OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
STRENGTHS
The CD-NX was an advanced navigational computer produced by the Corellia Digital corporation in 860 ABY. By utilizing the time and location data from the network of subpsace relay stations, communications satellites, and HoloNet repeaters passing through hyperspace, the navi-computer is able to model the stellar drift and calculate the ship's relative position to the Standard Galactic Grid in real-time while in transit. This enables longer range, continuous travel through hyperspace without the need to periodically revert to normal space in order to verify position against an astrogation plotter. This makes longer trips more efficient by eliminating the time lost between the sequence of smaller jumps. When in real space, the navi-computer verified its stellar cartographic data using navigational buoys and hyperspace beacons.

STRENGTHS
- Precise Navigation. Due to its ability to calculate the ship's position in real-time and extreme accuracy of its star charts, the CD-NX did not require a hyperspace beacon or navigational buoys to plot a course through hyperspace without a hyperlane.
- Continuous Travel. As the CD-NX uses subspace radio and hyperwave signals to triangulate position continuously, there is no need for a ship to periodically drop out of the hyperspace in order to verify its navigational coordinates.
- Electromagnetic Interference. Signal interference may compromise the system's ability to triangulate position. In such case, the ship will have to periodically drop out of lightspeed for astrogation plotting.
- Batteries Not Included. As a starship component system, the system relies on an external power supply in order to operate.
- Capital Ship Only. The sensor and communication resources required, as well as the computer demands for the calculations, exceed those of smaller starships. As such, the CD-NX can only be used by ships of star destroyer size.
