Calling all Econ, Math, and Excel nerds

I’m beginning plans to begin the ambitious undertaking of some sort of actual Chaos Stock Exchange now that there is a site economy being implemented. This is sort of a passion project for worldbuilding so if you’re interested in this, have a rudimentary understanding of stocks and/or are good with excel, hit me up.

Hi, I know a little. The first step would be getting the major companies on the site to give you the thumbs up so that you can say their stock is on the market. They'll probably also need to keep track of how many shares they are offering and who is buying them as those who own significant chunks of a company's stock will be very important shareholders or will be de facto owners of the company.

That'll give you a good start.

I just realized my monkey brain read "major companies" as "major factions" so I apologize for my previous comment. Yeah I 100% agree with what you suggested. I think the first thing I need to figure out is a system that this can be operated on (most likely excel/google sheets one way or another) and the specific formulas. Once I have that down, then we move into feedback stage, gathering hype, begging for Tefbucks to help jumpstart the whole thing, etc.

I won't lie, while I am interested, I don't think I've ever used excel (on my own) and while I'm liable to look it up where it becomes relevant. I'm not sure i know much about stocks either, at least from the actual business side. Regardless if you're open Katitik Hive would definitely do stuff.

MandalArms would be interested. I invest in stocks, bonds, etc irl, but I have people that do that for me >.< I don't know excel or anything either. My laptop knowledge is severely limited.

Creating a stock market would take a lot of time and effort, if it even worked at all.

I don't think the mechanics of the marketplace are sophisticated enough for a stock market nor are owners of companies typically knowledgeable enough about the stock market to have any input.
