Catch a Breath

There was more coming to it, more work, more implants and transplants that they were wanting to work on the bigger things. Cathbodua was standing there as the display of the lung tissue was being shown. They were showing it and it was being worked on much like with the heart tissue to be stronger and more sturdy. They needed to work on it to provide more oxygen to the body to deal with the increased performance that would be able to come from it. With the growth supplements from the pellets, to the bacta processing implants that would supply healing stim to the body so that it would continue to function, the other implants that they were working on and the pills to allow the body to handle the grafting process would serve well enough. They had work to do on all of it now.

She was looking at it and working with Lisa as well as the other jedi researchers who were helping them with this process, upgrading the lungs so that they could take in more air, hold it longer, handle smoke inhalation and toxins in the air that could damage the lungs or be a problems. Aside from the bafforr trees pollen that is which would cause the lungs to expand and then tighten to construct and slowly suffocate you. Cathbodua turned over with some of the things she was doing while they prepared before moving with a lot of the bigger things. The display of the projected ideas of what they were planning to do with the biot organ but it was not exactly that helpful since it was a simulation and not the real things.

"Continue the tests, I want simulations from the AI about what we could project and show the rest for the strain on the body so that we will be able to work with it." She stayed with a couple of the things before she was heading over with a couple of the bigger things so they could work on it and Lisa joined her along with one of the transplant surgeons in Sakura who was working with them on many of the organ designs so show where they needed to work with. "Well you have been working towards something bigger and more impressive thanks to the new direction and new work you have been pushing for when it comes to funding as well as the research into new biots that we will be able to use."

The AI was running the simulations they needed to run on the lungs projections and they should be ale to increase how much their processed. Intaking air and holding it while they expanded with small sacs to retain the air and allow a jedi or regular being to hold their own breath for longer then they normally could or would be able to. In some cases she knew that humans with training and practice could hold their breath for several minutes at the best and this should let them hold it for at least double if not triple their own capabilities. If all went well it wouldn't be a significant amount but it could come in handy for problems where you needed to be able to hold your breath. Processing the air for the body was also a big things.

She was looking over more of the lungs as they had one of the chambers filled with it a set of the lungs so they would be able to take a small chunk and look at it under the microscope for what it might have. The process of getting the enzyme they needed to work on more of the things with a nod of her head. "We'll be able to hopefully work on it here. Check it under the screens so we can work on some of the things while it is still in development." She wanted to work with mor eof the things while she was walking around the lab going over the different chambers they had developing the lungs as well as some of the other organs. Simple enhancements of the organs was easy enough to do and it would all tie together.

She was going over the rest of it, more scans, more details when Lisa arrived with the other doctors as they started to explain it. "Well how it is looking from your scans?" She had a small look on her face but waited to hear the woman out. "Right so we have been starting to observe and work with it. The tissue of the lungs have been improved to make them tougher, the blood that pumps into them will be using the new blood enhancements that were retrieved fromthe czar facilities along with some new ideas from the researchers that we have been working on. The tissue is able to inflat more allowing larger supplies of air to enter the lungs by the biot developing in the alveoli to allow more air to small blood vessels."

"We have also been working on protecting the lungs themselves from being damaged, the csilla can be strengthened in the development and the different parts as we have worked on them provided new work for everything we wanted to learn. Improving upon the bloods ability to be given oxygen from the lungs is being worked on as is the muscle itself. Its ability to expand and produce small sacks that will allow more air to be held before expelling should aid with retention while providing more for each cell. it might increase the need to breath or take in larger lungfuls of oxygen but it is a decent trade off for working to function with the new and improved biots for the body."

"We have also been working on what it won't be able to do, despite our initial hopes for a higher lung capacity and ability to intake a volume few others could match. We won't be able to get the lungs to filter and expel toxins or even just straight up resist them. The membranes that produce the mucous for the csilla will be unable to fully handle the strain of them as well as the resistance to Bafforr pollen. Inhalation of them in the lungs would be extremely dangerous causing the lungs to first expand in the chest but they would be unable to properly expel or take in new air suffocating you where you are." The doctor seemed to be going over it with them showing the simulation where it was working and it was fatal.

That would prove to be a far more dangerous prospect if they were workign with things, if the lungs or any of the biots could be targeted with a bioweapon it could harm a lot of people... that would just mean they needed to be able to do the hard work with it and preform the duties better to handle the increased strain that they woul be under from the looks and sound of it. "So we have all of this and we should be able to better preform and enhance the other organs. With the success of the heart we are in need doctor, we can handle the funding that will not be an issue thanks to the contracts and deals that have been made but we still need to be able to supply these to the patients."

Cathbodua was going over the simulation as she worked with it wanting to touch upon a few of the things they had designed. Interest with everything else they were doing wen she signed off on it and the project. Improving the lung capabilities of soldiers or getting it for transplants with the patients they had. The lungs could hopefully become something more universal that they would be able to give. "Ensure that everything is done and handled, then we will start working on new ways to create them in the labs now that the chambers have been able to get a production line. With the right combination of implants or the right combination of procedures and meds these new biots could solve a lot of problems for a lot of people in the galaxy where traditional implants can't make the grade." They might not be able to make the full thing but here at least they had jumped up with the information for the biots and how to develop them.
