The Castellax Class Security Droid is the brain child of Rycherd Alistair, the leader and founder of the Castellax Foundation. After returning to his private estates to find them under assault by rioters. It took five days for the local police and security forces to put down the riots, in which time Rycherd decided he could do better. By the time the last of the rioters on Empress Teta were dealt with, the rough draft of the Castellax Class Security Droid was underway.
The first hundred models were sold directly to the Empress Teta Police Forces, proving effective at dealing with crime and heavy resistance. The following month, two thousand units were pre-purchased by police forces across the planet. The optical sensors of all newer models were enhanced, at the expense of most of their standard sensors. Along with their focus on mobility over heavy armor, the new models became effective at operating in urban environments.
At this point in their development, The Castellax Class Security Droid began to become sold not just to planetary police forces, but private contractors wishing for enhanced defense forces at their private estates.
