Private Caught You

Balmorra

Aradia dallied in the market. She didn't need anything but time. Visiting home was always a bit... hard to swallow. It probably wasn't fair to her family that she behaved this way, they hadn't done anything to deserve it, but like always Aradia lingered just at the edge of everything-- home but not quite. The meditation village was warm and lively. She told herself that she would stay until she found a gift to hand over at the door.

They weren't expecting her. She wasn't sure how to explain why she wasn't here.

I just wanted to be? She'd sound stupid.

Aradia mulled between the stalls of crochet hand bags and poked her fingers through the small holes.

Xarielle relaxed as she walked through the market, her mothers were somewhere nearby as were other relatives. The cool breeze swept through the market with ease and playfully cut through her blouse and shorts. Honey and yogurt topped with walnuts would be the start to her day, not too far from her, she knew her twin Xariah Pavanos Xariah Pavanos was doing her best. Balmorra was such a far cry from the way the galaxy had gone, the way the Jedi and the Sith went after each other. And with how the war between the NIO and GA continue to play out, but here? Balmorra was such a world away from it all, literally.
Hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, she handed a cup of pistachio, yogurt with the honey mix to her younger brother Gideon. Gideon tucked his book under his arm. "So good," Gideon began as he dug his spoon into the cup, "fresh, and just divine. I don't know if I'll survive without it." He continued on as Xarielle listened to her brother. He rambled and rambled on and on until it stopped Gideon hadn't even gotten halfway through his yogurt. Looking up from her own cup of yogurt she looked over at him.
"Aradia is here," he said rather matter-of-factly, and all but shoved his yogurt and book into Xarielle's arms.
"Wait, where-" She was cut off as he ran off, and she was forced to go after him.
Gideon seemed to have a sixth sense about this and began to almost quite literally, parkour his way toward Aradia.

But of course Xariah instantly recognized her sister. The only family in this part of town that had people with red hair was her own. Looks like she wasn't the only one visiting home today.

With a large, mischievous smile, the brunette quietly bobbed and weaved her way through the crowd. Xarielle and Gideon were still having their yogurt, but something told her that they weren't far either. Aradia was in for quite the surprise. Some things never changed, and Xariah trying to jumpscare her siblings was absolutely one of them.

Aradia came to a halt at a market stall, effectively turning her back towards her sister. This was her moment.

A careful step, a few more, and then a mad dash to jump on Aradia's back.

"Welcome back, sis! Missed ya!"

Aradia's neck hair tingled. The sensation was so faint she nearly missed it. It was only her years in war zones that had her attuned enough to turn... just one step out of her sister's way.

Xariah was left to collide into the stand of crotched bags but Aradia's shoulder was easy caught and yanked to mitigate the fall. Aradia was forced to catch herself on a ice cream cooler, the impact jarring her elbows .

"What the hell!"

She straighten to find Xariah half under her. For a moment Araida looked fiercely murderious, like she might pick up the stand and beat her sibling silly with it. She exhaled in shock and managed to shake some of it away.

"You idiot, you could of--" A puff of tension dissolved into a short laugh. She shook her head and helped her sister stand. "Don't do that." She grumped.

She pushed the girl again for good measure.

Gideon watched it all go down, he wanted to chuckle but that would give him away and he couldn't have that. Meanwhile, Xarielle sighed as she joined her sisters, all the while handing money to the merchant for any issues caused. She smiled, and laughed, "you can't ever say coming home is boring." It was good to see Aradia again, Rielle let a bit of laughter escape her. "Hugs? No hugs? A delicate handshake maybe?" Rielle wondered aloud, halfway asking Aradia which was preferred while wanting to respect her boundaries.
All the while Gideon waited, lurked, and studied. He was going to do it this time, he was going to catch Aradia off guard and surprise her. Except that he hadn't paid attention to his footing and only realized a moment too late that he was falling. One foot on the ledge and the other stood partially on an awkward vent that sent him flying down onto an awning and then crashing into barrels of fish and water. The crash was loud enough to catch the attention of nearly everyone on that end of the market.
As he stood up on his feet he could hear guards, "HEY YOU!"
"Uh oh..." Gideon gave a sheepish grin and took off running down the small, narrow alley turning the corner as he grabbed a fish from the back of his shirt and launched it at the guards before running dead into his siblings.

Close, close. Aradia had gotten better at dodging. Thankfully the impact wasn't hard enough to knock the stand over, but Xariah certainly felt the impact.

She'd have to be sneakier next time.

Aradia's anger-to-mild-annoyance and push got a response in the form of a highly amused snort. "Good to see you too, Aradia." The mischievous smile and wink fit her tone perfectly. They were wiped off her face the moment Gideon crashed right into her, though.

"Whoa-!" Xariah yelped as she fell on her butt. After scrambling back on her feet, she noticed both the guards and the fact Gideon that hadn't stopped running. That told her enough.

"Uh, time to run!"
