+ Hardy: Tethus, as with his three gentically enhanced warriors were literally designed to take punishment that would mulch a regular human or unaltered alien subject.
+ Small Unit Tactics: A Sergeant in the Renegades, a group of three Marines who were left behind during the great exodus and unknowingly declared Traitor. Tethus is a master in small unit tactics at a squad level, with each of the three Marines balancing each-other's weaknesses out.
- Alone: Compared to the great Marine legions headed by the Autocrat of Cathay, Tethus and his two other compatriots are considered to be the only Gene-Warriors left in the Galaxy following the Great Exodus of the Catharian People. This means, he cannot replace dead marines readily without assistance.
- Goal in Mind: Tethus's only goal in the Galaxy is amass enough funds to purchase their own inter-galactic colony ship to escape the Galaxy forever. This means he has little time for Politics and Intrigue and only cares for money. Morality, and ethics are considered of little importance to the Renegades.
APPEARANCE:
Tethus is a former Shock Marine, as such he wears the standardized panoply of a Catharian Shock Marine. Thick Ceremite plates suspended over a Songsteel Frame. Power armor in its literal form. The Armor is painted in a Dark Red with black edging, indicative of the 'Sons of Xzeench' Battlegroup of Marines. However, in place of the standardized Sons of Xzeench emblem, it has been replaced with the Catharian Eagle, clutching a ship in its talons. As with his squad members, Tethus has made many impromptu repairs with far less sophisticated materials, such as Durasteel, and as such bears some resemblance to Agents of Chaos Traitors.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born some 36 years prior to the current calendar, Tethus was born on the once rich and lavish world known as Cathay, located in the Unknown regions on the fringes of Chiss Space. Analyzed, and then taken from his parents at birth by the Catharian Guard as a compatible candidate for the latest Shock Marine project headed by the Catharian Gene Wrights. There, inside of the institute Tethus was drilled relentlessly and gradually augmented with bio-engineered organs, alongside complete cybernetic alterations to his brain and limb workings. As with all Shock Marines at the time, Tethus joined the departing legions during the Chiss Campaign, and fought alongside his Brothers for a year and very nearly cracking Avidich open with orbital bombardment. However, all of this glory wouldn't last as a an order was given out by Catharian High Command. Known as Order #23, it was the initiative to recall back to Cathay and pack her populations up into massive colony ships to send them out into the Galactic Void, never to return again. However, on the trip back Tethus's Chapter ship was ambushed by Directorate forces and nearly destroyed over the world of Florrum. Fifteen escape pods sounded that day, but only one would make it to the surface unharmed. Crash landing on Florrum, home of the legendary pirate Hondo Ohnaka. Tethus, and two of his Squad Members of the 2nd Company survived. They gathered their equipment and sought to return to Cathay again, scuttling their escape pod in the process to prevent the advanced Catharian tech from falling into enemy hands.
Soon, the trio traipsed across the surface of Florrum, blasting apart any hostile animal that dare come within range of their slug-weapons. Here, they survived for four months in the dunes of Florrum. Finding meagre joy in the slaughter of horrendous animals that sought to make the trio their meal. However, one fateful day the Trio would come across Port Ohnaka, a pirate stronghold supposedly built over the site of Hondo's hideout. The Trio entered, not to make peace but to slaughter every last one of the pirates there. And they did, killing hundreds of Weequay pirates without a single casualty. Choosing this to be the best choice, Tethus instated himself as incumbent Sergeant of the Trio of Renegades. They stole the largest ship available, a Corona armed frigate and escaped off-world with it. Making a straight B-Line for Cathay. Arriving months late, they discovered to their horror a overgrown soup of a city. The formal Throne-world of Cathay overrun with vegetation and all inhabitants lost. This forever would burn a painful reminder in Tethus's mind, his failure to join the escape. And he would suffer for it. With he and his duo of supporting Marines, Tethus scavenged what he can from the ruins and escaped again with his Corona Class Frigate. They docked with the massive space-station built over Cathay by its precursor inhabitants tens of millions of years ago, disabling its hyperspace beacon and then leaving system forever. The trio ended up taking a few odd-jobs, mainly created for mere mercenaries such as protection, and defense. But, one fateful day, a planetary governor offered them a job they couldn't refuse. Prevent unrest on a planet located somewhere in the mid rim. It was no easy job, but it would assuredly be a quiet one...
