The standard medium turbolaser cannon found in one form or another across the Captain's Choice starship lineup, the CC-TL44 Binary Turbolaser Cannon is the bigger, meaner older brother of the L44 laser cannon. While in many ways a standard turbolaser, the TL44 does come with a selective fire mode allowing it to switch between Dual and Twin fire modes. In Dual-Fire model, both barrels of the TL44 fire independently and at rapid speed (for a turbolaser) thanks to a bank of overcharged capacitors, while in Twin-Fire mode, both barrels fire simultaneously and with increased damage thanks to the advanced laser charging array housed in the cannon. The TL44 excels when used on and against capital ships, as it requires a massive amount of space and power to run while being too slow to track targets like fighters, making it the preferred option for Captain's Choice military designs.
