the idea of doing more to win this fight against the sith so other's don't have to. you know the phrase one life for a thousand. or something like that, well I'm willingly giving up mine doing everything i possible can, so that thousands of innocence can live in peace" Sanya had always pushed herself even before been a Jedi, it's what she felt like she had to do. if an obstacle was in the was she'd get around it. if anything the challenge is what made her life exciting.

[member="Camellia Swift"]

[member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

Camellia really thought that Sanya was beating herself too much over it. The Jedi faced the Sith in direct combat, they were so much more actually putting their lives on the line to stop those monsters and cut them down from the galaxy than she was sitting safely aboard top notch vessels she had the advantage of being able to have built. The Rendili woman knew how useless she was in personal combat, she didn't stand a chance fighting against a sith or even their elite infantry. She could command though, that she was proud about. However, so could the Jedi, and they could fight with powers near worth a hundred soldiers. And they risked their lives just as much if not more because the Sith hunted them down specifically within the Republic.

Taking the moment away she asked for, Camellia turned to the crew chief for this side of the docks and asked him what was the progress of the entirety of the Hammerhead Cruisers refit package. The response she would get would be that the shipyards at Rendili and Humbarine had been working near non-stop on them since Manaan and that eighty five percent of all Hammerheads in Republic service had been outfitted. She also made sure to get the status on the Republic's project to refit all their ships with inertial Compensators due to the dovin basins effects and received an even closer to completion answer. ninety eight percent. Although that project also had all of the Republic's companies working on it including Kuat and its yards everywhere and not just Rendili.

With that cleared up, Camellia would give her attention back to the Jedi Padawan. A little pleased the girl found some peace with what was going on at least. "I don't think you give yourself enough credit. You appear to care very much and work very hard. If you want my opinion you're already doing plenty, but if you feel like more I'll tell you what. The droids the company is going to phase out and scrap I'll have arranged to be donated to you. You wanted to work on them right? If you have a user for them anywhere in mind to use for the Republic go right ahead, if they're needed at the Jedi temple or can still do a job for someone else go right ahead, what do you think of that?"

maybe camellia was righ, Sanya has always pushed herself to be more and do more, and the offer camellia made to Sanya was the most generous anyone had ever been to her. "I would really appreciate that." sanyas face went from the serious look she had back to the cheerful one she had at the start of the trip. "thank you" Sanya had already thought of use for them already.

"as you can probably already tell I'm not used to the whole socializing concept." she let out a small giggle afterwards. "it makes a nice change to talk to someone where I can speak more freely and not be told off for getting to emotional" gesturing with her fingers. "don't tell them I said that." Sanya could not help but laugh at her own joke.
