Can't Finish Anything

In the depths of space where no one can hear you scream, Eryi attended her position of cutting and preparing Wookie meat to be sold. The ship was docked in a larger Sith vessel, offering the day's produce. Carving up the pieces and separating them into piles, the three main groups being muscle, fat and tenderloin. The process was very bloody and ruined clothing on a daily basis, though, Eryi wouldn't have it any other way. After gathering enough tenderloin she scooped it into container, carrying it to the front of the shop to be placed on the bench. Blood dripped from the end of Eryi's sleeves where it had gathered during the process. She sat down from exhaustion, cracking open a bottle of blue sparkling water.

The benches had been cleaned recently, Eryi still made the area she sat bloody by placing both hands down while enjoying her drink.

Wookie meat.

Mogeko’s Taboo Delicacy Delivery Service, or otherwise known as “The Wookie Slaughterhouse”, was a highly recommended space-restaurant popular amongst those who fancied exotic meat. Sitara had heard about this place from a friend, and though she wasn’t really a big fan of eating ‘sentient’ creatures, she figured that since they were covered in fur and were probably carnivores, it wouldn’t hurt to try the place out.

Her steak was brought to her and she wrinkled her nose. She grabbed her fork and knife, carving a square piece of meat from the bloody steak. She took a bite and was surprisingly delighted.

This was pretty good.

Compliments to the chef.

Eryi took notice of a particular customer, she kept an eye on the woman for a few moments, luckily she'd ordered a good dish. People did not often give compliments, to her surprise the woman noted her enjoyment of the meat. Trying to brush it off, Eryi flicked her hair and rolled her eyes to the side with a big grin. "Well it wasn't a big deal, y'know.. Takes some effort. Heh..." She suddenly realized that the woman probably didn't know who she was, rising to her feet and pointing a finger. "I made that food! So you'd better enjoy it." Eryi glared momentarily before sitting back down, brushing off her skirt to make it more dramatic.

She slugged down some more sparkling water, releasing a satisfied sigh after.

From where she sat, Sitara felt an impending shadow of darkness looming over her. Her head tilted, her blue-grey eyes meeting a blonde’s catlike red ones that seemed to glare into her soul. Sitara raised an eyebrow as her gaze shifted to the woman’s finger, which was pointing at her direction. Sitara tilted her head at the tiny, cat-like girl, who then pointed out that she was the chef of the restaurant. Sitara swallowed the tender piece of meet in her mouth and smiled.

Oh don’t worry,” She said, holding the shorter woman’s gaze. “I will.

She grinned, cutting up another square of meet and plopping it into her mouth. She chomped on it, chewing large hefty bites before swallowing. “Deeeelicious.

An awkward feeling of tension overcame Eryi as her customer enjoyed the meal.. She attempted to pull her gaze away as the woman praised it, unable to do so before the final blow, Deeeelicious.

Eryi felt like she'd been hit by a blaster, her heart raced as she choked on her water. "W-well I'm glad you like it.. There's always more, i-if you can afford it." She stood up and carried the tenderloin container to a nearby fridge, pushing it into the far back with both arms. The fridge was located close to the customers, where meat would be extracted and prepared for customers to observe, assuming they cared enough to do so.

Attempting to remove thoughts the way her customer was acting, Eryi struggled to keep her mind on the task at hand. She approached a sink full of dirty dishes and began scrubbing them. "I.. Haven't seen you before, and nobody acts like that... Why are you here?"

The woman almost choked on her water after Sitara complimented her food. Sitara blinked twice as the woman began to speak, her voice trembling with some sort of anxiety. Sitara followed the girl with her eyes, watching her as she walked into the fridge, stuffing the meat into the freezer. “Let me finish my meal first, and then we’ll see.” She called out to the girl.

She took another bite, watching as the blonde began to scrub the dishes. She never noticed how compact this place was. Then again, its owner was tiny. Sitara snapped back into reality once she realized that the girl was talking to her again. She tilted her head, confused as to what the girl meant. Could it be that nobody has complimented her food before?

I like to dabble into new experiences.” She replied with a soft smile. “And this has certainly been an interesting dining experience. Of course, that’s all thanks to you.

