- Canon: Yes, Cave of Evil
- Links: Battle of Dagobah, most recent directly affecting the cave.
:: SETTING INFORMATION ::
- Nexus Name: Cave of Evil
- Nexus Alignment: Dark
- Location: Dagobah
- Affiliation: The First Order, The Knights of Ren.
Size:
Medium - An area that can be renewed/realigned but not destroyed, can be expansive and powerful. (example is Valley of the Jedi, The Wellspring)
[*]Accessibility: Easy for Force sensitives to be dragged to it is a well of energy. Hard to find as a general location due to the surrounding swamp flora that Dagobah is renown for but easy to find entrance when there due to the recent explosion done by the Galactic Alliance.
[*]Security: None. Dangerous fauna may roam around, hostile to anything regardless of affiliation.
[*]Description:
The immediate area of where the cave's former entrance was is the 'ground zero' of the explosion. In a circular area a lot of the thick canopy has been torn down by the shockwave turning the once thick of nature area into a small clearing.
Surrounding that clearing is the natural environment of Dagobah - swamp, thick canopy and other easy to conceal within flora befitting a bog. The entrance to the cave has become more of an opening in the ground itself than the former stereotypical cave entrance. The cave is of limestone and dirt and while it used to be simply a passage prior to the explosion, it has become a miniature mess of a few short tunnels that while complicated could not be classified as a maze.
:: NEXUS EFFECTS ::
- Sense of Dread: Sense of dread follows those venturing around and within the cave.
- Sence of Malice & Menace: Sense of malice and menace follows the Force-sensitives venturing around and within the cave.
- Altered perception of Force sensitives: The nexus affected heavily the cognitive and perceptive functions of Force Sensitives venturing near it and within it. It materialized feelings that were highly-personal to the individual such as the worst fears. The cave was known for its malicious exploitation of individuals' weaknesses and worries. It supposedly does not affect non-force sensitives.
- Join the Dark Side: Further addition to the altered perception bullet point above, the nexus manipulated the mind of individuals with the goal of luring them to the dark side.
- Well of Dark Side power: As a dark side nexus, its energies could be drawn by dark siders for the purpose of enhancing and amplifying their powers and abilities.
- Call to Violence: With the severe violence occurring on the grounds around and on the cave itself due to the battle of Dagobah, specifically the explosion tearing the cave - the nexus has grown more volatile and prone to pushing individuals to more violent actions, stimulating their aggression.
- Overwhelming Darkness: Due to the strength of the Dark side from the Nexus, light side force signatures could be easily concealed.
:: POINTS OF INTEREST ::
- Ground Zero: The small clearing which is the result of Galactic Alliance detonating explosives with the aim of destroying the cave.
- Tunnels of Deception: The cave's tunnels where the effect of the vergence are strongest.
:: HISTORICAL INFORMATION ::
PENDING MODIFICATION.
The Cave of Evil's first recorded history was the battle between the Jedi Minch and a Bpfasshi Dark Jedi leader. With the death of the dark jedi, his energies were absorbed in the surroundings of the cave and marked the first tainting of the passage with the dark side of the Force.
An Imperial scout once attempted exploring the cave but was scared away from the planet by terrifying howls.
Over the course of history, the Cave hardly had any remarkable events other than the exile of Jedi Master Yoda near it and the training of Luke Skywalker during the Galactic Civil War within it. After the death of Yoda, Luke Skywalker returned to the cave and experienced a vision of an alternate past.
Almost a decade later, the cave's powers were siphoned by the Scepter of Ragnos during the Disciples of Ragnos crisis. Following the destruction of the scepter, the powers returned to the nexus once more. A few years down the road and a group of force sensitives and non-force sensitives explored the cave. The non-force sensitive of the group seemed unaffected by the cave's powers, oddly enough.
No recorded history exists of events concerning the cave during the Gulag Plague, historians speculate that no remarkable events had occurred regarding the cave during the Gulag plague. Following the Gulag plague, the cave remained unaffected by galactic-wide events such as Netherworld.
