Built as an economic SEAD weapon the Dart is a droid whose sole function to plummet from high altitude and strike a target like a missile. Unlike a missile this weapon is capable of loitering over a target an extended period, can change targets, perform reconnaissance, and dodge attacks thanks to its avionics and high speed. This craft is absolutely lethal against a force which has lost its enough air defenses and air cover to make its missions possible but too risky for manned aircraft to take part. It is this unique battlefield state which the Dart is designed to exploit economically and complete the destruction of enemy air defenses thanks to its scanners which can detect the firing of enemy surface weapons and their sensors' outputs and home in on their source and destroy them. Because of how cheap they are to produce dozens can be present in a battlespace, each working and communicating with one another to prevent double-targeting but operating independently and able to send their sensor feeds back to their home base.
