- Automated Repair Drones: These ships will deploy automated repair drones to fix any external damage on both themselves, and nearby ships. These drone lack combat capabilities, however.
- Decoy Escape Pods: In the event of an evacuation, these ships will fire several decoy escape pods to confuse enemy gunners.
- Defender: Cerulean class frigates are good at defending larger ships such as the Cyclonus class heavy destroyer from damage, and can also repair them with their repair drones.
- Single craft hangar: Cerulean class frigates have secondary hangars which can hold a shuttlecraft, or a similarly sized ship.
- Vulnerable hyperdrive: Cerulean class frigates have large, highly exposed hyperdrive generators. If their generators are destroyed, these ships have no way of quickly exiting a battle.
- Repair drones can be tricked: The automated repair drones are programmed to repair any nearby ship. This means that ramming attacks work exceptionally well against Cerulean class frigates.
Cerulean class frigates have formed the backbone of the Glolmark Corporation Navy for decades. While originally designed to support the Cyclonus class heavy destroyer, these ships have proven themselves to be capable of far more than just that. These ships are far more capable of operating alone than the Cyclonus class, and saw more success quelling the Unknown Regions Revolutions.
However, Cerulean class frigates could not stop the defeat and subsequent collapse of the Glolmark Corporation due to these revolts. In the aftermath of the collapse, the Incom Frei-Tek corporation began manufacturing and selling highly convincing knock off versions of the Cerulean class frigates to the general public. These ships are for all intents and purposes, identical to the Glolmark Corporation versions.
Now that the Glolmark Corporation has restarted in the Outer Rim, they have begun using Cerulean class frigates once again. In the modern era, they are still surprisingly effective at raiding Galactic Alliance convoys, and supporting larger spaceships. Only time will tell if they can hold their own in fleet warfare.
