BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The go-to battlefield support, hunter-killer, and recon craft of the Crossroads Republic Armed Forces. Its light build, stealthy profile, and powerful jammers make this craft tough to find except through visual contact and even then, it is capable of outrunning and outmaneuvering many of its potential pursuers, although it'll never win a dogfight because it has no air-to-air capabilities. The craft is capable, and now, with the Mk. II variant's added mounted electromagnetic plasma projector its offensive capability does not go away after it has expended its missiles and bombs from its bomb bay. The other added capability of the Mk. II is that it can be operated from a ship with great proficiency compared to the old Mk. I, which could only really be operated from a base on the ground where space is not an issue. This means that Crossroads forces can operate offensively with their standard electronic capability away from their home bases without crowding out their carriers' hangar bays.
- Intent: To create a next generation primary recon and precision strike-capable drone-like aircraft for the Crossroads Republic with the same role as the a Reaper UAV

- The Mk. II's airframe is made of cheaper but more flexible Laminasteel.
- Powerful thrusters and avionics to provide additional capabilities to the craft's elusiveness.
- Has weak deflector shields able to deflect shrapnel and airbursts as well as weak laser blasts.
- Droid brain is capable plotting its own flight path and can self-course correct and target its own weapons based on pre-determined rules of engagement and selected target profiles.
- The Mk. II now has folding wings to be capable of being used from a ship without crowding out the hangar it's in.
- Advanced multi-spectral scanners and sensors are linked to a powerful communications suite provide a direct link to command networks to give a live-feed.
- Sensors feeding its targeting computer provides highly-precise bomb drops and missile strikes from very high altitudes.
- EM jammers and counter-measures suite capable of warding off most homing missiles.
- Capable of autonomous squadron operations, an improved autonomous flight and operation programming.
- Live-feed comms links its highly-sensitive sensors and scanners.
- Long-range/high-endurance flight means this can provide constant battlefield support to ground forces.
- Fast and maneuverable for a recon craft.
- Flexible payloads thanks to internal bomb bay hardpoints, and a electromagnetic plasma projector.
- Has no armor whatsoever.
- Vulnerable to intercept from starfighters.
- Weak shielding.
- Needs a maintenance corps to keep large numbers functioning.
- With only one engine the craft is easier to disable than other craft of is type.
