Cats and dogs

Mrrew sat behind his little desk on the massive Okyaab freighter that served as the Guild's mobile headquarters, reading a little holobook titled 'Monsters of the Galaxy'. A meeting with [member="Zarro Verres"], the CEO of a beast trading company, and a part-time hunter for the guild, had been arranged. He wasn't compeltely sure why, but if it could help expand the Guild, he was interested. So the Togorian waited, reading an in depth description of Gundarks and their nesting habits.

Meanwhile, a droid waited in front of the little airlock where Zarro would be arriving, waiting patiently for his owner's guest to arrive with a tray full of various goodies. The airlock was readied for Zarro's boarding corridor, ready to allow the Amaran ontot he ship. And the silver-plated protocol droid was waiting to lead him to Mrrew

(I got out of some of the htings I had to do today, so i'll be able to do the thread. :) )

Zarro smiled as the airlock of his ship opened, allowing him to enter a the corridor which lead to yet another marketing venture. Working with @Mreww, though sparingly had still been a good experience. Sure it was competition, but sometimes your competition showed you partners you didn't even know were there, such as the man that had recently ordered Rhak Skuri samples, a creature that Zarro actually had possession of. As the second airlock door entered, he nodded politely to Mrrew and stepped forward, his cane tapping against the ground. "Salutations." He had of course taken notice of the protocal droid, but he doubted such would be necessary. A leading trader of Amar, he found polylinquistics to be rather useful.

Mrrew slid the little book he was reading away in one oft eh large pockets of his gunbelt, and smiled at [member="Zarro Verres"]. "Welcome to the Guild Headquarters, Zarro." The Togorian lifted a huge clawed hand, in order to shake the Amaran's, while the protocol droid stepped forwards.

"Refreshments?"

Zarro nodded and politely accepted the drinks. "A pleasure to be here. So, I assume you have some fort of idea as to why I contacted you." He lifted his cane and used the hook of it to pull himself a chair before sitting down. "In short, I wish to find some way in which we can aid each other in our marketing ventures."

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew nodded, respecting how quickly he got to the point, and took a seat in the large chair behind his desk. If something came out of this meeting, it could be benneificial for both of them; for both companies. Mrrew knew little of Verres Trading, but he knew it was large enough to pose some competition. Hence why this meeting could either be very good, or very bad. Mrrew was hoping for the former.

"What do you have in mind?"

[member="Zarro Verres"]

Zarro's tail flicked and he took a sip of the drink. "There are several ways to do this. One of them is a share of information, for instance I can easily lead you to an ashlan community, provided of course, wit the knowledge that such a sentient species wouldn't come to any harm. I will not have such a thing happening to them." As he spoke, his reasons would become rather clear as a green wolf removed itself form under his hat to sit net to his paw. "There is also the mutual investments. Beast trading is our main production but not our only production. Also, I should think that I would call on your services to restock our markets when supplies get low."

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew glanced at the green wolf, before looking back up to [member="Zarro Verres"]. He had interesting ideas, at least. "Honestly, I'm not sure what help it would be for the Guild to track Ashlan Wolves... we don't deal in sentient creatures." He gave a quick nod to the green wolf, before continuing. "Though, I am interested in investments. I help you, The Guild gets part of the profits. You help us, Verres Trading get's a part of the Guild's profits, correct?" If he was understanding the Amaran's offer correctly- he wasn't quite sure- then the two companies would be investing in eachother, benefiting both companies. Mrrew smiled.

Zarro nodded and moved his hand to pet Credit, the wolf. "That's the idea. I would also be able to fund and lend equipment. While you are quite capable and have proven yourselves to be stars of the industry, you are still young and I doubt you've all the supplies you could wish for." He set his glass aside and flicked his tail. "As for the matter of Ashlan wolves, though sentient they do wish to be discovered by selected people, those who would not damage the community. However, now that I think about ti, such a screening practice would be impractical. Can you perhaps think of any other ways an alliance of corporations might serve us?"

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew smiled, and gave a short nod. The Guild was young, but it had made great progress since it had been founded. And it would make great progress yet. Nontheless.... "What form of equipment can you provide?" Other ways an alliance could help. Hmm. "Honestly, two very similer companies do more harm to eachother then good, int he form of competition- unless, of course, our comp[anies were to work together completely, more then just shares of eachother. Unless you have a better suggestion?" The Togorian watched [member="Zarro Verres"]'s expression carefully. His response to this question could be very important to both companies. He wasn't sure exactly how they would work together closer... He doubted the Amaran would agree to a merger of any kind. However, anything could happen. And if he did agree to something like that... they could flourish, with no real competition in the field. Mrrew took a sip of his glass of water.

Zarro's tail flicked at the suggestion. Verres Trading had a proud name on Amar but there were still things he could do. Still things to improve and innovation was often the best way to prosperity. "Hunting equipment, men like myself and my crew for actual hunting, and of course, quick profits as I have a fondness for creating animal products. Rhak Skuri Concentrate being my major break through so far. But in terms of your proposition, it does have merit, and I can see a way for it to work. While you specialize in capturing, I simply specialize in the actual trading. I've also been trying to broaden my horizons to whatever we can get our hands on, but more importantly, animal based products. Perhaps any excess captures could be sent to us where we would try to find things to be done with them. As humanely as possible of course."

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew smiled. They already had all the hunting equipment needed, but Hunters to use the equipment would be useful. The hutners the guild hired had been... absent... lately. The Togorian's eyebrows raised as [member="Zarro Verres"] actually considered his proposal of a merge. He had never thought the Amaran woudl beinterested... This could be fantastic for the guild. And, of course, for Verres Trading. The Togorian smiled broadly.

"That would be perfect. You could be supplied with whatever beasts you needed for, err, products... Crystal snakes, you oculd milk the venom- collect the hides of Terentatek, the scales of Fireworms. Meanwhile,t he Guild does the actual hunting. Both of us could profit from it, and it would limit competition for the both of us. You wouldn't have to worry about the Gulid taking your customers, and we wouldn't have to worry about Verres Trading doing the same thing. We'll have cornered the market."

If Zarro actually agreed to this... well, that could be fantastic. Not only would they expand into selling products such as various venoms and hides, but the Guild would also gain more hunters, more expirience, and less competition. There was no negatives.

Zarro flicked his tail with a smile. "Not to mention, we Amarans are famed beast tamers. In case your clients wish for an animal that won't maul their faces off, or any other parts of their body. So, it seems we've settled our ideas into one proposal. Is there anything more that you can think of, or shall we make this final?"

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew nodded with another fang-filled smile. He knew of the Amaran's fame in beast training. In fact, the one he'd put in charge of his beast training complex on Alaris Prime was an Amaran. Prehaps he'd send [member="Zarro Verres"] that way if they ever had to train something paticularly... dangerous. "I believe that's everything..." Mrrew stood, ecstatic at the sucess of his merger proposal, and raised a massive clawed hand for another handshake. "A pleasure doing buisness with you, Zarro."

Zarro stood and shook the togorian's hand, his tail flicking contently behind him. "And I, you." He held out his hand and called his cane into his hand. If all went as he planned, this would be a great way to expand his company. Now, all he had to do was wait and see where it brought him. Taking his glass from earlier, he lifted it in thanks and drained the rest of the liquid. Placing it with the droid, he then turned and walked back to his ship. No doubt Serra had another thing for him to do. Busy as she was and thankful as he could be, that assistant did know how to keep an old dog running.