Eryi could feel the woman's gaze, it.. strangely felt comfortable. New experiences, something most people with money craved, this woman could be someone influential. The praise for a new experience and appreciation of her talents, a feeling overtook Eryi that she hadn't felt for the longest time. "I.. I'll give you a free dish, if you want.." Washing her hands, she quickly dried them on a towel before preparing two more dishes personally. "If you are willing to talk to me some more, that is." Eryi smirked, wishing to bargain for more of the woman's time. She tore off the end of her sleeves, removing the bloody material to safely prepare food.

Sitara was used to being given material items in exchange for her company or time. Such items often took the form of expensive drinks, clothes, and even places to stay. Never before had she been offered free wookie meat, though she was happy to accept either way. She grinned, nodding as the woman tore off her bloodied sleeves. With the price she was charging for exotic meat, she probably didn’t need to worry about spending a few credits for clothes.

I suppose that sounds fair.” Sitara said, taking a sip of water. “Why don’t you come sit in front of me?"

Eryi laid two plates down on the bench as well as an array of utensils and cutting boards, ripping a knife from the block nearby. She quickly began dicing it before throwing it into a bowl of crumbs, mixing the meat as to be covered in them. After a minute of bonding the crumbs to the meat she tipped them onto a pile of flour, repeating the process of mixing the meat now covered in crumbs to prevent it from getting sticky. Eryi then shifted the meat into a frying pan with a dab of oil to heat it up slowly, leaving her station to sit across from the woman as she requested, allowing the meat to cook meanwhile. Pleased with her efforts, she smirked and remarked "What do you think about that, I set the record for preparing Wookie meat... Guess I'm the only contender though, my competition always seems to mysteriously vanish.. Heh."

Eryi realized she was bragging shortly after finishing her sentence, as her face turned blank. "Uh.. So, please tell me more about yourself..?"

[member="Sitara Qin"]

Sitara watched as the girl expertly prepared the exotic meat. She sat, impressed with the woman. She gave her a quick applause. “I imagine you wouldn’t have that much competition anyways.” She said, resting her head between her hands. “I…hope your competition doesn’t get turned into wookie dishes.” She winked. The girl then asked her to tell her more about herself.

Sitara tapped her chin with her finger, realizing that she never introduced herself. “Well, for starters, my name’s Tara.” She said, beaming. “What’s yours?

Eryi drank from another bottle of sparkling water as she listened, "Well it's true, there aren't many in the business.. But I'd never compromise the integrity of the Wookie meat by mixing it with filth.. Enemies are only worthy of screaming before the end, you know?" The woman's wink stuttered Eryi, who grimaced and turned away. "The feeling I get when she says or does things.. What even is this..." She thought to herself, catching the woman's name as she snapped out of her thoughts, and the request for her own.

"Oh.. I am called Eryi by most people, you can call me whatever you like though, I have no attachment to it." "I offered for a complete stranger to call me whatever she likes, what am I doing?" Eryi sighed, the familiar feeling was still, unbeknownst to her, one that she craved. "I'll finish preparing the meals.. Do you have a particular drink you'd like, our range is fairly limited, but we have thirty flavors of Sparkling Water." Eryi stood and gradually walked back to her station, grabbing the frying pan and shaking it to displace the meat, allowing it to cook evenly.

Sitara could tell that the girl took her wookie business fairly seriously. In fact, her values were respectable and Sitara almost wondered what else the woman would be good for. Perhaps if she lead her down a deeper path, her talents would be put to better use. Besides, she could always lead the girl to kashyyyk where they could kidnap a couple of furry pets. “I see what you mean. We could use somebody with your set of skills in my little organization.” She grinned.

Eryi. That’s an adorably unique name.” And it was. Sitara didn’t know anybody in the galaxy with the woman’s name. “I think I’ll stick to that.” Sitara declared leaning back into her seat. “Do you have anything alcoholic?” She asked Eryi, who was on her way to the station. “If not…cherry is fine."

Turning up the dial on her stove, Eryi intently listened for the crackling of fully cooked meat. "My set of skills, you got a lot of use for people who can cook Wookies?" She smirked, the thought of experimenting with other species for the culinary arts briefly caused her eyes to flash red. The thought excited her, although briefly, she quickly calmed her nerves before losing control. She appreciated the woman's opinion on her name, it wasn't one that she felt particularly happy with, although it was given to her by the closest thing she'd ever had to parents.. Suddenly the idea of parents triggered her memory, "I understand now, this woman reminds me of that foster carer I was assigned... I see..." Eryi suddenly felt at ease with her thoughts, understanding what Tara's attitude reminded her of.

