Cassia Edric
Witchy Wanderer
Location: The woods, Ithor
Late afternoon, a few hours prior to sunset
The woods were eerily quiet; Cassia was enjoying her hike through the wilderness of Ithor. The teen paused to pull out her datapad, she had a very mysterious map and she took a look at the coordinates marked for her. Cassia’s blue eyes looked outwards towards the horizon, she must be getting close now, and she’d been hiking for hours. Perhaps it was a bit strange to be making her way into the woods as dusk approached, but she was here for what was described as a weekend camping trip for teens. It was billed as a time to relax, socialize, and get away from the responsibilities of life. Most of her time had been spent training, learning the ways of the force and gaining the knowledge of the witches. The teen had been feeling a bit lonely lately as well, having left her siblings and friends back home on Bestine. A chance to be around others the same age would be a welcomed change.
She tied her brown hair back and stuffed the datapad back into her rucksack. Cassia loved to wander about, she was no stranger to long hikes and sleeping out under the stars. She wore a black tank top, tawny brown pants and boots that came up to the knee. Cassia had brought along her trusty leather jacket, but currently it was tied around her waist. Long hikes meant traveling light, and she carried only the essentials; flint, small hatchet, a one person tent and sleeping pad. The trees swayed lightly in the breeze, and Cassia could hear the sounds of a river up ahead. The instructions she had received stated that there would be space for two campsites, one on each side of the river. She could feel the excitement and the nerves starting to creep up on her.
A smile grew on her face as she reached the river; a log had conveniently fallen across the width of the river, making for a decent bridge. She hopped deftly up onto the log and walked her way to the other side, there was a fire pit, but that was all that would identify this area as a campsite. With a shrug she set down her bag and started to pitch her tent, she figured that she may as well claim this area for the girls. With her tent complete she tossed her bag inside and looked around, the area really was quite lovely. She knew that darkness would be falling upon the camp in a few hours, and she hoped that the other campers would arrive soon… she didn’t want to be stuck out here alone. The growing dusk meant that it was also growing colder, the breeze now carried a bit of a bite as it went past.
Cassia gathered up some sticks and dropped them into the fire pit. It did seem a bit odd that she was out in the middle of nowhere, but someone had taken the time to set up a small sitting area around the pit. There wasn’t time to think about such things now; she needed to start making a fire. The sound of a branch snapping behind her made the teen jump, and she spun around… perhaps someone was nearby.
