CC-C/S26 Security Enhancement Package
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Safe and Secure: The CS26 package covers holo-security at every end, from guarding hard access ports to sweeping for spyware and slicers, to encoding and scrambling transmission signals.
  • Anonymous Calls: Not only does the CS26 encode your communications, it comes with anti-eavesdrop technology to catch and block holonet bugs, as well as systems to disguise the user's voice and appearance.
  • Give 'Em The Raspberry: The CS26 package can be used to either subtly or overtly scramble a wide range of scanning equipment, as well as detect counter-scans and avoid them through low-feedback passive scanning.
  • Baffling Behavior: The equipped baffler module in the CS26 covers the energy, magnetic, gravitic, exhaust, and ionic signatures of the ship and makes them harder to trace.
WEAKNESSES
  • Commonplace Countermeasures: None of the countermeasures used in the CS26 package are unique, so most experienced slicers or specialized systems will be able to get around them.
  • Is This Thing On?: The more advanced features of the security package like the shadowcloak and voice scrambler need to be activated before you start a holocall in order to be effective.
  • Hurt Itself In Confusion: Passive scanner mode and the jammer package both lower the range and sensitivity of scanning equipment, while using them simultaneously can mean flying basically blind.
  • We Have Visual Contact: The CS26 is not a cloaking device, anything vehicle it is used in will still be easily visible, and its jamming/baffling programs are not completely comprehensive when it comes to blocking scans or traces.
DESCRIPTION
Marketed as a Security Enhancement Package, the Captain's Choice CC-CS26 is, in reality, everything a growing criminal needs to keep their starship (and their holonet history) secret. The basic security package reinforces all access sockets, scans and regularly recodes computer systems, and secures all forms of common transmissions. The system also counter-scans for active sensor arrays in the area as well as electronic bugs and can switch to a low-feedback passive scanner mode to stay below enemy scans. It also provides physical, audio, and eavesdrop scrambling technology for all standard communications systems. Its jammer system is also extremely comprehensive and can not only throw off enemy scanners and trackers, but can mask or alter the signal and signature of the vessel. Likewise the baffler system covers all the most commonly tracked starship emissions to keep you flying below enemy scanner range.

Unfortunately, the package is fairly pedestrian as far as countermeasures go, lacking any advanced or unique features to throw off a committed or experienced electronic threat. Each section of the package also has drawbacks, like needed to manually activate the privacy features of the security package, the jammers and passive scanner potentially scrambling your own comm/scan array, and the limited capacity of the baffler system. However, most spacer's looking for a little privacy find the CS26 by Captain's Choice to be a reliable way to keep their transmissions encoded and their ship secure from electronic threats.