She snapped to attention once more, "I have Baileys, I don't care for alcohol, but this stuff tastes good and has a pretty high alcohol percentage." Eryi reached into a counter fridge to pull out the bottle, she grabbed two glasses at the same time and filled them to the brim. Immediately after she removed the frying pan from the stove, turning it off and scooping the finished product onto two plates, she didn't forget to assign forks. With a swift motion of both hands Eryi placed everything onto a tray and carried it to the table, moving the plates and glasses onto the surface.

"Your meal, it consists of diced Wookie tenderloin, crumbed and cooked to perfection.." Eryi smiled, genuinely for a change, taking her seat opposite Tara.

Sure. Why not?” Sitara shrugged as the women prepared the meat. She stared down at her almost-finished plate, before stabbing her fork into the final square of meet. She plopped it into her mouth, letting her teeth dig into the juicy piece of wookie before swallowing. She took a sip of her water, as Eryi offered her Baileys. Surprisingly, that was something Sitara had yet to try.

Hit me up.” She said, watching as Eryi reached into the counter to pull out a bottle. For someone who could smuggle wookies and turn them to steak, Eryi was surprisingly tiny. She probably was a lot…stronger and sneakier than Sitara had thought, and that was exactly why they needed her for the Sith Assassins. Besides, the meals in that place started to taste incredibly dull. This stuff though was really good.

She could smell the tender meat as Eryi delivered it to her table. Eagerly, Sitara took hold of her utensils and started to slice into the dark meat. She blew on her fork softly, trying to speed up the cooling process before plopping it into her mouth. She took a swig of Baileys, a milkyish drink she’d never tasted before. “Mmmmmmmm.” Sitara moaned as she swallowed.

Yup, we definitely need you in the Assassins.

The satisfaction Tara had while eating the Wookie was quite attractive, from the cook's standpoint. Eryi herself began forking the morsels into her mouth, chewing it slowly to appreciate the texture. Clearly something had been on Tara's mind, although something was also on Eryi's, she didn't assume to understand what was going on in her customer's head. The reveal happened quite suddenly though, Yup, we definitely need you in the Assassins.” The girl stopped chewing and immediately swallowed her mouthful with a swig of Baileys. "Mmnnmm.. Assassins, huh?" Eryi thought for a moment, picking up a serviette to pat her mouth clean. "She could be here to kidnap me, but.. I feel so comfortable in her presence..." Eryi dropped the serviette she was using onto the plate and scratched her chin.

"So you want me to join this.. Organization? I take it." Eryi asked, drinking from her cup once more. She was clearly thinking, the idea of committing violence for the sake of work definitely wasn't new to the girl. She'd never been required to kill people quickly though, the idea of not savoring time with her victims was a turn off. Although she hadn't been asked to assassinate anybody, Tara only knew she was a cook, or so Eryi assumed. "So I'd be cooking for a group of assassins, I'd be compensated for the products I experiment with in the pursuit of culinary perfection?" She proposed, considering the advantages such employment could have and the species she'd get to.. Experiment with.

Tara mimicked Eryi by taking a swig of her own drink. She fiddled with the food at her plate, wondering how much wookie meat the girl actually harvested each year. Perhaps she had a wookie farm somewhere on a hidden planet. That would have been a cool sight to see. “Only if you want to.” She smiled.

That would be your primary role.” Sitara told her, as she took another forkful of meet and scooped it into her mouth. She took another sip of the milk-like alcohol before speaking. “Obviously wookie meat is a rarity in this galaxy.” Ever since wookies were given their sentient-rights, Sitara felt like they were liberated when they probably should learn their place. They were all technically slaves, like plenty of other aliens in the galaxy. And just cause they could walk on two feet didn’t make them much different from other animals.

How you acquire it, I’m curious to know.” There was a hint of an evil glimmer shining in her eyes as she said it. “You’re good with a knife, I bet with proper training, you’ll probably be able to work those cuts on people.” She grinned, stabbing her knife into the tenderloin. “Of course, you’ll be compensated with credits and anything you can get your hands on.

