Capital City at its core is a concrete jungle that slowly extends out into an urban sprawl, consuming a total of 12,367 square kilometres. By galactic standards Capital City is a small city. At the center of the city is located the Jedi Monument, serving as a reminder to the Jedi past and present who have sacrificed their lives for galactic peace
Parks and statues dot the landscape, with under-construction cloudcutters dominating the skies. Due to a reduced population and the size of the city, foot and speeder traffic is low. Leaving the inner city suffocated by skyscrapers, citizens of Capital City are welcomed by a plethora of newly opened hospitality and retail businesses, looking to rebuild the economy. Hospitals have begun to sprout in each corner of the city.
Hidden in the cracks of the city slums have begun to grow, and with it the dark underworld. With the chaos of a fractured world, criminal activities have risen drastically. Looting and murder have become common place in the outer city limits, with a volunteer militia called the New Holstice Defense Force patrolling the inflicted areas in heavy numbers.
History:
Capital City was constructed around the ruins of the Jedi Monument on New Holstice. With the sacking of New Holstice by the Primeval, and the subsequent abandonment by the Galactic Republic, the government collapsed and entire cities were razed to the ground. Few cities were spared from the destruction by the Primeval. Malcolm Manx, a neurosurgeon, gathered a team of intellectuals that worked to rebuild from the ruins of their homeworld.
Utilizing outside hired hands from the Duros and the Fosh homeworlds, Capital City was erected with the Jedi Monument serving as the direct center of the city. New Holstice continues to build itself up, aiming to restore the former cities of the planet one city at a time. The new Immigration Department of the Commonwealth work tirelessly to influence outsiders to live on New Holstice hoping to reel in a strong economy with the tease of thousands of labor jobs available. Capital City slowly grows with every new citizen.
Intent: To provide a capital to New Holstice, and to ground some lore for the planet after the sacking of it at the hands of the Primeval.
