PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Cerrik is calm, thoughtful, and adaptive, often taking life as it comes and approaching challenges with a sense of serenity. Much like the oceans he grew up around, Cerrik believes in going with the flow, adapting to the currents rather than fighting against them. This makes him exceptionally patient, both with himself and with others, and he's known for being slow to anger. However, when provoked, Cerrik can act swiftly and decisively, much like a storm at sea.
His time on the ocean before all the training taught him the value of intuition and trusting his instincts, and he carries this into his approach to the Force. Cerrik places great emphasis on feeling his way through situations, using his natural connection to the living Force to sense what others might miss. This makes him highly empathetic, with an acute awareness of the emotions and intentions of those around him.
Despite his laid-back nature, Cerrik holds himself to a high standard of integrity. His time with Master Vana Rho instilled in him a deep respect for Jedi teachings, even if he interprets them through a more fluid and adaptable lens. He encourages his Padawans to view the Force as a living, breathing thing that should be respected, rather than something to control. This philosophy shapes his mentorship style, making him a thoughtful and patient teacher who pushes his students to develop their instincts and trust in the Force.
STRENGTHS
Combat: Cerrik doesn’t readily use his saber, so he relies more on physical combat. His strikes have great speed and agility, leaving little time for his opponent to counter. Cerrik will even use the Force in order to enhance his combat style.
Form VI: Cerrik is a master at Form Vi “Niman”. Despite the more relaxed nature of the saber form, he can perform strikes with impressive speed behind them. Cerrik can strike with precision and stop them in an instant.
WEAKNESSES
Form VI: Due to it being a frankenstein form that takes from the others, it's a “jack of all trades master of none”. The form isn’t as strong in any particular area like the others.
Difficulty with Authority: His adaptable, flexible interpretation of Jedi teachings might clash with more rigid or traditional authority figures who prefer structure and control.
HISTORY
His story begins on the aquatic world of Lew’el. Cerrik was born to a family of humble fishermen, and his early life revolved around the tides, learning how to sail, fish, and navigate the unpredictable currents. His connection to the ocean ran deep, and he often felt a strange pull, as if he could sense the life teeming beneath the waves. When Cerrik was just six years old, a visiting Jedi Knight noticed the strength of his connection to the Force, and sensing his potential, brought him to the Jedi Temple where he began his training.
Cerrik’s early years as a Padawan were marked by his strong affinity for sensing the living Force. His connection to the natural world, honed by years on the sea, gave him an edge in understanding life forms, ecosystems, and subtle shifts in energy. He often meditated near the Temple’s gardens, where he could feel the Force flowing through every living thing, much like the currents of the oceans back home. Cerrik initially struggled with the structured, disciplined nature of Jedi training, as he had grown up in a free-spirited and unpredictable environment.
Under the mentorship of Jedi Knight Vana Rho, he learned to harness his natural instincts and blend them with Jedi teachings. Vana, an experienced Jedi known for her patience and wisdom, recognized that Cerrik's strength lay in his ability to adapt and flow with the Force, much like the water. Vana often took him on missions to planets with diverse ecosystems, teaching him how to sense the Force in all environments, from the barren deserts of Tatooine to the lush forests of Felucia.
As Cerrik grew older, he became known for his use of hand-to-hand combat and drawing his lightsaber when he felt it was absolutely needed. His master was proud of his conviction in this matter, and even encouraged him, all the way to him being knighted. Cerrik went on to have taught a handful of Padawans before he eventually became a Master. He taught his students to flow with the Force, to trust in their instincts, and to always seek balance in their actions.