Being given a choice by an assassin, to join them or refuse, Eryi wondered if she really was being a decision or not. The idea of working with them interested her more than refusing the offer, merely because of the curiosity she had for Tara. There were many instances where cooks assassinated targets through the food they served, sneaking in undetected or by virtue of reputation to kill people, she considered these possibilities for assassinations. Although it would be no fun if she didn't watch the victim's agony as their stomach ruptured, she could always find a way to rig cameras.. Tara questioned the Wookie meat's rarity, throwing Eryi's thoughts off track and bringing her back to reality.

The tone of her voice shifted into a deeper, harsher pitch, Eryi decided to show her serious side to finish the negotiations. "The way I acquire my Wookies.. Well it's mostly hands on, although let's just say I have a lot of.. Stock. You might have heard of some experiments the One Sith were acting out, I was somewhat connected to them, they acquire Wookies on a daily basis and use them for training.. I just pick up the pieces." Eryi drank again, she kept eye contact with Tara and smiled. Knife skills were the least of Eryi's concerns, she already spent the past six years honing them, what truly needed work was her form with a lightsaber.

"I have in the past year acquired a weapon from someone that wasn't.. Willing to part with it, nor his hand.. If you can teach me to wield it and bring me different species to tor-.. Experiment with cooking, I'll come with you right now."

[[member="Sitara Qin"]]

As Eryi vaguely explained how she acquired her wookie meat, a chill ran down Sitara’s spine. “Please don’t me the meat’s double dead.” Sitara said, raising an eyebrow. Double-dead meat was common in…more desperate planets and locations, often selling meats that died of natural causes or diseases. She didn’t really want to eat something contaminated, though she trusted Eryi enough to know whether her stock was good. Besides, if a lightsaber cut into it, it probably would’ve already fried.

A weapon?” Sitara asked, tilting her head. She stared at Eryi, trying to puzzle the thoughts in her head. Either it was a lightsaber from an unwilling force user, or something even rarer. Sitara was intrigued to find out, though she wasn’t too skilled with other weapons but her saber. It was custom built by her after all, the crystals chosen to suit her rather electric personality.

I could definitely teach you how to wield a weapon if it falls into my line of expertise.” She grinned, staring at the girl with dark eyes. Suddenly, Eryi would be able to hear Sitara’s sweet voice probe the corner’s of her thoughts; like a feather smoothly floating into an open window. ‘That is, if you mean a lightsaber.

| [member="Eryi Mogeko"] |

"Double dead... No, the Wookies are rarely killed in the training pits, they just run out of stamina.. They don't die for a good number of weeks after I get them, I'm very careful about what I take." Eryi smirked, it was easy to cut away the meat you needed over a period of time, keeping the victim alive until they'd run out of safe areas to harvest. The thought of her most recent victim tied down in the cold room send a pleasant shiver up her spine. "A weapon, yes.." Eryi felt the woman might know something of the lightsaber's use, the aura about her, it was almost like a long lost relative.

As Tara spoke to Eryi's head she understood her assumption to be true, "That is indeed what I mean.. Although I've no talent for the force, the weapon has intrigued me ever since the light in that Jedi's eyes faded.. The look on his face when I took it, it almost matched the reaction he gave when I pulled off his finger nails." Eryi lifted the side of her skirt to remove the lightsaber from its holster, placing it on the table in front of Tara. Eryi's voice sweetened, once more sounding like an innocent eighteen year old. "I like you, so I think I'll serve you either way, but your assassin friends only have my loyalty as long as I'm happy. Can we agree on these terms?"

[[member="Sitara Qin"]]

So Eryi kept the wookies for a while before turning them into food? Sitara was most definitely intrigued. She leaned closer towards the blonde as she spoke. She wanted to pry the details from the shorter girl’s brain, but knew that actions like that were usually uncalled for. In time, Eryi would learn to reveal herself. For now, Sitara laid low with the mind tricks.

You are delightful.” She declared, as Eryi spoke about killing a Jedi. Sitara clapped her hands together, giving Eryi a short round of applause. She wasn’t force sensitive, though somehow managed to kill one of those Jedi pests. Perhaps she could’ve fed his remains to the wookie, maybe that would make the meat taste better. “I like you already.” She said, as Eryi showed her the lightsaber. It was nothing as pretty as her’s, but she could probably show Eryi how to use it.

Don’t worry about them too much, I’m probably the most pleasant one there.” She winked. “Though I’m pretty sure you’ll fit right in. You have quite the character.
